I love pigeons in general and the fancy ones really fascinate me. I am with you. That said, my opinion with Jacobines, yes they look amazing but I think we humans have gone too far to develop it that way. I didn't know they can't fly but I believe the reason is that they can't see since they don't have the normal vision angle that ordinary pigeons have. How can it fly while it cannot see except a little at the front? When these birds are exposed out of their comfort zones, they won't survive for a day, easy pickings for hawks and other animals to take advantage of. We love to see its beauty but disregarded its survival. Bty, I enjoyed your video esp. your comments and knowledge about these birds. Cheers!!
I've raised a lot of Pigeons. A very beautiful bird. At the same time, it's sad that humans take any animal and breed it to the point that it can no longer do what Mother Nature intended it to do. Fly, take care of it's young and live happily. It's all about Popularity as a breeder, making a name for yourself, and money. No matter what the cost to the animal itself.
