- It is with great sadness and happiness that we say goodbye to a true gem in the safariLIVE team, Jamie Paterson. Her adventures with WildEarth have taken her from the bottom of the Molwati to the top of the Oloololo Escarpment. Thank you for all your wonderful words, sightings, wisdom and knowledge Jamie. You will be sorely missed! Be sure to join us all for Jamie's last Sunset Safari on Friday, 15 November.
This brought such a lump to my throat, really going to miss Jamie, but know she will make an amazing vet. I wish her every success for the future

I'm actually writing this with tears falling down my cheeks. Jamie you are such an amazing person with a beautiful 💓 an wonderful sense of humor about things. You have such a wealth of knowledge and it was such an honor and pleasure getting to know you and learn from you on the Safari Live... Much ❤️

Dear Jamie, My heart is broken 😢💔but, please don’t tell my wife!! Lol I have been a SafariLIVE addict for almost 4 years now and I feel like I know you and all the other guides personally! I love all the wild animals (especially the Elephants)!!! The way you and the other presenters share your vast knowledge and understanding of all the animals, as well as Africa, is absolutely incredible! I am retired/disabled, so more than likely I’ll never get the chance to visit Africa and go on a real safari, but I feel like I have been on one for the last four years, thanks to SafariLIVE! Your love, compassion and dedication for all the wild animals will make you an awesome Vet...Best wishes on your next “Safari”, Dr. Paterson...
Gahhh, I wasn't planning on being a blubbering mess this morning, but I guess plans change. Jamie is going to be so sorely missed by us all. I am so excited for her, chasing her dreams. She is going to be such a phenomenol Vet! Good Luck beautiful soul. We're all so happy for you and can't thank you enough for all you've given us over the years with WildEarth.
Oh wow, I remembered so many of those moments with Jamie! I don’t get to watch very often anymore but I was always happy to hear Jamie’s voice when I did tune in because so many of the guides I started with back in 2015 have moved on. It was all her time with the djuma hyenas and babies back in late 2015 (remember November, d1, d2 etc?) that flipped my views on that wonderful species and made me love them! So many wonderful memories of Jamie and the other guides who have taught us so much and brought us all to the African bush! Fare thee well sweet Jamie and best of luck with your studies! Keep in touch with your fans on the ‘gram😊🥰!
We will miss you, but I wish nothing but success in your education goals Dr. Patterson!

It's just not going to be the same without you Jamie. You can tell you were born to have a career ( or should that be more likely said a labour of love) that was fulgent with Flora and Fauna. Not only do you have a real passion for wildlife but you have a practical compassion for all 'Creatures great and small.
Some people change once they've been in front of a camera for a while. You never did. You remained real, personable and genuine.
I know we still have Trishala and Lauren on Drive with us but you were one of the first female presenters, along with Tara and occasionally Nicky ( hope I spelled her name right) . The reason why I mention that is because it's important for young girls and young ladies out there to see people like you working in fields that have been traditionally male. You Jamie have been an inspiration for girls and young ladies everywhere. You have proven they can work as a wildlife guide and do that job just a well as any man has done it. You deserve a great big Thank You for that inspiration alone.......

That was just amazing.... sometimes you forget that it’s a possibility these guides could leave us. As we all know....nothing is forever but we wish it could be. The other day Jamie, I asked a question and you said “if” you become a wildlife vet... There is no IF, you WILL. Jamie, I know you will do great things no matter what. Just know we will miss you terribly. But I’m sure we will catch you on PDTV. Thank you for your extensive knowledge and all the memorable sightings we have experience through you. Thank you for all the questions you answered for me. This video was perfect. If it doesn’t bring a tear to your eye I don’t know what will.... love you Jamie!!!! 😞💕🌻

Jamie will be greatly missed by all SafariLIVE fans, me included. Her love and enthusiasm for the animals is clear to all and her knowledge of them and her ability to impart that knowledge to the kids at school is remarkable. I've only been watching SafariLIVE safari for the last six months, but even in that short period of time, there have been many extraordinary sightings she has provided for me, ranging from the excitement and drama of a hunt to the hilarious sight of that baby elephant trying to deal with an itch in a tricky place at Chitwa Chitwa Dam that have marked her contribution out as outstanding. I have no doubt that Jamie will excel in her new life as a veterinary practitioner as she has in her guiding career and I wish to take this opportunity to thank her and wish her all the best of luck for the future.

Safari Live came into my home with Jamie Patterson. I was hooked from that day watching the 3 hours of commentary and visuals of African wildlife. Although some credit must be provided to Safari Live staff to bring this feature on Air to living rooms across the world, no one made this more educating and enjoyable experience than Jamie. We all contributed in so many different ways to continue to watch Safari but I for one, never did imagine that we would be losing Jamie Patterson. This is a sad day for me to see her go, and maybe will never see her again on my screen. But nevertheless, Good things & people don't stay for ever. "There are miles to go before I rest" I guess, is Jamie's thoughts that she decided to leave. So farewell my friend, and wishing you the best. Im certain you will continue to charm people with your knowledge and "smiles" in your new destination. And Thanks so much.

After watching the movie, tears start to fall again. My first SL episode was with Jamie in 2016, and I was hooked, my first question was answered LIVE by Jamie about an injured lion, I have a screen shot of it, you will be missed Jamie! Thanks for making mine and everybody else's SL experience an absolute joy to watch!!

Jamie, your love for Africa and all of the animals of Djuma comes through in every one of your drives. I will always remember the swimming elephants, the newborn sliding elephant, and the Sunday morning we listened to the local congregation singing as a monkey watched with us from the branches above. I will miss you. Safe journey!
