If you get a new combine/Draper. Get your self a Crary reel or wind system. You will be amazed at what they will do. Short beans or tall beans. All the shatter losses are basically gone. Been running their wind system systems since 1998. Every 5 years we trade. A few times we just switched the reels from head to head. It’s worth the money. They pay for themselves fast.

Where the strength of the GLEANER design shows, 8000 + lbs. Lighter, separator design.. Very few machines can clean your pay check like a GLEANER, less moving parts - less maintenance and less initial capital input
That Gleaner sure does look good in the field.
Gleaners really shine in corn. We run a R-65 and do high moisture custom harvesting for a dairy farm in our area. If you take your time with them you will be highly impressed with the sample and the job they do.
Ever have the separator grate plug with cobs? All of our gleaners have had that problem.
@@johnpowers1125 we have never had that problem. In high moisture corn we are only going 2.5 - 3.0 mph otherwise you just send it out the back. In dry corn we usually go 4 - 4.5 and don’t have any problems with cobs.

We run an Gleaner R-52 for corn & a John Deere 8820 Titan II in beans. The Gleaner flat out eats corn. Can go about 3.4 mph with a 6 row head. Love the Gleaner maintenance wise. Seems so much simpler than our 8820 & other combines i've seen.
Gleaner the first combine to go world wide and a lot of American farmers first combine.🌄🌄😁🌄🌄
In Alabama a toboggan is a sock hat. One fact about the Gleaners, nothing is left for the birds! What yall do is very important and we truly appreciate what you do everyday! Thanks for sharing your harvest in more ways than one!
Those are some sweet harvesters might have to but it on bucket list to take a ride on one ...back in 1965 I was 11yrs old and spent summer on a 95 JD harvesting grains dusty, hot, noisey and don't plug it up ...thier was a lot of straw to dig out...seems you had a pretty good season with little down time..great videos

Boy, Brian, those drone videos, are really spectacular! Probably, because I'm an old Gleaner fan, I really enjoyed that portion. The Gleaners, way back when had some bad press, but they were kind of true. They were called, thin tinned piss pots, silver seaders, but there have been a lot of acres covered by Gleaners, over the years. Thanks for taking the time to film them.

Don't feel to bad Brian about the flashing icon. It would be logical to me to have a flashing bin(top portion of the icon) for grain capacity and a flashing box for combine internal troubles. Great videos. I did watch a great video comparing a Gleaner to a JD in the same wheat field. The lighter less powerful Gleaner was a whole lot more productive that the big JD. Fuel per acre was considerably better. Over the life of a machine that could add to a substantial sum.
Still in awe that there’s an S9 series Gleaner on one of my favorite farm channels!!!!! Super stoked!!!! THANK YOU AGCO for helping getting this done!!

Fun fact, the grain tank for the claas lexion is built by a company named tmco which is in the same city I live in. It is also in the same state where all the lexions are built. The combine plant is in Omaha Nebraska.

For sure run one in corn before buying one. We run a gleaner and the separation grate on the bottom of the cylinder plugs with cobs, which causes it to throw out a ton of corn. Every gleaner we have had (3 of them) does it. ‘They’ say it shouldn’t do it, but I talked to our service guy and he admitted that it’s a very common issue.
I've never had that problem but I run the concave almost wide open, especially in drier corn. Maybe you are breaking up the cobs by running too closed
Have tried everything. They still get stuck. Sometimes not as bad in some corn, some corn plugs it right up in a matter of hours.
@@johnpowers1125 I wonder why? What models? How can it be different than other rotor cages like Case? Call either Dan Hurt in North Dakota, he has worked with AGCO for several years improving the combine line, (he may be retired now) he sold the dealership to Butler Machinery but mat still work there part time, or call Deike Implement in Waverly Iowa, the owner. I forgot his first name but he used to go on the custom harvests with AGCO's harvest team.
1990 R40, 2001 R52, and 2011 R66. They’ve all done it. Dealer never has an answer. Asked if another size separator grate is available they said no there’s only one size. One of the service techs finally said it’s just what they do.

The controls and display are old school with a modern touch.

In Canada it isn't a toboggan. We call them "toques" or "Block Heater" (to keep the block on your shoulders warm).

You will not be disappointed with Gleaner in corn. If, and that is, if you lose any capacity , you’ll make it up in grain in the tank and not lost.

One thing about the Gleaners. Be careful of overhead wires and cables when you put the unload auger out. It does go up very high. A lot higher than the combine height

There is a swath control. Also you don't need to go through all the navigation screens to nudge your guidance line. That tab on the guidance screen with two arrows pointing opposite directions with bring that up.
Down in Georgia or at least at our house we called them that as well. And a sled we never had,it's Georgia.

When we were kids up near Fremont, my little sister had one of those long knit hats on and a red snow suit. One of my uncles came by and saw her. He gave her the name " Snaggle Tooth Toboggan Santa 🎅 Claus. LOL Thats been her nick name for a long time!

Brian when you get to the end of all this, I wonder if you would ask your dad what he really thought of that Gleaner compared to the grain Quality through your lexion . I want to say I remember you and your dad both saying that one of the reasons you had bought the lexion was because of the grain quality was very clean.

I'd imagine if you had a wet year I'd have to put a mud hog on the Gleaner. Take me a few to get used to the unloading auger just looks different than all the other combines but it looked like it did a wonderful job cutting beans.

Brain,we started with A ac,then a M,then we had a M3,Our dealer went out of business,so it was far to get parts,so we traded to john deere 6620.What would that combine cost?? New!!! Would look good on your farm!!!!

30 yrs ago a 100 acre farm was something, people made a living , it's gotten crazy , better yet mess with there technology lol, always keep em guessing lol, miss good old days
Really?! Maybe 75-80 years ago....but 30 years ago 100 acres wouldn't support a family. Our family farm is about 400 acres....& that wasn't enough then either. Dad made it work because he milked cows morning and night in addition to working full time off the farm.
When I was custom applying nh3 at the coop and my buddy was harvesting we did the same light competition

I tell her to just screw with them. When I was 14 my wife and I ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️😂😂😂😂😂 won 1 mil and a cruise ship. Lmao 😂😂😂 I was standing in my corral I said back “is the cruise in a pile of cow **** and is my wife invisible to me?” Then he kinda just argued with me for a min. That was the funniest morning ever for me.
