Once you know where the steering wheel is in relationship to the rudder, simply wind a few turns of colored tape at top dead center of your wheel. That way you can tell at a glance where your rudder is... worked well on our 36' sailboat. Glad to see another video, prayers that all is well or will soon be for you!

Watching you get you boat ready for winter makes me glad I live in Queensland, Australia. Our 'winter' where I live is 2-3 weeks of cooler weather and that's it!

Hey, I was thinking, instead of using the plexiglass to cover the entire "whole" why not make a wooden frame with a smaller window in it so you can still see the cables and support the plexiglass so it doesn't crack and the shore power plug is better supported. It would also match the wood theme you are going for. Love your boat and I can't wait until spring. Good luck with all the small project until then.

Great idea with the plexiglass to see your steering angle, did you know they sell rudder angle indicator gauges? Don’t know how hard they are to install.

a tip from Italy, do not use plexiglass, as you have seen it can be broken, but use a polycarbonate panel

IT is more like amazing what you do with all your rustbuckets.
Maybe you should finish the out side of All your boots before investing to much in the inside. The big bot will rust because that what xou put on the many holen eine not hold long. Good Lack to you

When drilling plastic you’ll find it very brittle. Always better to use a pilot hole and a rubber washer when screwing into plexiglass to avoid it cracking. Also use a drill specifically for plastic.

You know: The plaxiglass doesn't crack for beeing too thin - it cracks for heat movements. As it expands or substracks, Your screw holes must have enough space for the movement. Just as a hint.

You are fortunate to be on a lake and not in a saltwater environment. I often wonder how long your connections would last and if you know how to prepare for more adverse conditions.
Regardless your skill and adaptability coming from a landlubber are evident and most jobs are well executed.
    Congratulations and well done!

Greetings from Finland. You don't need to add anything in the fuel. It works just fine after one winter as it is. I own 2 boats and don't know anyone who puts additives in their gas tanks for the winter.

Seen a lot of boats with a leather or small rope wrap placed at the top of the wheel signifying the neutral position of the rudder.

Upstate NY here, not far from Buffalo NY and Niagara Falls. Any boat in a lake or river without a bubbler would be crushed here, I think. Ice gets pretty thick. Lake Erie freezes completely over most years. Almost all boats are yanked out and stored. If they're too large to be dragged out, they're protected with systems to prevent the ice from reaching the hull. Your film making has improved quite a bit. Your project is so far alone, compared to where you were last year at this time, and the attention to detail is inspiring, keep up the good work!

most people have a marker on the wheel that allows them to know where the rudder is. When you put the marker on then turn the wheel to full Port and count the markers turns, and then Starbord and do the same. Also if you have not done so not, a hydrolic steering system with a LCD monitor can asist better with ease of steering and the LCD will show the location of the rudder

At 8:12 on your video it shows the hull of your boat.
I can see the drain hole is in crazy condition. You may want to update that and of course remove it while the boat is in storage.
Additionally, would those rear trailer beds work better if they ran front to rear rather than left to right? In its current layout all the pressure/support are on two contact points rather than the full bed plate. It may not mean much while the boat is just resting on the trailer but one good bump while travelling is going to exert a lot of pressure on those two points.
