    I like the richlite better, but I really like all of the sheath and steel upgrades. I am a little concerned the pronounced handle jimping leaves crevices for blood and gunk to get in while skinning game.

    Love the new S90V richlite blades, they’re phenomenal cutters, and I have the new Hidden Canyon Hunter, but there’s no way to carry it on my belt, which sucks. I’ll either buy the aftermarket Kydex scout carry sheath I’ve seen at BladeHQ, or try and talk Benchmade into selling me that nice leather sheath. OR keep the cool boltaron orange/black sheath and rig up a paracord harness for it. BM just says they’re setup for a pack.
    Now since I have a bunch of Bark Rivers and a new S35VN ESEE 4 3D, (and a BK 16) I have to see if I “need” this Saddle Mountain Skinner, as I’ve heard it’s like a giant razor with that long blade snd new edge profile..
    Thanks for the great review!

    One of the biggest things for me is cleaning my knives after field dressing an animal. I’d prefer that they do away with cosmetics that invite the collection of debris, such as the wavy spines. While it looks good, I can’t help but think about all the blood, fat, etc. that will collect in there, dry, and be a pain to clean out.
    For me, I’d prefer minimal checkering on the handles and for everything to be mostly smooth so that debris cannot collect.

    Z- Great channel. I just subbed. I had heard about you, but as you know there are a lot of channels out there. BTW- Most of my fixed blades are Bark River. I just love their knives. Keep up the good work.

    This is a specular Benchmade Hunting Knife series. I'm looking to upgrade and these are certainly at the top of the list. The only thing better would be to show the knives in action during your buddies hunt -but TH-cam would take that down and demonetize it. My favorites are the 15017-1, the 15002-1 and the 15500-1 The MeatCrafter from your June video.

    I just bought the 15400 Benchmade Pardue Hunter, a few months back. So I'm good for a while.
    I love seeing these S90V options, that's for sure.

      Hey Matt- curious, do you have the Hidden Canyon w/ the S90V steel? If so, I'm guessing the blade retention is impeccable but have you had to resharpen it yet? If so, was it difficult to sharpen?

    • @nicholasmoore2499
      @nicholasmoore2499 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Personally I would not use any of the knives in this video for Bush craft. Using it for lighter work, maybe. There are better and cheaper alternative knives on the market that are meant to be beat on. I would recommend a high carbon steel blade that’s less prone to breaking while in use. It’s a great knife, I just wouldn’t trust that blade holding up to that type of task.
