Progress doesn't mean that you start ignoring the fall in the no. of livestock over years, because that would be so capitalist. It's bad that people don't consider the scientific and economic reasons of protecting livestock, they just see it as a political or hindutwa move.
India is not suffering anything on account of cows.. taking land away from other animals and building things on it is not progress. You are the same people who are fine when they are giving milk but when they can no longer give milk and are left they will roam because animals also have a right to do that
