4.1: Each move must be played with one hand only. 4.8: A player forfeits his/her right to claim against his/her opponent’s violation of Articles 4.1 - 4.7 once the player touches a piece with the intention of moving or capturing it.
So took the piece off the board with the left hand but made the move with one hand, the same that pressed the clock. I saw Magnus promoting the queen by placing the queen with the left hand lifting the pawn with the right hand and pressing the clock with the right hand. No violation. It appears to be legal.
No, it is not legal under standard chess rules to use both hands when making a move, including capturing a piece. According to the FIDE Laws of Chess: • A player must make their move using only one hand. • This rule applies to all aspects of the move, including capturing an opponent’s piece (removing it from the board) and placing the player’s piece on the destination square. If you use both hands during a move in an official game, it could be considered a violation of the rules, and your opponent may call the arbiter. This was Alireza’s right to call arbiter but he took action too late.
The arbiter saying that Alireza made a move, that is why he could not intervene is crazy. The man had less than 3s on his clock, what does he reckon he should do?
Apparently this is legal. The first time it happens is only a warning, but the 2nd or 3rd, that's where penalty is involved. This usually happens on time scrambles, but rarely happens on podium semi-finals. It could be seen as unsportmanship, but it's the rule, if anything else it would've been verbal warning and the position during th move was equal.
Yeah as I watching. I see wesley so capture both hands. capturing the pawn with his left hand at the same time with his right hand with the bishop. that was a violation.😅
that's not cheating, it happens in a blitz game but to be fair to your opponent he can always timely complain . besides what advantage does the player who uses both hands to motivate him to intentionally do that?
Yeah, maybe what Wesley did there was wrong. Im not too sure about the rules regarding that... Whatever it is, I think there is no shortage of controversial things happening throughout the event which deserves the same degree of emphasis and direct questioning (is that allowed?), if not more than what we are seeing here in this case. Just my opinion. But anyway awesome content.. Best chess channel on youtube! :)
Same hands clicking the clock and using to move the piece is allowed as long as you use only the same hand in clicking and moving pieces. There is no question about you used your right hand or left hand as long as you just only used one hand or same hand not both hand.
I agree. So took the piece off the board with the left hand but made the move with one hand, the same that pressed the clock. I saw Magnus promoting the queen by placing the queen with the left hand lifting the pawn with the right hand and pressing the clock with the right hand. No violation. It appears to be legal.
after the game alireza complaining, why you complaining now after the game you should complain while in the game. He didn't complaining before the game because he is winning but after the he loss now he has some guts to complain. 😅😅😅
he has seconds on his clock, you cant expect the players to register all this and stand up for themselves in that situation. It should be arbiters role to step in after seeing the infraction , not on the players
@rayaanyunus1071 yeah but after the game complaining is not reasonable. It is a excuse for a loser. In the game it is up for the arbiter but the game is intense mistakes is common. doing that one time is a warning repeating again is a penalty that is why the arbiter does not interfere
@22:54 Firouzja: You used two hands bro! Wesley: So?
😂
Wesley: I'm ambidextrous!? :)
😃😃😃
22:54 You are welcome!
Thank you! You save 20 mins of my life.
thanks bro
Thanks❤
Thx🙏
May God give you beautiful wife 🤣

Agree 👍 @@obym2619
So, Its firouza fault for not noticing and complaining before he moved his pieces
After the game:
- Alireza: Why he used 2 hands but you didnt interfere?
- Arbiter: Yes!
- Wesley: So? (and leave)

Alireza should have stopped the clock before making his move, & called arbiter. Arbiter will add time for Alireza as if Wesley made an illegal move.
NO! just a warning for the first infraction.
The arbiter saying that Alireza made a move, that is why he could not intervene is crazy. The man had less than 3s on his clock, what does he reckon he should do?
arbiters r the worst no common sense
STOP the clock. Hello
@@Zakdayak exactly ... if you dont like something you stop the clock and call the ref
@@Zakdayak have you ever stopped or tried stopping a DGT clock with 2s? 90% of the time, it is falling.
@@Alone-h6o The arbiters have to go according to the rules. Perhaps the rules should be changed, but the arbiter did the right thing.
I like the fact Wesley plays games with white lefthanded, games with black righthanded. So he always easily reach clock.
Haneep! Ganda ng airtime ni Wes, sabay tingin sa kamera bago alis!😂
I find the timestamp 😅 22:55
17:13 If you're so picky about Wesley using both hands, then what about Firouzja, who drop his King but still pressed the clock without adjusting it?
Well he resigned right after so...
@@nicololeger2667 read the rules. it's still instant lose for Firouzja
You joking right? so ridiculous, that was the last move 😂😂😂😂😂
@@jaadoogar3689 he played 1 more move after that. check again before comment.

That's cheating
It isn't allowed, and is against the rules.
23:03 Wesley casually pushing his opponent's queen away so that if it promotes it takes him more time to reach the piece... is that allowed?
Pro move
Not sure, but players always have an extra queen on their side whenever they promote a pawn they can grab it.
Bronze medalist out there playing dirty street hustler chess but all anyone wants to talk about is jeans and the co-champs.
sorry guyz can't find the timestamp
That's fine

Throat clearing noises during these games too. LoL.
This tournament violates how many FIDE rules...😂😂
Jeans...dual champion (match fixing). ..both hands move😂😂
First it was jeans, now the whole chess world is falling to pieces
I really became sad after Alireza lost.He lost because he risk to win the game in third match😢😢😢

i believe the technical term is 'sour grapes' lol
Alireza always show how he want to be dominant in every move until he strugle
Some player knocked over a piece in the game when 🎶🎶
Congratulations Wesley So
I mean everything is clear to me, Alireza Firouzja should win the match however mister So cheated using two hands move. How dare you Wesley?
Didn't So beat him three times in a row at that match?

If Alireza had only 1 more second the result was different. With increments
Wesley always be nightmare for Alireza
Vasily Ivanchuk also did this but no one wants to talk about it.
Was he in the QFs? Tsf f u
I think this is common in blitz.
They should have decided to share a victory. No drama in that case and everybody happy.
Two hands:✅
Two Champion:✅
Alireza’s focus is more on business and wealth than chess nowadays.
Same hands clicking the clock and using to move the piece is allowed as long as you use only the same hand in clicking and moving pieces. There is no question about you used your right hand or left hand as long as you just only used one hand or same hand not both hand.

it kind of trategy. Alireza got distracted
Positional players always dominant.
u can knocknout other pcs f u use just one hand in that situation
FIDE is like a lawless organization now 😂
He lost fair and square!
Nothing to complain about, that's why the arbiter ignored his claim.
Both hands are allowed as long hand that move the pieces press the clock
please have more controversy like this, so theyll upload ur game. otherwise it goes to the bin.
its blitz
Glad the cheater lost, what a disgrace to chess....he knows better....the coward
