I don't know what the purpose of this story other than to tell dramatic story
This kind of story only a burden to the people who have fall
So the best story are from the Al Quran because Allah always make us easy to repent
It's better to emphasize the story from Allah and his messenger rather than the story that we don't know who they are and to think they are the best example to take

This story is in contrast with That of Barsisa. in case of Barsisa , even though he was a worshipper of Allah, he committed zina and then murder and didnt repent.
In this case , the person repented and begged mercy of Allah.

its may be about small bad deeds...zina is big sin....
so for the big sins we have committed we want to do thauba and want to do more good deeds like charity....
this was said from my simple knowledge...u want to ask the doubts to a more knowledgeable persons in deen and study more...also allah's mercy and allah's plan are better than what we can even think....alhamdulillah
