Fort Hare principal appeals for protection

University of Fort Hare Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sakhela Buhlungu's bodyguard was shot dead on Friday night in what is believed to have been an attempted hit on the academic. Higher Education Minister Dr Blade Nzimande and Daily Dispatch deputy news editor Yanga Soji weigh in.

Wonder what those saying "a chancellor needing security" smoke? So sad to say this, we all need security in SA, or should I say I need security. My house has been burgled into, car hijacked, attacked, phones, money stolen etc etc. Now tell me why shouldn't I have security if I afford or someone can pay for me. RIP to the security guard, a soldier usually dies in his work.

Dragging your feet is not acceptable, the SAPS not arresting suspects is plain negligence!
If someone was suspected of attempting to assassinate you Mr.Minister & you had named suspects, they would have been arrested straight away!
