I return to Rick's trip videos every now and then!!
Rick, there is only one word to describe your trip, the views, the photographs and the music, all put together with the experience on your bike: SPECTACULAR!!! Thank you very much for sharing this masterpiece of solo bike traveling.
FANTASTIC RICK ! I couldn't stop watching your video ! I watched from beginning to end. I have motor cycled to many of the sights you showed and it brought back wonderful memories. Thank you Rick .
Back to watching it. I’ll be driving from Tennessee to LA and back again this thanksgiving, and this video is always an inspiration. Any update from this chap is welcome.
WOW.....This takes me back. 30 years ago I lived in the USA and Canada. I travelled all over the West coast of US and into middle America. The scenery was spectacular and the people I met along the way were the most hospitable I have encountered anywhere. I was based in Vancouver, Canada which I explored from West to East ( Toronto etc). I’m glad you had a safe trip Rick. 🏍
Outstanding. I have watched many of these type vids on TH-cam and this is definitely one of the best! Thank You!
Thank you for taking the time to share your motorcycle adventure. I watched the whole movie and enjoyed every mile. I live in Iowa and consider myself a long-distance rider having owned a number of bikes including the C10 and now a 2013 C14. Again, great movie.
When I was younger, I toured extensively throughout the US west; however, I was never able to accomplish as much as you did as I was nowhere near as "hard core" as you were. Well done !!
This was excellent! I watched the whole video straight through. I enjoyed your still photography as well...great composition and quality. Thanks for sharing!
Great job sir! Watched every single second of it and loved it. Those are some beautiful roads to ride on, and beautiful scenery. Regards from Europe!
Tanks for taking us along, Rick! Very inspiring. I ride in Scandinavia during the short bike season. You should plan for a trip here. It's beautiful.
I rewatch Rick’s videos all the time. Awesome videos on an awesome motorcycle
This is THE best video on TH-cam, it was absolutely stunning, amazing, stupendous, awesome, thanks for sharing
Wow! What an amazing journey. Beautiful scenery, a few bad days in the snow was ok, but never fails to rain on the way back. Alot reminded me of the spaghetti westerns and scenery as well. Glad you made it safe and without roadside breakdowns. Thank you for sharing you journey with us.
I still come back to this video every now and then. I love it!
Back in '92 I did a CC in 39 hours drive time. Left Los Angeles at 4:00 PM Thursday, got home to NJ 9:00 AM Saturday (Christmas day). That's why the rush. Taking into consideration time zone changes that's 39 hours. I never new there was an actual award for that til this vid. Many thanks for an enjoyable ride along with you.
PS, I didn't actually get the boots wet but I figure I was close enough ! You went all out, very cool.
Thanks for letting me ride along. I used to ride long distance but have not in a long time. Love those twists and turns.
I want to do this trip. This might be as close as I get, but you never know. Thank you very much for taking me there...! Great video, with excellent stills photography! Well done!
Stumbled upon your videos and I really enjoyed watching them. I have a 2003 Concours. Same color as yours. I've never been able to do a road trip on my bike but someday would love too! Thanks for sharing your trips!
excellent video, i went through part of your venture in 2016 and am going west again this summer. You are helping me decide my route, thanks and keep up the great videos and adventures!!!!
Thanks, Tom.
Be sure to check out the SPOT link in the description above to see the exact route including dates & times, speed, where I stopped each night (Green Flags). Click any dot to see details, and use the adjustments menu to increase the track detail.
Wauw, what beautiful landscapes you've got in the USA. I enjoyed the movie very much, thank you.
Rick your trip did the trick. I loved it!! This video of your trip proves what I have been saying for sometime now. America is a big country with so much to see. We should visit other countries, but America our home has a lot to offer also. Rick you have me pumped up brother. It's time for me to get my knees in the breeze. Traveling America by motorcycle is the best and I'm going for it Sir. Now what's up for 2015? Keep doing what your doing and be safe.
Dude, I think your trip inspired me and my Dad. Me and him drove all the way from Long Island, NY all the way to Riverside, WY. We stopped at various KOAs along the way including in Nebraska in the corn fields and majority of the nice one in Colorado. We did all of this on the back of the bike as well for 3 weeks riding, exploring and enjoying the view, and y'know what? It's the best trip I ever had in my entire life and like my Dad said, a trip on a bike is FAR different than a trip in a car or truck.
That's Awesome!! Great respect for the two of you. So many people talk about a grand trip like that, but few actually follow through with it. Those memories will stick with you the rest of your life and the stories will be passed down to the next generation.
Thanks for putting this together, good job! It was a fun watch for me as I had ridden many of the roads to many of the places you chronicled in this video last year as well. Utah in particular was a spectacular place for riding, nice to ride it again vicariously through your video. :)
I just stumble onto this video and I really enjoyed it. We take yearly cross country motorcycle trips and I can relate to what poor planning can lead to -lol. Great Job with this video, southern Utah is my wifes favorite part of the country to ride thru. Great music selection, imo. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Well done Rick! Your video of your epic trip is an inspiration for this Kiwi (New Zealander) to come visit your great country and do some serious riding.
I can't stop to watching it. Amazing!! Good sountrack selection (not as usually) . Thank you for share it. Greats Riccardo (Italy)
Hey Rick! Just got a Kawasaki Concours this year! Plan on putting on lots of miles. Thanks for the inspiration I love your videos!
Great Video! Quality and content is A+. Most of us only dream of such an adventure...
Great video. I love moto touring and camping the American Southwest. The corridor from Salt Lake City through Vegas down to Lake Havasu, AZ is one of my favorite rides.
Thanks for sharing the trip with us!
Aloha!
Great video!! I am from Utah and Highway 12 is one of our favorite rides that we have done several times.
I love traveling through your state!
Hoping to get back this year to see Moab.
Your films about mototrips are the best on TH-cam.

Hello from 2019!! Outstanding video! Inspiring me for my own trip this year.
I have watched this all the way through 4 times. Very well done. Even the score is prefect
Rick, EXCELLENT VIDEO,
Great to watch on a cold and rainy day in November.
Made me go out in the garage and sit on the Ultra Classic and smile.
2020 I will make a very similar trip!
Thanks again and safe riding!
Man Rick, you’re an inspiration to a lot of people!! I want to do this kind of riding myself!!
Bravo! Loved it, and saw places I've been and places I wish I had... Thanks a million for taking the time and effort to document your ride....
Thank You for sharing.
Summer '86 when I was a sophomore at Barstow High School. I worked at Baker Burger for Mr. Carter. He owned that Burger King and the one in Barstow at the time. When school started I transferred to Barstow with my good friend Jesse. Good times and Great Memories.
Well, quite a trip. Have to say through your seat and out through your eyes you showed me some of the sights I really aught to be looking at through my eyes. Thanks for a wonderful film.
Hey Rick: Out of all the biker videos i have ever seen this one is by far the best!!! This is excellent work, i thoroughly enjoyed every minute and will watch it many times over! Ride safe Bro keep your knees in the breeze!!!
I used to own a 2003 Concours but I sold it because of that incredible vibration in the handlebars so total respect for being able to ride that far with your motorcycle. aside from the Connie buzz it was an awesome bike.
Never understood all they hype on the 'buzz'. I get the typical inline 4 buzz, but nothing I would consider annoying
There must have been something wrong with your bike. I owned a 2004 Concours and I didn't notice any vibration at all or at least anything I'd consider a vibration.
I don't understand why you don't have more subscribers. Your videos are magnificent and awe inspiring please keep sharing. I'm glued to your videos. Then I go ride my F6b. Then I return and watch more 3-4 hours later 😀. Your videos make my solo rides more exciting. Great Job. The best I've discovered so far.
You make time on the 4 lanes but you make memories riding the twisty ones.👍😃
Thanks Rick for taking us along -- seen a lot I was curious about for my next iron butt ride - top shelf thanks man!
Wow what a trip , some the most amazing scenery and it all started with an serious ironbutt challenge , well done sir. Cheers 4 sharing.
Thank for letting me Visually Ride along! Great Trip Hope to see you on the slab downrange.
Superbe vidéo pour un voyage XXL ! Félicitations pour les images et la qualité de l'itinéraire.
Merci beaucoup!
I watched the first 10 minutes then I couldn't stop. Sure would have loved hearing that iconic engine, though! Got a C10 in my garage too. Too bad you skipped the GC North Rim; you were so close. The ride into the one lodge there is fantastic. This is the best travel vlog I've seen. Very well done. Thanks for posting.
I know this is the second time I have watched this through, I did a lot of your west coast roads in '08 but wasn't videoing as much as I do now. Love all your south-west footage. Making me want to plan another trip down that way.
One of the best motorcycle road trip moto vlogs......great trip.....appreciations from India!! Cheers!!
Love the twisties, glad you kept them in!!!
Just Watched in 2021 and enjoyed every minute. This was an epic journey and I envy your adventure, but I could not have done it on a bike ;-). Wife and I drove your route from Vegas around Zion, Bryce and over to Monument Valley and it was amazingly beautiful. But we cheated and flew in and back from Vegas. Stayed a night in Bluff, Ut and ate at that diner under those two standing rock formations. Thanks for the memories.
I wish I could step to US before my life ends. So beautiful country.
Have you been yet?
Come on over!
I did the same trip in August 2015. My favorite vacation by far. It was great to watch your video and see it all again! :)
What an awesome trip. Thanks for taking the time to edit and share your video. I love it!
Wow -- what a trip... Really enjoyed this; thanks for posting...
I’ve ridden many of these roads. Planning to ride a few I’ve missed. Thanks for sharing!
Rick, I don't know which one I like the best, "Your sense of humor or Your choice of music". It would be an honor to meet you and shake your hand.
Thanks, Charles!
Some people have said they liked the video but hated the music! LOL
The reason for long periods of silence is due to YT forcing me to remove some tracks of copyrighted music.
Rick the video and stills are breathtaking! Kudos to you for a great adventure.
Really have enjoyed your videos. Have watched them each more than once. Look forward to hopefully seeing more of your adventures.
I got my SaddleSore 1000 certification on my Dragster RR...Next up is a 2022 BMW 1250 R/T cant wait to hit the road...thanks for the vid!
MARVELOUS, Congratulations what a marvelous doc. I have enjoy every second. Thanks for share this. greetings from the Netherlands.
Dank je, Josef!
Great Video Rick! I have watched all of the videos you have posted and they are great. I live in Utah and it is a wonderful place to ride. It was fun to see it through another person's perspective.
Great job. My attention span sucks... I normally jump from video to video but this and your Alaskan trip I watched and enjoyed every minute. What incredible perseverance. God Bless, Stay safe.
Masterpiece, perfectly done, this is the best touring video I've seen yet, great job :)
Good job my friend. My wife and I are heading out West this August for our 6000 mile loop......hope to see some of those places along the way.
Greetings from Australia and many thanks for an excellent video. I have long planned a trip like yours and this has just made me more determined.
i love long distance bike trips, it in my blood. awesome video rick, it inspires me to get out there even more
Great movie, I´ve been in the Southwest (Nationalpark- Area) twice and it was a very stunning experience. Thanks a lot for that movie and have a good time. Greetings from Germany!
Very nice video, very details and I like the music background. I may follow your trip one day. Thanks
Great video. I'd always thought it would be fascinating to ride across America. I loved the music too
Joe here again.. that trip across Texas at night must have really challenged you. I have crossed the same path a dozen times and hated it every time. First trip I-10 was not completed past San Antonia to Ft Stockton. Made it a bit more interesting. Did trip last Sept and in a car. It was grueling. Nothing changes. At night did you have close encounters with wild life. Still enjoy watching all your trips. Watch this one couple times.
Watched this before but really enjoy the scenery and do enjoy the twisty roads on the bike.
oh my god~~it's awesome~~~really good to c a clip... I have looked for many of this type clip on TH-cam and this is actually one of the best! thanx guy~god bless u~~
Outstanding video quality!!!!! You don't talk too much either. Keep up the great work!!!!!
Thanks for the great synopsis of lots of places on my bucket list to ride. Great footage, great summary of such incredible natural wonders. I also enjoyed you nfld trip, given that I live in New Brunswick and hope also to bike there soon. I just think how fortunate if you blow a wheel bearing that it was 900 miles north on James Bay shores.
really enjoyed that, stunning scenery, well done Rick
Great video! Living in the West and being something of an adventurer myself, I recognized many of the locations you visited! Now I need to take my bike out again!
Thanks far sharing you’re adventures. . We really enjoy watching you’re videos. When are you going on your next ride Scott
Scott Bordelon - Thanks! No new rides planned.
Excellent I am not sure if this is the same Rick who did the 7 videos to Alaska if you are we did the trip ourselves and thanks to you it was successful. We traveled a lot of the same road once in Washington to CALIF lucky you avoided the CLown Motel we stayed it sucked
Hi, George - Yes, it's the same guy. Glad to hear you made the trip! Too bad about the Clown motel - I was desperate for a room that night. Ended up driving 90 miles to the next motel. If you think that motel was bad, you need to watch my Newfoundland trip video and check out the hotel I got stuck at in Ottawa! :-(th-cam.com/video/agvuvyKDFE0/w-d-xo.html
We were too as it was 8 PM thunderstor rolling in so no choice. frig had old milk and stuff stunk, floors were peeling wife and I opened the windows slept on top of the bed in our clothes. Got up early at the Dennys at the one you stayed in I should have gone for that. Glad you had a great trip I enjoyed the video
Very Nice
I watch every moment in your journey.
From. THAILAND
Thanks a very well done video of your ride coast to coast. Congrat's on that endurance challenge. Your bike must have held up very well and been comfortable riding. That was interesting scenery on your ride from Death Valley up to Baker. That's where I left off, for now. I will revisit to see more of your ride. I have to say, I love my solo rides. I'm free to go and stop along the way, as I like, no pressure from others.
The parking area just as you are leaving Zion after the one lane tunnel has a great short hike showing the valley looking up at Angel’s landing. Great view if had time. Great vid
Remarkable Trip and Best Video! Thank you for one and half hours of unforgettable experiences.
Fantastic Adventure great scenery and some good music to enjoy it with. Thanks for sharing.
Brother that's a sensational trip... stay off those dirt roads though! Lol. Now you have to go back and chase Peaks & Passes. Pikes Peak, Mt Evans, Independence Pass, Trail Ridge Road, Bear Tooth Pass, and Road to the Sun (Glacier)!!! Always nice to have something to look forward to!
Great video! Thanks for sharing. You did a great job and the trip looked like fun. I'm thinking about heading out that way soon also.
fantastic video. Really inspires to take my bike and just go. Well done and thanks.
Rick, I don't understand why you don't get more views....I thoroughly enjoy your videos. Thanks
I love your videos dude. My wife and I are riding to Deadhorse Alaska next year from Sanford NC on our Ural
Wow - what an epic ride! In a sidecar?
Well done Rick. I am in the Pacific North West and have been to several of the areas and parks you have shown, they are beautiful. Absolutely stunning scenery in Zion and Bryce National Parks...and of course the Mokey Dugway. Well done! :{)
Awesome video, diverse and beautiful scenery. Thanks
I must say this is the best video on TH-cam I ever watched the scores being played are great the 34 hour coast to coast was insane that took some guts and an iron butt 🤭
Delightful. Nothing more needs to be said, my friend.
Amazing video. I Loved every minute. of it. I live in Newfoundland, Canada. Your video of your trip here was great too.
Heading out. from Pennsylvania in August to the northwestern states on our ducati multistrada for 5 weeks !!! Love your video and have been making notes for stops !!! 😄
Sounds like fun! Note that by using the SPOT link in the description, you can find the exact location of every place I stopped, camped, etc.
Ride safe and enjoy your trip!
ricksandyfox thanks for the tip ! I am not real hip to the computer/ interweb thing I'm old 😄65 .
Nice video. You did a good job. I will keep this route and things to see on my to do list.
Dude .... this was a fantastic watch .... I keep going east on all my TH-cam videos ..... hmmmmm .
Thank for posting this .
Rick thats funny, two days rain per year. I had friends over from UK and the day we went to Death Valley it rained and was only about 50f in May.
Territory familiar to me from many years ago but your vid certainly makes me want to return on my bike. BTW, no apology necessary for the audio... with good videography, less is more. These views don't need music or narration. Looking forward in the summer of 17 to following your Newfoundland Trip, too.
