Not only do some Thais look Filipina/o, there are many cultural similarities. It's been said that "when dealing with Thais, trust is always an issue." That seems to be true with many Americans and Brits, as well, but I think Thais and Filapina/os take it to a different level. Maybe it has something to do with them seeing us as outsiders, which does happen in the US between people of "different races."
There's also a very extensive grapevine in most any Thai community, including the red light districts. If you bar fine a girl on Friday evening, you can bet that by Saturday morning everybody in the area knows it. Another thing I've noticed is that it's hard for a foreigner to pit one Thai against another. If a bargirl rips you off, and you complain to the cops or mama san, I wish you luck with that:-) I would guess it's the same in the PI.
And there's that passion thing. OMG! Thais don't like confrontation, but they will get very edgy if you push a hot button.

I think you hit the nail on the head when you said that clingy=control. I would add one more thing, just because she doesn't want you to see other girls does not mean she is not seeing other guys. They are hypocritical with their jealousy.

Philippine women will also butterfly knife you if you tell them you want to get married then butterfly with other lady's , best to be honest you there to have fun if short visit, also the coconut hotline they track you with family and friends, and the little sister that lives with her is her daughter.
True about control...my girlfriend in Dumaguete was sleeping so I thought I would go to 7 eleven to buy a few things and I was surprised to see her come in the store. I was not cheating I just wanted some time to myself. I was there for 3 weeks and she was my shadow. But I still love her as she’s

They are sneaky. It took my friends girlfriend to track down the true story of someone who I was dating. It was hidden well and I could not find the truth but my friends girlfriend found all the evidence to make my girlfriend become my ex. If anyone thinks they can hide a secret from them think twice and then think again. They will find something no matter how well you hide it.

A couple of other things I like is that Filipinas are very adventurous. They are down for what ever & willing to exploring where ever you can imagine. Also, they are very supportive. If you have an idea about doing something or starting some venture, they will say; "Yeah...Okay, You can do it...Just be careful!!!"🤣🤣 They create a ride or die unbreakable bound between the two of you that only gets stronger as time past. On the flip side, there are some sharks that will eat you alive!!!

Calvin, that is great knowledge. One thing I do know is that there have been two (2) female Presidents of the Philippines. President Cory Aquino and President Gloria Arroyo. Now back in the day in 1991. I knew Filipina are all what you said. I just was so surprise. Because they were so different from the Japanese and Korean women I dealt with. I respected the Filipina concepts. That is why I favor them so much.
Yeah, agree about the henpecked. Most foreigners do not see that side of the Filipinas. The common knowledge among foreigners is Filipinas are submissive. I however know some Filipinas who exactly the same as you have described as "freak control". That is why Filipinos have the term "Andres de Saya" which literally means under the dress or henpecked. We Filipinos see and hear it a lot among ourselves.

@@crazygringo9028 there's a fine line between a jealousy (which i think is pretty normal) and controlling. You had friends you've known before you met her. Being with her shouldn't mean you stop talking to your friends. We Filipinas would appreciate it if you ask us what's making us jealous then give us an assurance that there's nothing to worry about 😊

Quite alot of them get 'chubby", as they describe it. Eating rice 3 times a day causes "rice bellies", as I describe it
My wife’s family has a farm near Bacolod and it’s been nearly 3 years since we’ve been there, we’re supposed to go Dec 17 but covid cancelled that..in these last 3 years 2 of her 3 sisters and a few cousins have gained a significant amount of weight.
A bowl of rice 🍚 is about 56g of carbohydrates. Then, they eat that with a side of bread 🍞. More carbs. It all turns into fat.
What I noticed is even if they are not chubby, the high carb intake causes wrinkles and the skin to loose its supple appearance.
I’ve found most of the chubby Pinoys live in the bigger cities and eat western food along with Philippine food. Go to the provinces, you don’t see many chubby Pinoys 😎

8);Filipinas are great actors. Ask them how they’re doing. Almost always they;say “fine.” They never want to seem vulnerable. Even when they are obviously in pain.
9) They can keep secrets.min disagree with you on this point.. And their family will help them if it keeps you. I have a friend who just found out his wife of 14 years has a daughter. Who turns out to be the woman living with them, she told him was her niece.

Yes, I could see how she could keep that secret so long, as they all have such a large extended family. Wow, that means the other family members lied about knowing who she was, too.
I dated a Filipina who said her sister died, and that she was taking care of niece, who was about 3. Come to find out it was her really baby. Just shows the extent that some will go to try to cover up their past.

We live close to the disputed Muslim area. Having said that we keep to ourselves and mix only locally.

Guys never underestimate filipinas especially with technology and social media. Always be a gentleman and respectful, don’t try to be sneaky you will get caught. She will have 2nd or 3rd accounts or have fake profiles to bait you or her friends or family will test you and watch you. Don’t do it. Don’t be a player. You want to live the single life that’s fine do that all you want but be honest about it. Once committed be committed.
Also protip, tip the scales back in your favor. Best advice is get her a phone and add it to your plan. That way if she has multiple accounts that you don’t know about you can find out if you’re the main person in charge of that plan. They live on their phones, trust but verify especially at first. She’s doing it with you anyways it’s only smart and fair to do the same.
Useful tips, again :) As for #1, it's tough. It's not just money and material stuff, it's them being treated nice. I've never been in the Philippines, but I've experience that... even with local Western gals. It's the dilemma between being happy with what you are as you live in a sort of blissful ignorance, or at least getting a taste of something awesome but it's taken away. Pros and cons in both. BTW over here, I hate when a woman wants to know it all while sharing nothing. Zero tolerance. Yet I'd endure it in the Philippines for a while since it's different there. Can you actually get "inside help" with a least one or two members of the family you bond with, such as a brother or cousin? Without that, it's way too easy for locals to keep us at a distance and in the ignorance of things the gal doesn't want you to know...

So true about the Filipinas eating a lot. I was with my girl down in Surigao, meeting the family for the first time and she was like, “hey we need to eat the free hotel Tavern breakfast buffet real quick before we go see my sister-in-law who has a crab feast waiting for us, then another trike ride to my Nannay’s family house for some lunch before we take the island hopping boat to the Mount Baragaban people beach Lechon beach feast then after the beach party it’s back to my families property to go over to my uncle’s house for more fish n rice and lumpia, then we can go back to the Hotel Tavern resort bar and order sisig ( pork) and drinks while we dance to the live band and then retire to our hotel suite and order room service!). I was like God damn, I gained 10 pounds in one day! Hahahaha! Luckily I got to burn a lot of calories through sexercise. 👍
