  • It was a rough 4x4 ride in 4 low with rear locker engaged to get to the takeoff point for this mountainside hike.
    This video taken in southern New Mexico features the following:
    - Ron talking about Oak Island Templar similarities to possible shaft at the Lost Adams Gold Diggings
    - Discussion of huge fault line at the Diggings which is likely related to the gold deposits; the importance of springs is mentioned
    - Ron's description of the colonial Spanish beam and huge number of horseshoes (Adams' party horses) at the cabin site
    - Large tree branch with signs of rubbing or wear from mining over the confluence of the two main streams at the site
    - A view of an undocumented mine cave found in the Caballo mountains where the video was taken; the granite in this area has not been explored or named yet by geologists
    - What happened to the Bob Lewis and B.F. Pettibone business cards found hidden in the corner of the stone cabin they inhabited when they were searching and found the massacred supply party skeletons and their packsaddles

      @Carl Sowell Don't wait for me - get out there! And, start reading & researching. A LOT goes into research before I hit the field, though I do just go wander sometimes. There's always something to see, if you have the Eye. I can spot old trails and roads going 75 mph on the interstate, now that I know what they look like, and have spent the time to verify. That's the thing with Google Earth for example - just a toy unless you get closed-loop on matching that you see in GE with in-person experience. After that, you can be much more sure of what you are looking at in GE.

      @@lostadamsgold I live in the North West but you are in the interesting part of the country. By the way, what part of the country are you from?

      @@carlsowell8099 School days and some professional career were in Oregon and Idaho. Relatives in WA now, too. I get up there a bit. Plenty to go looking for up there. Even some Spanish stuff - one I can think of is near Rocky Bar. I spent time in my youth homeschooled in a cabin with no modern conveniences up in that gold country.

    Interesting. Would have been great if you gave some description of what your conversation was actually about.

      Way too much background to cover in a short video. For basic into google "Lost Adams Gold Diggings" and you'll find a ton of intro stuff. This channel and video are more for those who want info they won't get with the re-tread rundowns.

      Autotek agreed. I have 20 cache hunts on very well researched sites here in the Midwest on the calendar. It’s not the southwest but we are surrounded by millions in every part of the country! What state you in

    What book are you speaking of when you mention the Spanish beam?

    • @lostadamsgold
      @lostadamsgold  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi @Pete Sims, the book is Return to the Lost Adams Diggings by Paul Hale - it's about Paul Hale and Ron Schade, the latter of which is the guy in this video.
