  • usually addressing your ignition timing can seem like a pretty daunting task if you don't know what you're doing what's cool is Kawasaki thought it would be a good thing to let you have another parameter to adjust to Taylor your writing style and when you take off your ignition cover the stator plate has three hash marks on the left side with an arrow on the plate itself pointing to those those lines lines mean bottom mid top as far as complimenting your bike's power by adjusting advancing or retarding your ignition timing now this three lines are the safe range you can operate in between and if you retard too much there's consequences if you advance too much just consequences the most detrimental being pre-ignition and detonation so if you advance your timing and you hear a lot of pinging and knocking go back down anyways to keep this short and sweet usually the extreme polarities of each end of the spectrum is a situation where you don't want to be in any adjustment you always want to be somewhere in the middle so you can go either left or right instead of being forced to go one way and you don't have enough slack there's many examples but in my trials here I've tried all three and the middle line set from the factory is the best in my opinion it gives the most balanced power from the bottom middle and top and it's just a better overall setting in my belief cuz obviously 125s are down on torque so you really can use as much torque as possible and I didn't find the top end lacking really anything when compared but I did notice the mid-range liking when it was at the most advanced so just letting you guys know if you want to tinker with that it's not much of a difference to be had but there is slightly but the middle setting really is the best thanks for your time
