Idk if i would say its the absolute peak, its one of the greatest seasons, no doubt about it, but saying its "peak" makes it sound like other seasons will be boring or bad, id say there are more than a few really good seasons still she can watch before getting to seasons with returning players, like FvF, HvV, Cambodia or WaW which are all really good

Goat in survivor: In season 2 of survivor in a very weird and early-survivor-type challenge the tribes had to herd goats! A tribe of idiots was rly struggling, and someone said something like "they aren't herding, they're the goats" and ever since it's been a term to mean a player that isn't affecting the game, but being led and dragged to the end. Its basically the type of player you take with the end to you for a sure win

I really hope you do more reactions to other survivor seasons. This was extremely fun to watch and I really enjoyed your takes on the show as a new viewer, especially your perspective on Tony and his win.
I've never seen live reactions to Survivor seasons like this, so I really liked watching this.
From what I understand, the consensus is that Cagayan is considered as one of the best seasons of the show, but there are plenty of gems across the 40 seasons. Strap in for hundreds of hours of Survivor greatness!

Seasons 13, 18, 33, 37 are good ones with new players.
Seasons 16, 20, 27, 31 and 40 are all great but have returning players so avoid if you don't want to be spoiled.

Season 18 (Tocantins) is one of my favorites. But I would also recommend 15 (survivor china) or Koah Rong. All have a great cast.

Sorry if im late to this, but to answer your question at 4:10: Every contestant submits like, i believe a full bag of clothing they want to take, but production then chooses only a few things they can take and its usually very type-cast-ish, like hot girls get bikinis and "country" people get jeans, etc. they also only have one, Maybe two, pairs of pants/shorts to wear through the whole show. (depending on the season, rules about clothing also changes slightly)

A Goat is used as a term for someone taken to the Final Tribal Council but has no chance of winning, bc either the jury despises them or they did nothing the entire game. Think of it as being a “goat led to the slaughter”

I’m a super fan! My favorite seasons are Micronesia, China, Gabon, Nicaragua, Tocantins, Palau, and Pearl Islands!
My favorites: 28, 20, 7, 16, 13, 12, 8. Note: seasons 8, 16, 20, 26 have partial or full all-star cast if you’re spoiler adverse, and many other seasons feature one or more returning players. Also, seasons 1 to 16 are in the old standard TV definition, while seasons 17+ are in high-definition. One final alternative recommendation: if you enjoy wacky characters, check out season 17, Gabon.

I’m a survivor fan, and I’ve seen others tell you what others seasons to watch should you continue. I personally would skip out on some of the earlier seasons (seasons 1-12, 14, 21-24) because they’re older / might not be the most interesting seasons for content. At least right now.
But I watch survivor seasons as a story arc, where several separate seasons all come together in an all star returnee season. It’s satisfying to see players you know battle eachother. And as a fan, I can tell you that you should watch all the seasons one by one, but I don’t personally believe you have to. You can also watch some all star seasons, where you don’t know ALL the returnees. The show will fill in the blanks for you on both these things.
But as one story arc, I would pick seasons 18, 25, 27, 29, and 30 to watch if you would, and you don’t have to in any particular order. These seasons are not boring, and have players that all will go onto a all returnee season which is SEASON 31, and those players will play with Tasha, Woo, Kass, and Spencer from this season you just watched. No spoilers, these seasons leading into season 31 make the story arc of certain players, and their different stories all come together in S31. These are on Hulu or Amazon.
Heroes vs Villains is the other option on Netflix, but the season story arcs that lead into that are the earlier seasons that you have to watch that might be slower. And the main seasons to watch for HvV are: season 1, 7, 8, 16, 18, and 19 (also on Hulu or Amazon).
And (as I’m typing this essay being crazy) now that you have Tony as a winner, you can start filling out the winners you will see on different seasons that will all eventually meet up for the all winners season LOL

I would suggest watching season 32 Koah Rong which is Brawns Brains Beauty 2 or season 15 China which is a must in the survivor fandom
You chose a perfect season to watch. Cagayan is my personal favorite.

Season 1 Borneo: Gotta see how it all began.
Season 7 Pearl Islands: It's got a fun Pirate Theme, and Rupert and Johnny Fairplay are still some of Survivors greatest characters.
Season 10 Palau: Fun War Theme with a really tragic premerge.
Season 13 Cook Islands: a diverse cast and contains some of the most iconic players in history. Also has a tremendous underdog story.
Season 17 Tocantines: One word: Coach!
If you want more modern seasons I'd recommend...
Season 32: Kao Rong
Season 33: Milleniels vs Gen X
and last but not least
Deff check out Season 37: David vs Goliath

You should definitely watch China (Season 15), David VS Goliath (Season 37), Tocantins (Season 18), San Juan Del Sur (Season 29), or Koah Rong (Season 32)!

1. In Survivor, a goat is someone who played so bad that they probably won't receive any votes at Final Tribal Council. So typically you would take a goat with you to the end since you would have a really high chance of winning. Kass was a goat because EVERYONE on the jury hated her and no one respected her (remember: social game is equally as important as your strategic game)
2. After a contestant is eliminated, they stay at this place called "Ponderosa" where they can just chill and do whatever they want and eat whenever/whatever (however I'm pretty sure they are not allowed to use their phones). There's actually a series on TH-cam, you can search "Survivor Cagayan Ponderosa". The episodes are all really short, about 6 to 13 minutes I'd say and each few episodes is about the most recently eliminated castaway. Also, going back to my previous paragraph for a sec, as I said Kass was really hated and this is evidenced by her Ponderosa episode. When she got there, the other players ignored her and didn't welcome her.

- Australian Outback
- David vs Goliath

- Pearl Islands
Seasons that are usually great for people who are getting into Survivor (although I haven't checked if there are spoilers for previous seasons in them):
- David vs Goliath (very recent season so very strategic and twist heavy but the best newbie cast ever imo -- yes even better than Cagayan)
- Cook Islands (old School survivor with one of the best storylines and some of the most legendary players make their first appearance here)
- Millenials vs GenX (personally, I didn't like it that much but that's more of an unpopular opinion)
- Tocantins (such a beautiful location, a great winner and the introduction to some of the best characters + has one of my favorite twists which is Exile Island)
- Borneo (the season that started it all. It is the 1st season of Survivor so you'll see that the game has changed A LOT between Borneo and Cagayan. Back then, the seasons were more about survival and the social game)
- Australian Outback (the 2nd season of Survivor, has an amazing cast and a lot of them return in the future)
- Pearl Islands (easily a top 5 season with some of the most memorable characters and usually deemed as one of the best old school Survivor seasons)
- China (also a very good season with a unique location. Some of the best characters and a satisfying final 3)
As a fellow survivor superfan, i definitely agree with your lists and my all-time favourites from the originals (which i consider season 25 and under) are surprisingly China, it's a super rare and underdog pick but I really liked it, Micronesia it's a classic and one of the best sets of returnees, Gabon mostly cause I just loved how petty Corinne was, she is one of my top survivor villains and of course Heroes vs Villains because it's by far the best. And from the newer ones I loved blood vs water the first one, Cambodia , Millenials vs Gen X, and Winners at war which got a lot of criticism but I really liked it. @Julia K i'd love to know your top favorite and least favourite players of all time!

I see we have very similar taste. I also enjoyed BvW, Gabon and WaW (only the premerge of WaW tho. I thought the bootlist was horrible and made the season less enjoyable - as well as the twists).
My favorite players have to be Cirie, Parvati and Tony. Cirie is just such a strategic mastermind and has an excellent social game every time she plays. Parvati is one of the most consistent players, has managed to make it to the end twice despite a huge target on her back since day 1, and is also amazing strategically. Tony has played two of the most dominant games ever and has such a unique playstyle. He's like Russell but with a good social game.
As for least favorites, I'd probably say anyone who's quit the game without a valid reason (so Jenna M. and Sue are not included here as they had a good reason to leave) and anyone who's a scum outside the game (Skupin being a prime example of this).

@@juliak9899 Personally, I think Parvati is a bit overrated.
The season she won is probably the most compromised season in all of Survivor's history. It had 2 medical evacuations, 2 others voted out because of Medical reasons, and another quit for mental health reasons. That's 5 players (a quarter of the whole cast) who conveniently left the game and Parvati did not have to do anything to get rid of them, and even more conveniently, all of them were players would have been in opposition to her (and/or her direct allies) at the time of their elimination.
She kinda lucked out.
I also don't find that double idol play in HvV as impressive as everyone else seems to.
One: it's not like she found both the idols of her own fortitude. The first she found cause she just-so-happen to pick up the napkin with a clue in it (pretty dumb luck there). The second she got do to JT being an idiot (even more dumber luck).
Two: Her being able to sus out that Amanda Kimmel (arguably one of the worst liars in Survivor ever) was lying, and then doing basic math to figure out the Heroes were voting for either Sandra or Jerri, does not make her a genius.
Three: It never even happens in the first place if Sandra didn't dupe Russell into changing the the final 12 vote from Courtney to Coach, so your welcome, from the actual queen of Survivor.
All respect for her challenge performance, and the blindsides she did manage to pull off, I just feel like the chips just seemed to fall in her favor more often than others. Survivor is rarely fair, and there is a lot of luck involved (some seasons more than others).

Omg I just found you from Brad Mondo’s video and I thought you seemed really funny so I found your channel and I was right. You’re making me lol over here. 😂😂
Long time Survivor fan here, this was fun to watch! I recommend also watching season 7 (Pearl Islands), season 15 (China) and season 37 (David v Goliath) for some of the best seasons with all new players. A lot of people have played the game a few times, but they’re better to watch when you know who they are.
A few random things to note: they’ve done most seasons with a final 3 but it was a final 2 for the first 12? seasons or so. Every so often they’d switch it up to a final 2 again, usually if they had quitters/medical evacuations to work around, but by this season, a final 3 was the norm. Hence the confusion, I guess.
Also, Jeff Probst (the host) is the sass king. He does not suffer fools gladly and it’s usually hilarious to watch, he is NOT here for their BS.
And they have been doing the winner reveal live since the second season. Back in the early days, they’d have Jeff do these hilarious “arrivals” on finale night, like jet skiing into NYC or jumping onto a helicopter. They were so cheesy and stupid but I loved them, I’m sad they stopped doing them.
And finally, about the clothing: production chooses their outfits for them, but every so often they do surprise maroonings and have to start playing with literally the clothes on their back. But yeah, mostly if they are in jeans, it’s because that’s what they were told to wear.
There arent any legit survivor reactors on youtube..this is great! You should react to another season, and post one or 2 reactions weekly, you'll get lots of views! Maybe even run polls on which season to react to next.

I’m super late to finding this lol but I’ve never enjoyed watching someone else watch survivor more than you like you need to be casted on the actual show 😂🤞🏽.
Starting with Cagayan was great honestly it’s probably the best all newbie season (seasons where former players don’t return).
If you’re looking to make more survivor reactions here’s the order I’d suggest you do it (prepare for 5AM rambling):
1. Season 37: David vs. Goliath (another recent newbie season that’s super enjoyable and will further cement if you’re liking the show)
2. Season 7: Pearl Islands (taking a step back and seeing probably the perfect culmination of an OG season with iconic players. Pearl islands also sets up alot of stuff for later down the line and is really enjoyable on first watch especially.)
3. Season 12: Panama/Exile Island (season 12 has great characters and sort of begins the era of the hidden immunity idol. I think your commentary would SHINE over this one especially with certain characters one of whom is even more insane than Tony lmao)
4. Season 13: Cook Islands (a season with a polarizing way of separating the tribes to start, great characters that build foundations for most later seasons and many players that become legends who return multiple times down the line. Probably the most fun group of characters that all spawned from one season looking back.)
5. Season 15: China (while I love season 14: Survivor Fiji, most would tell you to skip it unless you want to already be attached to EVERY returning player going into the next season. China is my favourite season of all time, great characters, great strategy, a lot of chaos at times lol. 10/10)
6. Season 16: Micronesia (your first returnee season if you follow this order! Fans vs. Favourites is generally regarded as a top 5 season of all time. One tribe of superfans vs one tribe of some of the best the games seen - all coming from the seasons you’ve just watched!)
7. Season 18: Tocantins (people say this is the essential season to start with, it’s a fun ride with iconic players/characters and builds us up perfectly for what’s to come with season 20)
8. Season 19: Samoa (if you thought Tony was crazy, Samoa is basically his inspiration for obvious reasons once watching)
9. Season 20: Heroes vs. Villains (the greatest season of all time!! 10 of survivors greatest heroes, and 10 of its most notorious villains return for an insane battle to the end)
NOTE: for heroes vs villains you’ll know every character except three of them and they’re relatively important, if you care to know who they are before seeing them return their seasons are season 2, 4, and 8 (but 8 is Survivor All Stars which only really hits hard if you’ve seen seasons 1-7 thus why I’ve left these out but who knows what you’ll pick to see this is kinda just a compendium of verbiage…)
10. Season 27: Blood vs. Water (awesome season where former players play against their family members)
11. Season 29: San Juan Del Sur (blood vs water 2 but all newbies and WAY better way more chaotic and just an awesome season that sets up my final season for you PERFECTLY.)
12. Season 31: Cambodia - Second Chances (fans vote in 20 players who played once and fell short of the win to return and play again - many from Cagayan lol - it’s regarded as the second best season usually behind Heroes vs. Villains and is just awesome throughout - I think it’ll hit deep too since you started with Cagayan and I’m not joking it’s the season with the most players voted in out of any other lol)
Hope you enjoyed this! A few other great seasons worth checking out are seasons 1, 6, 25, 33, and 40. You’ve earned a new fan I’m super hyped to binge all your videos and see more survivor content along the way :)
*p.s. Big Brothers got some FIRE seasons too that are worth getting into (start with season 17)

The real definition of a goat is a player who, regardless of how they play, has a zero percent chance of winning the game.
Not all goats are coattails riders. Some play really agressivly, but they are so polarizing that noone respects their moves.

YES! A SURVIVOR SEASON COMMENTARY!! And great season to start on, I find Tony to be one of the best winners in Survivor history! And you just got your 287th subscriber! A lot of people in the comments have been recommending seasons of Survivor to watch, but I actually gonna recommend something different related to Survivor, and that is the international seasons of Survivor, different versions from around the world, like Australia, South Africa and New Zealand!
From Australian Survivor seasons 3, 4 and Champions v Contenders
From Survivor South Africa: Season 3 Santa Carolina, Season 4 Maldives, Season 5 Champions, and Season 6 Philippines
And from Survivor NZ, they only made 2 seasons, but I highly recommend Season 2 Thailand

And sense you did reply, there are a few details that I did forget to tell you on the Australian Survivor seasons, because I do recommend you to watch seasons 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 in that order, cause because in the first episodes of 4 and 6, they spoil the winner of the last seasons they are on, Season 5 has an American contestant who was on Survivor US, so you probably need to watch US seasons 19, 20 and 22 to have an understanding of who this is, season 6 has a contestant that was from season 4 from Australian Survivor, and Season 5 is an all-star season. And yeah, that’s the extra information I needed to have, and thank you for the heart!

If you do you should go in order, rather than just going for favourite series. Because part of the joy of survivor is seeing players return. If you dont see their original seasons first it wont mean as much.

you don’t necessarily have to watch in this order but it’s structured so that the all stars season has cast members of seasons earlier in the list. if you want to jump around the best newbie seasons are def S15, S17, S18, S12, S32, S37, S33
also avoid S5 and S21 by far the 2 worst seasons of the show. S2 is really bad but i put it in the list because half of the cast returns in future seasons

This is a great season to start with. Also San Juan Del Sur, Mill vs Gen x, Koah Rong, and China
what are the odds i would search for "survivor reaction" on a tuesday? well, 1 in 7 i guess. julia k summed up goat and ponderosa well, i think those were the only questions. the others' season recommendations are fine too, i would recommend season 7: pearl islands sooner than later. its a little more raw and not as sharp and quick as modern seasons but its really peak classic survivor. probably better to get it in before you get used to a cast, crew and editting team that has had 20 years of experience figuring out how this game works if you end up watching a bunch.

I respect your opinion and everything, but Spencer was always one of my favorite survivor players, and on a cd with clips of ponderosa (the place they go to when you get votes out if you make the jury) when Spencer came everyone said that Spencer had there vote, so he would have won if he made it.
..but he didn't make it did he? lol jkjk. But yea wow that does surprise me
For modern seasons with more twists and stuff I liked Survivor: Ghost Island, Survivor David Vs Goliath, and for older seasons I personally love season 26, 29, 16, 8. Two best seasons ever are 20 and 40 but you have to watch other seasons first because they all have returning players. You’re very entertaining btw, idk how you only have 250 subs, but I subscribed :)
OMG PLEASE WATCH MORE, btw a goat is a player who if you bring them to the end they will likely not get any votes, this could be someone who is hated or just hasn’t made any moves and you need to bring the goats so you can get more votes at the end!
ALSO, Up until season 13, it was final 2 at final tribal but they changed at 13 to 3, with 3, the person who wins immunity chooses or if there is a tie, the two players will do a fire making challenge where whoever burns thru a rope fastest wins and gets immunity! I hope this helped! You must watch season 13! It is my favourite by far and is one of the best seasons in my opinion!

Tony is the survivor Mad-genius, if you listen to his breakdown podcasts he revealed he’s constantly doing little things to lower his threat level. For ex, he said he makes sure his eye level is lower than someone he’s talking to if he wants to be perceived as weak / non-threatening
He also said he never slept and looked for idols and thought thru his next steps all night because he couldn’t do it as much during the day
