I won't lie to you chief, I *almost* died from laughing at the entire video. Like, you know those scenes from all the Batman related tv shows, animated movies and video games where somebody dies from getting poisoned with Joker Toxin? That was me. That was, my lungs, desperately trying to latch on for air, while my heart was beating all the way into my back. To add insult to injury, I was born Asthmatic. Long story short, this was a wonderful video by Tom Christie and this was an even lovelier reaction from Kip (because he's actually "dipped his toes" in the Destiny community). Stay happy everyone.
Hey Kip, I was wondering if you could go check one of the comments of this video, you’ll find that Skeletor, makes much more sense than any other guide videos. P.S. it’s the first comment by the way, and hope you have a good new year.
Ill agree to that because its straightforward and right to the point, tom has a great thing going here and he should definitely seize this opportunity to make such raid guides narrated by skeletor
Kip, Eager Edge and Strand. a buddy and I left our entire group behind, and had to wait. we've gotten to the point that us two and a third can get to the end and build the bridge before the rest of our group catches up. Two enlightens on the bridge, and strand across the bridge once it starts to form.
Honestly Skeletor gets right to the point with ecnounter mechanics without all the extra monologue from people, as some streamers are extremely prone to, and just makes the whole thing really well understood and simple
6:49 Hell yeah, I went through the BF1 Easter Eggs for a gun, got some sick Dog Tags and a Skin too. I wanted a cool revolver and I damn well GOT my cool revolver!
FYI, in Destiny 1 Crota 2nd encounter, the mechanics introduced in D2's revision did not exist. All you had to worry about was weight of darkness and exploding lanterns. Thats it.
5:58 *Nuclear Klaxon* She's... AFK... Why the FUCK IS SHE AFK IN A RAID!? NNNNNNYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHH! Okay... I am good now... _I am calm..._ Just... Just give me a minute...
I'll tell you for free, if that pizza delivery rings the doorbell, there isn't a game in the world I won't bolt away from to go pick that up. Pizza takes priority.
6:50 as Someone that managed to beat contest and challenge Crota, the emblem is pretty sweet and I haven’t taken it off. Only downside was our triumph bugging out and we had to wait like 3 months for Bungie to give us what we earned. Definitely was worth the 16 hours straight we spent just to beat him the first time, challenge mode was easy (6 hours but we were still warmed up and knew what strategies worked) and we did finished after we got some needed rest.
This encounter is totally different from how it was in D1. In D1, all you had to do was get to the plate at the end, you didn't have to pass an orb back and forth to team mates or gather enlightenment, so the strat was to have a Bladedancer Hunter sprint through all of the lanterns to keep their weight down and make it to the plate, which would despawn all of the thralls and then they would hide behind a rock from the ogres while their team caught up or the door opened and they could pull the team by running through. When I ran this raid, this was my role because I mained Hunter which let everyone else run their Warlocks and Titans for later in the raid.
I think the thing is for me Contest Mode is one of the few times a year people actually feel challenge in the game and getting rid of that would be a mistake, do I think it was a tad hard? Absolutely, but I think the balance of Contest this time around was much better then how Root of Nightmares Contest was taken. If Bungie goes through a few balancing things then TFS Contest Raid can be even better, I feel like this was overall the step in the right direction.
beat it on challenge day 2 would have beat it day 1 but found out that one of the team members wasn't up to the level, we didn't notice on ron because it was an eazy day 1
Chalice was implemented in D1 because you had hunters with don't touch me gauntlets walking thru the entire first part an not getting touched so Bungie implemented that mechanic to prevent people from soloing it along with the timer. They were a lot more vengeful in those days.
7:47 | "...my LFG experience skyrocketed to a more positive place." You might have gotten great people, but my group and I have consistently gotten nothing but the worst of the worst the rare times that we were lucky. All the times we weren't so lucky, we got something even worse than that somehow, which as far as I'm concerned should break the laws of reality and not be possible. We can't even get a singular capable person for the easiest Grandmaster strike(s), so if we want to do something as small as that, we have to hope our other friends are online and willing to join or else we're not playing destiny that night :\
like i told you when joining you in VC last time... FUCK CROTA"S END DAY ONE. only finished the contest mode, and we had no more time left for challenge T_T ho, and fuk the first encounter's hill in particular. if i could flatten it with Void Titan punch, i would. i can guarantee that only a tiny exclusive emblem is all that it takes for me to throw myself body and soul into the soul grinder that is a day 1 raid. i don't need much more, ngl
First encounter of crotas end is class A fun is you are playing with chill people. that + eager edge is a wheeze fest waiting to hasppen in my experience.
It really is a good game underneath all the... problems. I almost expected to hear you say players with my experience with a good chunk of the halo community outside the games and cosplay. You see them just on random videos and posts and it's toxic af. I'm not a destiny guy but I know those communities often follow a company
The timing of the pause right before the "Who f--ked it?" line was hilarious.

Interesting!
Me going back to D1 is gonna be wild.
@@KipReacts oh! And fun fact: in d1, the chalice only exists as a raid mechanic in the final encounter against Crota.

@@InchonDMOkay that’s fair as long it wasn’t just a random AFK that isn’t for the legendary pizza delivery.

Crota raid was hype. I could carry a group through to the end by using the stealth hunter.
¿And where's *Skeletor Attempts King's fall* ? That one is also really Funny 😂 😂 😂
That was actually reacted to on stream tonight.

I Did D1. Back in my day: we used infinite ammo shotguns and sniper rifles to cheese it.
I didn't play D1, but I remember watching people prog this raid back then.
Skeletor Hates the Bungie Layoffs is also fantastic.
Don't feel bad, Kip. I never played D1 either. Because I had...oh you know... A PC.
2:57 So... Who fucked it?
*cries in necrochasm and catalyst grind*
Strand grapple helps against the weight of darkness as well.
Grapple is super tech there.

I went in day one with sunbracers.
You Legend. They definitely deserved that Final Shape nerf. They were way too good, and I loved them.
