Thanks for the honesty and straight forward approach to how to do business. We can all learn some lessons because of it.

I have heard that at least one insurance company requires self locking hooks on rollbacks. Unfortunately the ones that run to their insurance company for every little thing is one reason why our insurance is so high

I know you have started the year out rough but it will get better. At least you know how too maneuver your way back to the top!!

Handled very well. Calm is key, which is what I've found. That and I agree that insurance should only be used for the major stuff.

Those self closing hooks are ideal... plus, if you have an inexperienced driver or one that isn't detail oriented.... it's impossible for the hook to snag the end of the bed if they weren't careful to have the tip facing up. Sorry to hear your expensive start to the year.... you've finished your "3 strikes" jinx... 2 engines & a damage claim...that was 3... you're ready to get back to usual now :)

This wasnt due to line failure. His bridle was not connected properly.

It’s always good idea to inspect equipment all the time winch cables are really good and last long time if you use them correctly always use v chains so you hook on both sizes so inch it’s always pulling in the center that will prevent to have the cable all mangled and pinch that will prevent damage on the cable, that was ent the case on this one I think self locking hooks are a must on any tow truck tho

I had so many break during Police Calls, and one while i was pulling up a 4Runner from Higgins Auto Body. Lucky with the 4Runner i had the hand brake on.

Lines break because the cable tensioner is not functioning properly causing kinks or unnecessary premature wear.
