Update on wear: I wore Velvet Jazz to The Wiggles concert on Saturday and it wore for about 6 hours before starting to fade. I had actually forgotten that I was wearing anything as it is very lightweight and comfortable - more so than the PML ones but the PML are long lasting on me (the formula is thicker). Once I ate, the lipstick pretty much all came off. I do feel like it left a bit of a stain though!

They went around greeting fans during the performance and kids were handing them cards, drawings and other fan mail and I thought it was so cute and wondered why not all musicians do this?!

my velvet fawn also broke at the base the first time i have used it. i was even very careful with it. i have seen this happening to plenty of people with her lipsticks. made me hate her makeup line.
Thanks so much! I do think blue compliments brown eyes very well. It was the Estee Lauder x Violette La Dangeureuse palette. Sadly the quality is below what I expected but the blues in there are very pretty.

Hopefully, I can get some on the next go around. I'm super excited to see what else she comes out with.

Yes, I knew you'd have to be making a review! I've been coveting these so hard! An acquaintance let me play with Velvet Jazz and I loved that the texture was almost like a matte balm. When they're back in stock I think I might buy the trio and gift a couple to my best girl friends for Christmas.
They do! I saw you post them on your IG and they look gorgeous on you! I'm wearing Velvet Morning today and I dug into a super greasy bacon and egg sandwich for lunch totally forgetting that it was on my lips (otherwise I would have taken more care haha). It faded slightly but for the most part it's still there!
This video was so helpful! I just bought velvet ribbon hoping it would be a similar shade to the Pat Mcgrath Venom 1 lipstick. Venom 1 was my favourite red ever, so seeing it side by side with velvet ribbon was just perfect!

I also love Lisa Eldridge, she's so classy and elegant without being posh. I got velvet ribbon and velvet jazz the day they launched, and I'm so glad I did! The colors are Stunning! They wear well, they're matte but feel pretty comfortable even on my raisin lips! Funny enough all of the red/berry lipsticks I own I mainly wear as blush on my cheeks, I think it gives such a healthy, natural finish! P. S. Last thing I can never do red lipstick right, for some reason I always screw it up🤦🏻🤦🏻

Juicy, glossy lips look best, and the most flattering shades are the blue-toned reds and berries for me. I am currently loving Shiseido Lacquer Rouge RD 607, Rimmel by Kate 107, MUFE Lacquered Lipstick 206, MUFE Liquid Lip Color #13. I used to wear these full on opaque, but after Lisa's video last week, I've been tapping the color on as a stain or over MUFE Artist Plexi Gloss in a sheer pink, and I feel like I've doubled my lipstick shades!

I have been waiting to see a review on this. I want velvet ribbon. I bought a pat mcgrath's tiny sephora lipstick. Love the package but her formula is not earth shattering.
They finally got all of the pat mcgrath stuff at a sephora by me and compared to a lot of my indie makeup, I wasn't super impressed with any of her formulas. I really like her, but I think it's all a lot of hype. Kudos to her for genius marketing though.
Velvet Ribbon is a truly gorgeous classic red shade! Ahh at least you didn't splurge on a full size. Minis are a good way to try it out. My friend actually purchased the nude set for me when she was in Hawaii. I've yet to use them but they're cute.
Haha yes Pat is a marketing genius. Could you recommend me any indie lipsticks to try out? I haven't really ventured down that path! I've only tried a few from Shiro from their monthly subscription box that I used to be subscribed to.

Subbed... 😨 I would cry if I broke such a luxurious lipstick! I even get upset if I break a $2 lipstick 😰 The magnetic packaging is genius! I am a lipstick lover and I've never seen that, probably bc I mostly own drugstore. 😅 You can really see the velvet detail on the lipstick. So pretty 😍 but I can't afford these lipsticks. I'm here for the dupes. 😂

Thankfully I've only broken two and they were wet n' wild $2 lipsticks which I love but obviously not as upsetting as breaking something expensive. My immidiate thought is to replace when they're broken but then I can't bring myself to throw out a still usable lipstick so then I have two of the same color. I've kind of gotten over that and just continue using it even if it's broken. 😁
@@ivoryandgold88 Me too! As long as it's something I love, I use it until it's all used up! I did that with one of my Shu Uemura lipsticks that was discontinued. It's a gorgeous red and I couldn't bare to throw it out so I just use it with a lip brush.
Yeah, I managed to snag Velvet Jazz but not the other two. I am still kicking myself over that. Hopefully she'll rerelease them next year, with a few more shades e.g. nudes.

I don't have those shades so sorry! I did google them and just from looking at pictures I think the TF Velvet Cherry looks the most similar. Studded Kiss seems a bit darker and the Estee Lauder one looks more red than brick red.
@@melissagold2559 I think I found the exact dupes. Lancome 82 Tapis Rouge matte is like Velvet Ribbon, Lancome 507 Dramatic is like velvet jazz. There is also one which is exactly like velvet morning in Lancome matte, but I don't remember the name. If you happen to go to the makeup counter, please check for me. How does LE velvet morning compare with Pat McGrath's Elson 2? Do you have a preference between the two?
Elson 2 is more noticeably blue-based than Velvet Morning which has that strong orange base in it. I wouldn't say that they're dupes.
Did you fix your lipstick. I messed up mine too and it looks a mess. So bummed, it is my favorite.

I have been waiting to see a review on this. I want velvet ribbon. I bought a pat mcgrath's tiny sephora lipstick. Love the package but her formula is not earth shattering.
They finally got all of the pat mcgrath stuff at a sephora by me and compared to a lot of my indie makeup, I wasn't super impressed with any of her formulas. I really like her, but I think it's all a lot of hype. Kudos to her for genius marketing though.
Velvet Ribbon is a truly gorgeous classic red shade! Ahh at least you didn't splurge on a full size. Minis are a good way to try it out. My friend actually purchased the nude set for me when she was in Hawaii. I've yet to use them but they're cute.
Haha yes Pat is a marketing genius. Could you recommend me any indie lipsticks to try out? I haven't really ventured down that path! I've only tried a few from Shiro from their monthly subscription box that I used to be subscribed to.
These colours are gorgeous and I especially like the preliminary stain tests! Why are these limited edition only! Argh!
I know!! I commented on her IG that I wish these were permanent and I saw others saying the same. I hope she will take the feedback and keep them as permanent shades :-D
So, my lipsticks arrived after yours and the same thing that happened to Velvet Morning happened to me with Velvet Jazz :( maybe they're just really soft lipsticks? Any idea on how to fix it?

The magnetic packaging is genius! I am a lipstick lover and I've never seen that, probably bc I mostly own drugstore. 😅 You can really see the velvet detail on the lipstick. So pretty 😍 but I can't afford these lipsticks. I'm here for the dupes. 😂

@@melissagold2559 as a lipstick lover that makes me feel so bad. Thankfully I've only broken two and they were wet n' wild $2 lipsticks which I love but obviously not as upsetting as breaking something expensive. My immidiate thought is to replace when they're broken but then I can't bring myself to throw out a still usable lipstick so then I have two of the same color. I've kind of gotten over that and just continue using it even if it's broken. 😁
@@ivoryandgold88 Me too! As long as it's something I love, I use it until it's all used up! I did that with one of my Shu Uemura lipsticks that was discontinued. It's a gorgeous red and I couldn't bare to throw it out so I just use it with a lip brush.

I think we live in such an exciting time as far as makeup goes....Pat, Charlotte, Linda, Lisa, Natasha & hopefully Wayne giving us access to some of the most amazing makeup EVER. Hi, Do you think Estee Lauder Envy Red Ego, Tom Ford Velvet Cherry, Mac Studded Kiss is similar to velvet Jazz.
I don't have those shades so sorry! I did google them and just from looking at pictures I think the TF Velvet Cherry looks the most similar. Studded Kiss seems a bit darker and the Estee Lauder one looks more red than brick red.
@@melissagold2559 I think I found the exact dupes. Lancome 82 Tapis Rouge matte is like Velvet Ribbon, Lancome 507 Dramatic is like velvet jazz. There is also one which is exactly like velvet morning in Lancome matte, but I don't remember the name. If you happen to go to the makeup counter, please check for me. Lancome is designed by Lisa, thus I can see the similarities. Xoxo
