I wonder if there was some weird copyright thing between them and Toei or the creators of the character, kind of like how Stryder is technically a manga property that Capcom has to license out to use
Was starting to think this would be a less fun video from you, but then you go and do something amazing and unexpected in it. There was a golden opportunity for a Lou Bega joke, however.
I like the Taigen chilling in bed with the mic vibe. I usually watch your videos in bed before going to sleep so watching makes it feel like you're a lazy asshole like me too!
I think the idea was that I went back to sleep in the intro and that's me in the morning, but I forgot to coordinate the shirt I was wearing so uh... Oops
@@TheCellarTaigenMoon either way it gave the video a comfy feel to it and I liked that. You're my comfy channel that I watch when I'm in a comfy mood :)
Harmageddon is just dull from my memory of it. So perfect for an LD game. I grew up in the era of Dragons Lair. These games suuuucked. Though watching Time Gal is good fun. Playing most of them? No. Not so much. Edit: and then you like read my mind or something?
Oh my God, I fucking know this shit!! I saw this like in 1999! Gamefan did an article on it. It was as bad as you say. Just garbage. The laserdisc market for anime is endlessly fascinating, though. Obscure 80's and 90's OVAs are really cool. Justin Sevakis of Anime News Network did a series of articles called "Buried Treasure" detailing some. Recommended! Edit: Big mistake, turns out that the bilge I saw was the similarly-named "Armageddon". It was done by a Korean animation outfit. It was so bad, my memory was purged of it.
Yeah I gave myself a little education on laserdisc for this video and there's all this classic anime released for the format. For the obscure ones that never got rereleased on DVD, those might be the best quality versions, cause the only alternative would probably be VHS.
@TheCellarTaigenMoon Lol, I suppose so! Loved the video by the way. Oddly enough, there was another cabinet in Japan where Luna told your fortune and a set of tarot cards were used. I acquired Otomo's artbook for the film, so hopefully they'll be there. Apparently there was also a MSX game, too.
I sent her this comment and she said she would stay with me forever because I'm just like Gyro Zeppeli from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 7: Steel Ball Run.
Wasn’t expecting this video to talk about Time Gal but what a nice surprise! Shame that Taito barely did anything with the character afterwards.

This video feels like a total fever dream and I love it

Thanks! I have to have fun somehow
Also, I didn't know who Lou Bega is lol

I realized that it reminds me of Hong Kong 97's gameplay, with the character on the bottom and the enemies coming down from the top.
I mean, same genre

I think you manifested Time Gal into this video

@@TheCellarTaigenMoon Also some of the most expensive. You wouldn't believe how much obscure LD releases like T-oy or Five Star Stories go for.

2:33 imma just say this: If you show your gf some shitty b-movie anime from the 80s and she's still with you, then she must be the one

so you don't want to play it from the beginning... skill issue
Catch me on scrub quotes complaining about the Sonny match up
Expected to see Lou Bega's laserdisc collection. Disliked and unsubscribed
A little bit of laserdisc is all I need...
