I was in Ueno Park and Omiya village a few years ago. Also visited a few bonsai nurseries. I did not discover the Ueno Green Club and will visit it on my next visit. Trees are just stunning. Thank you for sharing.

John Lorena It depends on U.S.A regulations. I have been told from some bonsai masters that in some case (depending on the country they ship to) they have to take the bonsai out of the pot and clean and disinfect all the roots and the entire bonsai before shipping. This kind of procedure needs the work of 3 or 4 persons and will add on the cost of the bonsai itself. You should ask directly in the U.S.A for info. From Japan they ship to different countries with no problem (and many do not require the above process)....but I am not sure about the United States.
No, it is the Customs on return will not allow them through. The bonsai importers have to have these trees in Quarantine for a a number of months before they can sell them here.
