Intermodal trains are rare in my area, I live near the Northeast corridor, I only saw one intermodal train there, but i was lucky to get a few pics from far away!
If you get the chance, try the Jersey City, Kearney, and Bayonne, N.J. areas. I got plenty reasonable still photos, back in the pre-cellphone days, (1990's) of Conrail, and N.Y.Sq.&W. (or SusyQ). That was when well cars were just starting on the East Coast.

Thank you for the great video, I thought the thumbnail was the incredible HO scale train layout. I'm always happy when I see a union pacific train, especially an older one that says Union Pacific and not the flag. More and more I am seeing single engine lead with one DPU on the end similar to the first clip in this video. CSX has been using this configuration much more along their old RF&P main in Virginia. I understand the benefits to this configuration, but it is still an interesting contrast to the usual multiple units on lead.
Nice! Up here in Michigan, CSX runs a pair of Pacer/UMAX trains that almost always has UP and occasional KCS power. They are Q131 (Salem, IL (UP) to Detroit, MI) and Q132 (basically the return trip). Their traffic originates in Mexico on the KCSM and then goes to Texas on the UP. The Texas-Illinois legs of the intermodals use the symbols by the names of IMXDT (Mexico City to Detroit) and IDTMX (Detroit to Mexico City). Awesome videos man!!
awesome video mike i will say i see up stack trains in my area pretty often in the summer but i think you for your "train talk" should get back to the different types of freight locomotives
As always mike a superb video😀one question though can you please add description or captions describing the type of 🚂 the builder how much horsepower does the locomotive 🚂 have and the tractive effort countinous and starting tractive effort
Hey CoasterFan 2015 can you explore the NYC subway it is the largest subway system in the world with over 27 subway lines, 472 stations, and over 6,500 subway cars and goes throughout the 5 boroughs of NYC
intermodels are probably my fav type of freight train
Nice! They're pretty neat trains.

I Love intermodals for so many reasons. Like looking at all the colors going by, the variety, how they haul a lot of the goods we need and own, etc.
Great video with UP. (;
Thanks! :)

Got some of these UP Intermodal Trains myself. Got them in Wyoming, Utah, and Idaho.
Nice!
On 2:15 this reminds of Maricopa!
It's on the same line about 200 miles to the west, but very similar scenery!
Thank you very much for the video. I hope I do see you on down the line. Have a great weekend. Keep bringing us your fantastic videos. ❤️

I’ve seen couple of them in my area, including the others in Dallas, and Mineola

It has been rare, particularly on the western RRs to have single unit leaders. But yes, I've been seeing it more frequently too.
I only see BNSF Intermodal trains around my area
I will probably do a video on those at some point too!

8:06 What station is that? That UP train is moving really fast!
It's a Frontrunner station near Ogden, Utah. I am forgetting the name at the moment, but I believe it is two stops from the end.

Where I am, the only freight trains I see are intermodal. I don’t see any other type of UP freight other than the occasional rock train. Why is that?
He never got that video for last year maybe he needs to post that for TH-cam

UP really needs to learn the concept of caring about their image. so many of their engines look hideous at this point in time.
