Excellent Violin& Mridangam
rasika"s priyamana Artist. Great
I agree totally with Usha Natarajan's assessment that SKR's rendition is by far the best on U-Tube.
Vijayalakshmi Subramanian could be vying for the 2nd spot with a clear, precise & unequivocal presentation!
wow what a great genius...paada namaskaram ....very unique style...beautiful....

Pranams to SKR Sir, what a pANDithya, what a bhava laiden rendition
What a rasikapriya ! Sashtang pranams 🙏🙏
my favourite raga&song. super receitation
Amazing
Made my drive to work more meaningful. Its so blissful every time TSK touches the suddha dhaivatham (D3). Kotteswara Iyer is a vivAdhi rAga specialist.
Highly sensual experience!!! Has this been ever been said? I wonder if there’s anything one can say about SKR that hasn’t already been... I wonder if this is his masterpiece? Well, I wonder about that with most of his renditions! Oh btw, I realized that I am repeating myself! Obvious that I-among many others-have been cast in a spell of his ethereal music!
Violin:- M Chandrasekaran
Mridangam:- Yella Venkateshwara Rao
Excellent performance 👍🙏
Superb rendition . What an artist SKR was ?
in the film kovilpura ilayaraaja used this for sangeethame song.
Yes. Also Vidya Sagar used same raga in ding dong kovilmani nan ketten in Jee film
Iam so mad about this song " Sangeetha me"" this song memarised me during school days
After listening to various vellakennai(castor oil) renditions of ragam rasikapriya, this was like a breath of fresh air. Thanks for uploading this content. Can you please share the names of artists accompanying Shri Kalayanaraman?
@@anush2012 Sorry, Raja Rao will never have this finesse in percussion.
@@anush2012 Sorry, Raja Rao won't have this finesse in Mridangam.
Excellent. sounds like a soft gentle breeze / drizzle !
Great S.K.R"s mellifluous voice can do magic with any raga is acceptable
A very rare and nice raga used and sung beautifully by Sri kalyanaraman. This raga is very peculiar that it gives a surprise feel with the
same intervals as emotional mayamalavagowla ragam but starting just one note next. Music is astonishing indeed
The same feel can be felt in subhapantuvarali and chalanata with same intervals but different reference point and giving totally different effect. It's called Graha bhedam.
Vidya Sagar used same raga in ding dong kovilmani nan ketten in Jee film and in kovilpura film maestro ilayaraaja used same raga in sangeethame song.
🎉🎉🎉
What a divine voice 🙏
Superb rendition
Wonderful composition of Koteeswara Iyer 'arulL seyya vendum ayya arase murugayya' set in 'rasikapriya' ragam known as 'Rasamanjari' in Muthuswami Dikshitar school of Carnatic music . This ragam is special being the last Melakarta ragam out of 72 under the mela system! Technically can say that It is the prati madhyamam equivalent of last suddha madhyamam melakarta, 'Chalanata'- the 36th melakarta scale. Since it is a sampoorna-rgam, upon shifting notes by Graha-bhedam,we get other two major melakarta ragams- Mayamalavagowla and Simhendramadhyamam! . what a class tone and diction by the erstwile vocalist Tanjore Kalyanaraman ! Its very unfortunate that he left this world so early......real loss to the carnatic musc field..... Otherwise he would have become an exponent like DR.KVN, Chembai or DR.BMK ! Here his swarakaloana is extempore ....outstanding pranams to the great soul...
@@naganathanvenkateshwar626 Yes...S. Kalyanaraman (SKR) , great grand-son of Komal Muthu Bhagavathar and grand nephew of vocalist Madirimangalam Natesa Iyer, became a disciple of maestro GNB ( G. N. Balasubramaniam) and then only he rose to stardom. He notated a book, the first volume of GNB compositions with Trichur V. Ramachandran ( also, a disciple of GNB) which was released by GNB. He formulated and tested methods to improve shruthi clarity in Carnatic musicians and innovative teaching methods. He planned a book with his findings, but it was never published. Like his guru GNB, SKR too refrained from using a 'mudra'!.
SKR a brilliant musician by any stretch of imagination.Longlive the legendary singer.
@@naganathanvenkateshwar626 Yes..SKR was a disciple of maestro G N Balasubramaniam..I have heard that SKR used to follow GNB bani bani even before becoming GNB's disciple!

P: My Lord (“arasE”), murugA (“murugayyA”) you (“nI”) have to shower (“seyya vENDum”) your grace (“aruL”) (“on me”)!
A: Please appear/come (“vandu”) like (“ena”) the sun (“sUriyan”) of knowledge (“jnAna”) (“and bless me, Oh murugA”) with a (“Or”) word (“sol”) [1] that will dispel (“aravE”) the deep darkness (“valliruL”) of illusion (“mAya”) intoxicating (“mayakkiDum”) and entangling (“uravE”) me in a web of desire (“maruL”).
C: This body (“kAyam”) is not (“ilayE”) eternal (“nilaiya”), so what is this (“enna”) illusion (“mAyam”) that makes us believe (“eNNuvadu”) that it (“idanai”) is permanent (“nilaiyenRu”)? Oh one who is dear (“priya”) to the fan (“rasika”), the loving (“nEsa”) servant (“dAsa”), of the poet (“kavi”) kunjara (“bhArati”) [2], (“you have to bless me, Oh murugA”), so that I (“nAn”) can achieve excellence (“uyya”) in life by accepting/thinking of you alone (“unnaiyE”) as the eternal one (“nilaiyenRu”)!
FOOTNOTES
[1] the word (“sol”) I think is the praNava - Om
[2] The composer, Sri Koteeswara Iyer was brought up by his maternal grand-father, who was Kavi Kunjara Bharati - Sri KI called himself ‘kavi kunjara dAsan’ - his mudra
what a genius!!!!! I am proud i was his student.
