I didn't know that there was a pop quiz, so I listened again. They all sound fantastic! The Cohiba is cool just because, but the black lightening with the f holes is sweet. Send me all of these and thank you 😂
All I can say is WOWSERS! I’m just starting on my 2nd build, my 1st had multiple errors that I’m hoping I’ve learned from. Every guitar I’ve seen that you made look absolutely Top Notch. I hope I can achieve such a level on my own. Thanks so much for your helpful tips. Be well/Stay well

Grandad: Linseed oil timber once a day for a week. Once a week for a month. Once a month for a year. (Cricket bats & furniture) Beautiful timber grain & lustre, so satisfying! 🤗
Thanks for another enjoyable and informative videos. I hope to someday build a instrument that approaches your level of expertise. That said, and assuming someone hasn't already brought this up, I am now going to put on my "Mr. Safety" hat. I like using boiled linseed oil on some wood projects but I have heard / read that it contains various petroleum-based products and heavy metals to speed up the drying time. So maybe disposable gloves could be used for wipe-on applications. Another and even more immediate concern is that rags that have linseed oil on them can spontaneously combust. A couple pre-disposal methods I have read about are to let the rags dry individually (not piled up) or to soak them in water in a sealed container and then dry them out. Don't take my word on it, take a minute or so to check into this yourself.
Thanks for sharing. Though the linseed oil if it is the real thing will take some time before it is dry. Also you want to mix it with 50 % turpentine to make it get absorbed in to the wood easier.
Great stuff as always Michael, they do each have a unique sound, and surprisingly it wasn't always predictable based on pickup position. Love all of them.
Very informative and entertaining as always, Michael. For me it's a toss-up between the Cohiba and the Black Lightning. Boiled linseed oil is a great product; fairly inexpensive, easily available (in the UK at least) and makes a great finish. I've watched many videos in which musicians play raw blues with a slide- I like that kind of music, but your demos have shown that a cigar box guitar is a much more versatile instrument than many people think. Looking forward to the next one!
I used boiled linseed oil on a neck last year then decided to polish frets..tape would not stick..still won't but I like the finish..it just needs to be final step I guess..now to watch the video..thanks for the videos
Love the p90 sound,if I had to choose it probably be the pa dron love that distressed look, but in all honesty they look and sound superb.great job Michael 😊
Hello I was wondering if there is a "best" place to put the neck P90 pickup. Like halfway between the 12th fret and the bridge, or something like that? Or do you just put it as close to the neck as you can? Thanks!
Hey Michael, I use Casey Bircheood Tru-Oil, but this looks much easier and way quicker. Gonna try this for sure. Do you finish the neck and heel too, or just leave it sanded smooth? Thanks!
❤ The craftsmanship you put into your CGB's......
Thanks James. M~
Those cohiba boxes have become my favorite, but I've had problems finding them recently. Glad you could get your hands on one of those great boxes
Black lighting ⚡
Cannot decide, they are all fantastic ,good job Michael 🇬🇧👍
Thanks Philip. M~

Pencil crayons work awesome as markers on the fret board! Easy way to add almost any color you want! Great video as always!
Thanks. That's a cool idea. I will have to try that. M~
Good Idea...Will have to try it sometime down the road
They sound great but do like the black lighting. I know that take a little more time to do. Gorgeous!
Thank you, Don. Yes, its a bit more involved. M~ 😎

I like the black lightning. The f holes give it a little extra…richness might be the word I’m looking for.
Thank you Shane. M~

Thank you, Steve. M~ 😎🎸
Personally I think the undercrown sounds the best. But that's just my opinion. Great job, they all sound great. 😊
Thank you, Randy. M~

The HowITzer, of course!
Thanks Gib. I love that box. 😀
I liked them all. The Cohiba I liked best but if I listen again I’ll probably pick a different one. They all look great and sound brilliant. 👌🤔
Thanks Walter. M~
Black Lightning
👍
It seems to me that the pickups off the back give a mellowed tone. Not so bright. I like that better. The Black Lightening is my favorite
Thank you Kevin. M~
How can I WIN ...one of your 3 strings lol.... Beautiful 👍
Thanks Dan. M~
Howitzer wins best sound
the one with the f holes

I usually put mine about 1 1/2'' from the end of the box, depending on the graphics on the box. M~
@@SouthernFireGuitars Thank you, much appreciated! Love your videos.
Do you ever use Tru-oil?
Yes, I do.
Okay, 25 inch scale, tuned to Open G. What string gauges?
Nickle wound 040 030 022
@@SouthernFireGuitars Thanks! Keep up the great work (as long as you are enjoying it)!
Idk why but they all sound the same to me, I don’t have an ear for music or maybe because of this damn headache I been having all day 😂
Almost forgot… they all sound great, but I think the Undercrown edges the others out
Thank you, Richard. M~

Boiled linseed oil is like franks hot sauce….“I put that stuff on everything”!!!!
Thanks John. Just don't mix them up, cause linseed oil wouldn't be TOO good on Chicken. 😎🎸
