- My 2006 Silverado up for sale. Has 240/240 cam @.050 with .650 lift and all supporting mods like springs, retainers, push rods, long tube headers, intake, tune. Has fully built 4l60e with a PI 4000 converter. Also has Nitrous outlet plate kit that is jetted for 150hp but not used in the video.

Ive watched this video more than a couple times over the years and always chuckle at the comments. not like im looking down on the people who ask questions, we all gotta start somewhere. its just, sometimes it sounds completely lazy to just ask especially when the answers are glaring at you.
youll learn soooo much more by popping the hood and turning the bolts yourself.

+djzomb1 i have already built another silverado since this one and its finished. Cam, built 4l60 with a yank 3600, 513 gears and a locker.
A buddy of mine bought a Datsun 280z and its in the garage right now. We are building it for a turbo 5.3, it should make for a quick little drag car.
Hell you should be filming that man! and im sure a fairlady z would be a little more than enterntaining as a drag car. 800 horses of pure anger lol

i like the idle man, im going to do a cam swap soon, i want a little more lift and little more lobe sep. i dont use a converter with that much stall though because i drive mine a lot in town and on the highway
honestly the 4000 stall was great on the street... at half throttle it would only stall to about 2K but when you hit it would flash stall to 4K... also if you're looking for more than .650" lift you'll probably have to move to shaft mount rockers because anything over .650" requires alot of valve spring pressure to hold it and the stock rockers can't handle high lift in those numbers like .700", figured you'd wanna know that since you're driving around town.
I would love to get a full build sheet from you. want to do this for my father's 05 gmc truck as a surprise. I want to build a motor and Trans on the side and when the time comes steal his truck and swap in all in over night.

Long tubes 1.75" Primary x 3.0" Collector into an offroad Y-pipe and a single super 40 under the bed.

long tube headers, off road y, super 44 or 40 been so long ago I forgot. all stainless also... makes a big difference in sound

I think it was 1-3/4" long tubes from pace setter, 3 inch off road Y pipe(no cats) 3 inch super 44 muffler

it ran 7.93 in the 1/8 on the 150 shot
7.93 from the 1/8th would put it in the range of mid 12's I believe

Hey bro did your stock fuel system hold up with that 150 shot?
Stock pump is fine to about 400 whp. After that you really should consider a 255 or 320 depending on your power goal.
@@SamSheepDoq I have flex fuel pump and injectors but also have cam and supporting mods, H/I/E so I’m not sure how much more they can handle from the factory. I was thinking about 100-125 shot darely

4000 stall is huge
Absolutely man. I don't have the truck anymore but it was a wonderful daily. I drove it to and from work everyday with zero issues. The stall really wasn't bad, no disrespect but everyone thinks a 4000 stall is too big for the street. The fact is, when you buy a converter you really do get what you pay for. This precision industries converter was extremely efficient below 2500 rpm. It would flash stall to 4000 at the track. It ran great, I loved it.
I have an 07 classic and picked a 3000 circle D initially. I daily drove mine and would pull occasionally. I didn’t like it, too much for me. Circle D has great customer service and let me swap for the 2800. Perfect for me, I would recommend circle D to anyone

It’s air flow. And engine is basically an air pump so when you add more air in one side (intake/combustion chamber) you need to be able to expel that increase air effectively which you do by increasing exhaust diameter and or muffler flow which in turns increases sound of that engine.

Don't think that's a 240/240, largest I've seen is 236/241 with flycut pistons and modded rods in a 5.3. No way you would use nitrous with that setup either.

240/240 Cam ? No one even custom grinds a cam like that .. 233/239 is factually the largest cam a 5.3 motor can take with minimal valve clearance. Anything larger requires modifications to the rods to create the clearance needed. Plenty of guys running 233/239 that have grenaded their motors from contact being made, and even that cam needs pistons to be flycut.
You are telling me you installed a cam with .650 lift, and you have stock heads? Stock throttle body? Stock intake manifold? 4l60 4speed without 5/6 gear planetary, and stock rear end gears? You sir really dont know what the fuck you are talking about, and that cam is not meant for any type of power adder.
Run some 9's on that truck with street tires, before you talk to me about being jealous.

Obviously you feel the need to prove yourself and everyone here is enlightened by your presence. The cam that you claim wont fit in a stock 5.3 is already in that engine and had 15 passes on it. So I could really care less about what you think.
That's because its not a 240/240 schmuk. Try pulling out a book and do the math on piston to valve clearance. Like I said, any moron talking about a cam that's seriously not something that can fit without mods to the internals, and has stock heads running .650 lift is full of shit or a sucker.
