We made a foil bubble wrap cover to go around our pop top canvas. On the higher parts at the front, we put plastic on the corners to prevent it from sagging, then used the foil tape over it to hold it on. Then, at the back, we had it over lapping with velcro fasteners. It was extremely easy to make. We also put tape on all the edges to prevent it from getting damaged and to make it look nicer, too. It makes a huge difference in the hot or cold. It also gives extra protection from the rain, especially if your bedding is touching the canvas. It's cheap and extremely worthwhile doing it.
Thanks Janine, that’s a great idea I have made a similar thing for our Sainsbury’s van windows for the Arctic and they make a huge difference, even got to play around with a thermal camera and the difference was crazy with them in and not.

Wow everything is coming together nicely, some great tips for doing the boarding of the floor and the carpeting 👍TTT was very impressive 😂 looking forward to the next installment 👍🫶🍻
Insulating and putting in the sub flooring isn’t the fun or exciting part of the build but it’s so important as you well know. Keeping the heat out or depending on the situation, in the vehicle as well as noise insulation can be a huge deal. If the vehicle is loud, creaky and uncomfortable then it doesn’t matter how good it looks. For the record it looks absolutely sick. 👍I’m interested to see what additional insulation you put around the engine bay to ward off the heat and noise. (Beyond what you’ve shown). Maybe a custom but easily removable console lined with additional insulation. With compartments and drink holders it would be a cool addition. I always look forward to your next vlog and haven’t yet been disappointed. Cheers from Florida 🌴🌴🌴☀️
Congrats on the production guys. Looks like a tough week for you both but you still made it hugely entertaining. TBT watched now for a walk in the rain 🦮
Hello John & Jess , what a great show of skills, banter with lots of laughter. Though the sound proofing of the interior has taken a lot of effort and time, it will be so well worth it! Best wishes from Lincolnshire
With the polycarbonate sheet for the solar panels, if it does still overheat you could put a line of laptop fans along one end to blow air through the channels.

Well, I would rather tourists speak to me in English than trying to speak Norwegian.
This build is really quite amazing. The quality and workmanship is on another level. Love what the both of you are doing. T
Thanks Terry it’s finally coming together now 😊
The rivet gun has shown itself to be such a useful purchase, I think it has allowed you at least 5 more tool purchases.
😂😂😂 honestly one of the best tools in the shop now 👌👍

No, Jess, don't let him get no.14. I'm married to David, a retired mechanical engineer. We're trying to downsize, and it'll take 3 years to clear his "treasure" from the workshop, metal shed and garage. Send help, please. 😂 Love your vlogs from a fellow "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em". ❤
😂😂😂 David sounds like my kinda man 😂👌👍
Erm... sometimes I'd be willing to let you have him. Xx😂❤
Has to be one of the dopest builds currently on our sunblessed island. Smashed the nockers off it guys!!
😂😂😂 thanks very much 👍
Ah it's Saturday morning, it's 7am it's time for Tea, Toast, True Blue Travellers, Triple T and some "nice bits of kit for the workshop". Sorry General I even love Jon's jokes! Fair play Jess you're a "nice bit of kit for the workshop" you've got some skills Lady!
😂😂😂😂 I’ll take that one, 😂😂 thanks very much 💙
Another amazing video of big red 😊looking great from you both what you have done. Been learning so much from you both. Thanks for all the laughs and giggles 💙
That’s so lovely of you to say thank you and so great to hear it’s helpful 💙
Of all the tools on this channel…. That vertical panel saw is SUCH a flex.
How on earth John managed to get that one past I have absolutely no idea 😂
I believe that saw was discussed during the Sainsburys van build. 😉
😂😂😂😂 I had to get that one in early otherwise I don’t think I would have 😂😂👍
You two are a brilliant bit of kit for the workshop. Thank you and God bless you and your family and America 🇺🇸
Thanks very much 👍
Thanks Andrew, it is awesome you are able to live your passion.
I always say nothing is free... There is always a cost be it money, time, opinion, watching ads, honesty, integrity, respect, brand name growth or loss, reputation and so many more there is always a cost in life.
Support the little guy I try. Sometimes the cost is much much, however you get what you pay for.
Cheers.
Saturday started off good when watching you guys
Thanks very much 😊👍
its been three months already?! my lord, time flies when you're listening to constant dad jokes hahaha
😂😂😂 pmsl
Wow everything is coming together nicely, some great tips for doing the boarding of the floor and the carpeting 👍TTT was very impressive 😂 looking forward to the next installment 👍🫶🍻
Thanks Matt 😊👍💙
you pair are off the chart, keep up the great videos.
Thanks 😊😊
Beautiful work
Thanks 👍
Thanks!
Thank you ever so much for this it’s so kind of you 💙💙 and very generous we really appreciate it 😘
@@truebluetravellers You're more than welcome, it's well worth it for the laughs and seeing the incredible build!
Thanks very much Jim, yeah hoping the biggest difference is with the noise, just need to work out how to give it some more ponies now
Congrats on the production guys. Looks like a tough week for you both but you still made it hugely entertaining. TBT watched now for a walk in the rain 🦮
😂😂😂 thanks mate give the pup a pat from us 😊👍
That was my poem 😁
😂😂 was a belter 😂👍
Hello John & Jess , what a great show of skills, banter with lots of laughter. Though the sound proofing of the interior has taken a lot of effort and time, it will be so well worth it! Best wishes from Lincolnshire
Thanks John, definitely mate, hopefully we won’t need ear defenders any more when driving 😂
👍🏼best video to date 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼thank you
Thanks mate 👍
Love it guys! This is the first TH-cam video I've watched in my truck conversation here in Aus!
Thanks very much, what have you got ?
With the polycarbonate sheet for the solar panels, if it does still overheat you could put a line of laptop fans along one end to blow air through the channels.
Great idea that 👍
I always enjoy your episodes, they never fail to bring a smile to my face. 😉😊👍
Thanks mate 😊👍👍
