Paradoxically, fajr is actually, most of the time, the prayer in which I'm the most concentrated. Especially when I don't let myself wake up entirely. Since I'm not fully awake, the unstoppable and considerable flow of thoughts that I usually have do not have the time to come to mind. So I find myself hearing my prayer pretty clearly. Good feeling.

thank you. growing up as a muslim and being told that i have to pray or else i go to hell doesnt motivate me to pray at all. but you explain this so beautifully "leave this earth 5 times a day with praying" i didn’t know i need to hear that. i will try to fix my shalat

I've heard things like this too like if you leave a prayer you're officially a non-believer and you'll go to hell, and the thing about it is that prayer loses its beauty and purpose if we do it just because we MUST do it. It wasn't "pray or else you'll go to hell" that made me pray, but "prayer is a gift. It teaches us patience, discipline, and focus. It's our connection with our Creator. It's our healing and rest".

At 18:40 when you’re talking about how the start of adhan means “Allah is greater” just gives me a whole new outlook, so for that I thank you for that. الحمدالله ❤️❤️

The part where you clarified “Allah is greater” is so eye opening. I had such an epiphany listening to that like the call is a gentle remainder of the ephemeral nature of this world and pulls us back into the spiritual state that we all originally came from.

Please, please, please, just PLEASE don‘t stop posting this videos! I saw your first podcast (giving something up for the sake of Allah) 3 weeks ago and it hitted me so damn hard.
Last year i had the most destroying events of my life but Alhamdulillah they were the reason why i found back to my Lord Allah swt.
At that time i had so much pain inside my chest and heart, that prayer was the only reason why i could stay alive.
But now, since a couple of month, since everything is good again, i just lost my discipline and patience whilst praying and sometimes i don‘t pray at all and that makes me so sad cause i know hoooow important it is for me and my relationship with Allah. I‘m trying so so hard to get my iman again to the level where i was just in an other world whilst praying, like you also said.
My current situation reminds me of Surah Az-Zumar 8: ''When one is touched with hardship, they cry out to their Lord, turning to Him ˹alone˺. But as soon as He showers them with blessings from Him, they ˹totally˺ forget the One they had cried to earlier, and set up equals to Allah to mislead ˹others˺ from His Way.''
So yes, i forgot my Lord. I forgot how he helped me through all that indescribably heartbreaking nights and how he held me alive. And that‘s a big, really big shame on me as a muslim.
But i‘m really convinced that your podcast is a blessing from Allah for ALL of us. Not only muslims but also non-muslims who‘re trying to learn more about islam or maybe just want to be more spiritual idk.
I always cry while listening to your words, because they remind me of how much more i could and should do for my Lord. How much i love him and how much i should invest in my prayer.
Thank you so so so much for sharing your thought with us! May Allah swt bless you my sister

Please don’t be too hard on yourself. Allah swt sees your honest heart and that is the most important. Never give up ❤️ We all struggle sometimes. The most important is getting back up and continuing to praise Allah swt🙏🏽

Yes! If we revolve our day around salah and not try to fit salah into our day, it makes it a little easier to manage and helps us prioritize what we should aim to be important to us. And it may seem like burden but overtime, we can see how taking the time 5 times a day to pause and renew our purpose can do so much for our heart, mind and soul

It’s interesting to know that all this time the call to prayer wasn’t saying “Allah is greatest” but that “Allah is greatER”, that totally changed my perspective on life and prayer, bc the next time I find myself deeply engrained within a worldly task and then suddenly hear the call to prayer, I’ll have a better time understanding which task is more important (and that is definitely God/praying).

Mashaallah Farah. I am so glad I have discovered you on social media. I think this is the best thing about it, just to find like minded people we can relate to, normal humans, diverse, who just happen to be in a different stage of their journey (spiritual or generally speaking). That we all have, to a certain extent the ability to help each other out, in our own journeys, by sharing our thoughts, our knowledge, or our research. These are the real conversations we need to have nowadays instead of always talking about futile things, or gossip, that in the end, bring nothing to us. Thank you for your podcasts. I am a muslim, I really like to hear from others, and their ideas. And I think it's great that you have sort of (virtually) gathered us to this conversation. (I don't know if it makes sense xD)

as long as I can rememper I have struggled with Fajr prayer to the point I no longer tried to wake up for Fajr and I made up so many excuses like I have school or I have college, but when I made the decision to commit myself to Allah and to be a Muslim in heart and action not just in the name Allah lead to me to a quote from a book it roughly said that we remodel and design our lives for various things be it collage or studying or family affairs and the list goes on and many people wish that fajer prayer was a little but late we want fajer prayer to align with our way of life but why don't we align and remodel our life for salah el fajr and it hit me so hard and since then I made it my goal to make my sleeping schedule fit salah el fajr even if I slept before it for one hour I will wake up on Fajr and stay awake and try to keep up to isha prayer then sleep and since then thanks to Allah Azza wa Jal I never looked back and now I can proudly say I never miss fajr prayer except two times that I didn't hear my alarm

Something in one of your points made me chuckle. It is true that some of the humans who decided that no higher being exists and there is no need for faith or any kind of spirituality and we are merely flesh and bone are some of the same ones who now are creating their own types of religion and rituals because they are seeking a sense of direction and inner peace.
They run away only to come full circle and just give it a different name.

the moment you said when we pray physically we're here, but mentally we're in somewhere else. i remember, it happened to me back in 4th grade when it was the holy month of ramadhan. The thing is, i purely wanted to finish my shalat tarawih and witr in the masjid and i got so focused very very focus, leaving everything behind.
I think, i close my eyes (didn't remember much did i close my eyes or not, and supposedly we shouldn't close our eyes when we shalat, cmiiw) because the imam was very beautiful when reciting the ayat. There was a long part of the letter with high notes, the moment i hear it. Everything around me suddenly becomes white and bright, it didnt hurt my eyes, a subtle light, i'm the only one standing with voice of the imam, there's no one behind me, in front of me, and besides me. Peace. MasyaAllah I felt so much peace in my heart, a weight in my heart that i dont know is lifted. After that I go home in peace, so much peace.
Whenever I remember this, I'm craving for that peace. Never in my life i feel peace like that again. I still, am not a better muslim yet, but i know Allah always guide me to everything that can open my eyes for better understanding of Islam. and one of the way is from you.
I hope you can do this constantly Farah! thankyouu! may Allah blessed you

I sooo agree that prayer which brings our attention to God is important for the spirit of every human being. And that it’s really strange to see people seeking out rituals like “5 am meditation” and manifestation that separate prayer from any and all religious traditions. For Catholics (and small “c” catholics!) who feel like they wanna pray five times a day like our Muslim brothers and sisters do, I suuuuper recommend our ancient tradition of the liturgy of the hours. 5 common hours for laypeople are the Office of Readings, Lauds, Sext, Vespers and Compline. If anything’s gonna inspire you do try this it’s this video lol- thanks Farah for your recommendations and good humor ❤

Barak Allahou feek for sharing. As for the salah (prayer), its something as you said before, we need. We dearly and really need. Because without salah, we will be very lost. I think we all can speak from experience. And those prayers are also a reminder of our goal in this dunya which is the deen, the afterlife and pleasing Allah, our creator. Without that constant reminder we can easily fall into the worldy life and become miserable. Because us humans really forget fast. And always, alhamdulillah.

These ideas are so unique and significant.I used to wonder what was the reason of prayer apart from it being obligatory and I thought it was just for discipline but this gives it a much deeper meaning.Another thing is used to feel so guilty when i think about something else during prayer and thinking of it as a chore but knowing I'm not the only one made me feel a little better 🥲.Question though why do you think the times of prayers are spaced like that or why do we do it 5 times a day, wouldn't one or two times be enough?

      Asalam alkium.
It's a constant reminder of Allah ﷻ. They are never enough time can remember Allah ﷻ. Salah originally proposed 50 prayers instead of 5, but the Prophet Muhammed ﷺ asked Allah ﷻ to reduce it and Allah ﷻ made the 5 prayers equal to 50 prayers.
Before sunrise, during the early evening, late evening, and later evening, and one until late night. It helps guide our days, connect with Allah ﷻ constantly, and always remember our purpose as a priority.

Farah. Salah is the exact opposite of meditation. Do the exercise of making the comparison to get your mind boom.

Prayer is your meeting time with God, where you leave this world behind and put your focus on God first. 5 times a day, you should be happy and excited to meet with Allah 5 times a day and leave the dunya behind. You mentioned that maybe only when your sad or depressed or down, you'd want to pray, otherwise it's hard to leave whatever your task is. But you should want to meet Allah in prayer in every state you are in, even when you're not just sad or need that help. We always need God, even when happy. Especially then, we need to remember God. I am and constantly work on continuing to WANT to pray Alhamdulilah. Be excited for that meeting. Allah is greater. God gave us prayer as a mercy, prayer is for us, we need it alhamdulilah

17:00 it called Comparative it is like when one says " He is greater.." >and mostly it requires the "than " to compare with something. However, Allah SWT generalizes that to include each and every thing you're doing or thinking of in life.
