again :) how to best access this trail and then how to get back to the parking (or how to pedal up to it if the parking is where it ends?) thanks!! awesome video as ever
Thanks. If you park in the gravel lot at the top of mountain highway then ride up the fireroad till you get to the top of this trail then ride down bobsled it'll exit just a little below the gravel parking along the road you drove up on. Good luck!
Hello and thanks for the great, quality videos! I've just moved to Vancouver from Calgary and am struggling with the different riding here. I'd say I'm, conservatively, an intermediate rider on a Trek Fuel ex8, and I use Trailforks, but keep ending up on blue trails in North Van and Squamish that are too extreme, have too many rocky, nasty, risky drops and too-technical ups (for me, granted). I love single-track cross-country/trail rides that are technical but ride-able equally up and down in either direction. If you happen to be familiar with the West Bragg Creek trail network near Calgary, or the Kananaskis Lakes area, or Canmore, you'll know what I mean. I think of this as flow riding. It seems the focus here is to either shuttle or grind up a gravel road, or use a one-direction climb trail, all in the name of getting to the downhills. Also, I find the pump tracks thrilling but a bit too dull. Bobsled looks like one that may work. Do you have other suggestions on the north shore, Squamish, or Whistler that will put a smile on the face of a cross-country-er like me, without all the separated shoulders and scars :-) ? Cheers!
Hehe. The Shore is very unforgiving. I'd say Bobsled, Empress Bypass and Bridle Path on Seymour, Pseudo Tsuga in Squamish and the Lost Lake trails in Whistler would be your best bet
Hey! Love this video, just moved to North Van from the UK so i'll definitely be hitting up Bobsled. Do you think a hard tail will be able to manage this route? Do you have any other recommendations for beginner mountain bike routes around Mt fromme & nearby? Thanks!
There was a lot of weight transfer rearward on that one! Almost crashed the first time I did it because the run up is short so you don't have a lot of speed and the front end wants to drop quickly.
@@TrailPOV thank you for the reply! I bought a new hard tail two months ago kona blast. Good bike. I have been hitting the watershed and thornhill a lot. Besides bobsled what would be another good run? Espresso? I’m planning on going this week.
There is a gravel parking lot at the top of Mountain Hwy. Then you have to ride up from there. Try downloading Trailforks to help with navigation. Happy trails!
Trail POV sweet! Yeah I just pre ordered the 2021 DS4 and wanted to see if these trails would be alright. Don’t wana ruin or slow the trails down for others haha. But maybe people ride their CCMs with the family and I might be well above already. Thanks for the reply and video! Liked!
It's a great trail. And beginners should have no trouble riding it. ...However, I cringe every time I see the title. I consider myself a solid intermediate... and no better. There's much to advance on on this trail; speed, cornering and drops to mention a few. ...Not (just) a trail for beginners. Bobsled is a much loved party lap to add on to a great day of riding.
Thanks for these videos! As a brand new noob I really appreciate getting a look at the trails and idea of where to start. Keep it up
Glad to hear I'm making a difference :) Hope you're enjoying MTB so far
another great ride dude
Did this today. Woot!
Nice!
Great Vid. Thank you. Will an XC bike does, to should it be a trail/enduro around North Van.?
For this particular trail an XC bike should be fine
My first and so far only MTB trail. I did it four times and was so slow that someone's pet dog overtook me. Great rail to learn on I thinkl/hope.
Just keep riding it over and over and you'll get more confident

Delta watershed is nice
@@cluelessblamer518 Looks good. Never heard of it. Thanks!
Was this the first trail you rode in North Vancouver when you got into the sport?

Hardtail should manage totally fine. Beginner routes are hard to come by on the North Shore. I'd recommend heading to Squamish for more flow trails.
Do you just ride off the drop at 1:45 or do you have to life the front wheel a little?
There was a lot of weight transfer rearward on that one! Almost crashed the first time I did it because the run up is short so you don't have a lot of speed and the front end wants to drop quickly.
@@TrailPOV Oh okay thanks, planning on hitting it at least once in my lifetime.
@@moo2249 Hopefully you can hit it more than just once :)
Can one use a standard mountain bike for some of these trails, like a Costco northrock xc27...it’s a nice bike has shocks..
While it may handle the trail, it might be an uncomfortable ride and it's possible the bike may not last long term

How beginner is this. Is a trek dual sport 4 worthy of this run haha.
Oh ya, it could do it!

Trail POV what a bloody legend. Still responding to comments 10 months later
@@romance361 That's just how I roll
The camera effect is scary it looks so much easier when your a first rider looking at this then you go on the trail.
It is very true. But keep heading down it and you'll get more comfortable with speed and steepness.
