I miss the good old days when Australia used to air heaps of these claymation that I used to watch as a kid. But out of all of them this one sticks out in my mind as my favorite. This show was awesome and very cleaver. If only the series was continued.
Best children's show ever. I know EXACTLY why I remember this series as being so awesome. Thank you so much coredor for uploading these episodes, I've relived part of my childhood thanks to you!!
Thanks for uploading these, like many other commenters this show is a cherished Aussie childhood memory of mine! I was only 5 when this was on TV, can't have seen it more than once (or was it repeated a few times?) I can't believe that the scenes, stories and voices have stayed so fresh in my memory for all these years! A sign of a fantastic show for sure, brought a tear to my eye.
Last time I watched this I was about 5 years old and I still remember being really inspired and moved by it. The part where the living chunk of planet comes through stuck with me all this time.
Yes, although it was a "digital" information transfer, as opposed to "analogue", that means that the copy of Plasmo should be identical, but it did open the way for philiosphical disputes between the characters about whether the Plasmo that manifested out of the "fax" machine was in fact the real Plasmo, or just an imitation. I agree it is a shame that the series was not taken up for a second series by the ABC as it was just warming up with regards to the depth of these characters.
Man, this series really deserved to be renewed. Now I'll always wonder why Plasmo wanted back to his home planet, since at the beginning he wanted to go into space.
What a great comment! The clunky stop motion style has a certain appeal, however it also requires gigantic skills and resources to pull it off. A series in 2D or even CGI isn't outside the realm of consideration. With 2D the design and script work would be of prime importance (ie special effects take a back seat as there aren't really any special FX in 2D are there?)
The planets occupants built their cities into the cracks and ravines that emanated from the main impact hole, so when the comet returned the chunk, no aliens were hurt, as that part of the planet remained uninhabited.
Even today, the ending is a little bitter sweet even for me....the planet was saved and returned to the way it was but Plasmo and his friends would be stuck there forever and never return home......
Looking at it now, the CGI is pretty rough, but that was probably one of the most inspiring scenes ever in a cartoon. It's a pitty about the spaceship though. I liked that spaceship.
@JoanuMostrafta They evacuated to orbiting satellite buoys when alarm sirens sounded at 25 minutes to go. But unfortunately this would not all fit into a five minute episode. This is the reason why a new series needs to be made.
SavageHoax it’s called a cloud tank effect. Basically a big fish tank filled halfway with water made denser with sugar or salt. Top half or plain water. Paint is ejected into water and it hits dense layer and rolls across it. Filmed in slow motion, then composited into scene.

I guess if there was going to be a 14th episode, it might be about Plasmo and the gang searching for spacecraft dealership on Monjotroldeclipdoc (I'm just speculating here, it is really up to Anthony to decide on the future of the Plasmo series)
Well, I've just finished watching this series, and all I can say is...How come I never heard of this until just a couple of hours ago? This would have been right up my street as a kid! Absolutely sublime from start to finish, and believe me, I have a hard time saying that about a series I've watched all my life. Thank you for uploading it, and more importantly, for making it in the first place! :D
@coredor also, unless it doesn't function like a regular fax and dematerialized the matter information and rematerialized on the other end (like a site to site teleport) then a fridge horror occurs where you realise the original copy of plasmo perished in the desctruction of the ship. ...or did he?
wait faxing something only scans something and sends the information to the machine dialed, which makes a copy on paper. this effectively means the fist plasmo is destroyed and this plasmo is a copy pulled together from composite atoms in the machine. plus it would be highly unlikely that that piece of the planet would retain life. i wish there had been more episodes.
Have you noticed this episode makes an absolute continuity fail with the other episodes of the series. They state the comet blew a hole through the planet a million years ago, when in the fifth episode of the series, they state it happened ten thousand years ago. Did they make a miscalculation and resaid the duration a thousand times more?
Craig Davidson Good observation! Professor Sashimi s estimation of then thousand years is more accurate. The book Parsty obtained her information from has exaggerated the figure to a million for a more dramatic read.
Excellent observation. However, Professor Sashimi's estimation of 10,000 years is more accurate, whereas the book Parsty gets her information from, exaggerated the time to one million years as it sounded better and would promote book sales of "Famous Comets".
swear I remember some later episodes differently -- it was plasmos hatching day on his home planet or something like that???? hum.. are these allll of the episodes that aired?
Wait didn't it show that there were a lot of people living on the walls of that hole in an earlier episode? So they all got crushed to death or burned alive my the lava... What a dark ending!
The inhabitants of Monjotroldeclipdoc lived in the chasms surrounding the planets hole. The lava only fused the planet together where the hole was, and did not flow into the inhabited chasms. So no aliens were killed.
I can't express how much joy this show brought me thank you
🥰
Thank you friendlyjordies
Hadn’t heard of this show until a few hours ago. I absolutely love it.
Thank you Jordie you absolute lad.
solid watch, love claymation
What a roller coaster of emotion
Yoooo same! I came here bc of him!

I know right? So amazing.
And Coredor's response: "You may have saved the planet, but you're not getting out of doing the dishes tonight!"
Had the series keep going, what were your plans for It?
Has Anthony Lawrence considered a reboot for plasmo? It would make a really good web series. I would donate to it on kick starter.
After watching friendlyjordies I have watched this entire show in one sitting! Now the only thing I want in life is a plasmo reboot
What friendlyjordies video is the Plasmo reference?
How unfortunate that this was only a 13-episode series. I loved it when I was young!
Loved this show growing up. Forgot what it was called and only found it again recently. Thanks for the awesome childhood.
Could everyone write to ABC3? Getting it aired again would be a good starting point.
Man, this series really deserved to be renewed. Now I'll always wonder why Plasmo wanted back to his home planet, since at the beginning he wanted to go into space.
Never got that either it was a dump I mean I always thought he wanted to leave to find his parents
Coredor is the best Charo in this whole series. Love him! first thing he says when plasmo's about to die, "and that guy still owes me twenty bucks!!"
"it's over for Plasmo though"
Oooft, that cuts deep
I love that smash cut to the credits afterwards

We need another season of this!
I swear there was an episode of this show where Plasmo was in a hole under some snow all by himself and there was this spider thing watching him?
...what about the homes and businesses built into the walls of the comet hole?
The planets occupants built their cities into the cracks and ravines that emanated from the main impact hole, so when the comet returned the chunk, no aliens were hurt, as that part of the planet remained uninhabited.
Thank you Jordies this is heaps good
thanks so much for posting these, they're great!
i miss this show, and not all of the episodes are on youtube :(
Even today, the ending is a little bitter sweet even for me....the planet was saved and returned to the way it was but Plasmo and his friends would be stuck there forever and never return home......
killbot86 They would have gotten off the planet in a new series. Letters to the ABC requesting a new series may help:)
coredor Would've been good had there been a second series....
Does the ABC even need to be involved? Surely it could be funded via Kickstarted or GoFundMe.
Now I know why i cried when i was kid during this show...:(
We need that show back on rollercoaster/ABC
The soundtrack hasn't been commercially released. The merchandising branch of ABC had the chance to do all this years ago, but didn't.
Looking at it now, the CGI is pretty rough, but that was probably one of the most inspiring scenes ever in a cartoon.
It's a pitty about the spaceship though. I liked that spaceship.
@Moppy1988 That in was the half hour version shown on the ABC, shot before the series.
@JoanuMostrafta They evacuated to orbiting satellite buoys when alarm sirens sounded at 25 minutes to go. But unfortunately this would not all fit into a five minute episode. This is the reason why a new series needs to be made.
Thats a good idea. I guess letters are only useful is they are addressed to and read by people who have the power to make the relevant decisions.
at around 3:14 how was the effect of the clouds forming over the fragment achieved?
SavageHoax it’s called a cloud tank effect. Basically a big fish tank filled halfway with water made denser with sugar or salt. Top half or plain water. Paint is ejected into water and it hits dense layer and rolls across it. Filmed in slow motion, then composited into scene.

god damn it, why is this show so depressing for me! I remember watching this in primary school lol

This show is amazing.
That's it. I'm writing a fricken letter to the ABC.
good heavens.. i remeber watching this on saturday morning :)
Oh wow this series brings back some memories. Wasn't there like a movie or something as well?
Yes. It was only available on a limited-release DVD and isn't available anywhere on the internet.
@coredor a new series DOES need to be made.
Well, I've just finished watching this series, and all I can say is...How come I never heard of this until just a couple of hours ago? This would have been right up my street as a kid!

Yeah but also there's no such thing as talking blobs. So either be cool with all of it or none of it.
Feels like should have Been more
Was the soundtrack ever released? The ending climactic song is absolutely epic!
Aww I remember this ending...beautiful ;')
its a shame. maybe as a DVD extra one day?
Does that usually work? Should create a blog or something and get an online petition happening to bring it back

so, did plasmo actually survive, or was it a copy of plasmo that was created by the fax machine...?
So now they are living there for good but don’t seem sad
swear I remember some later episodes differently -- it was plasmos hatching day on his home planet or something like that???? hum.. are these allll of the episodes that aired?
That is in the pilot episode Happy Hatchday To Plasmo. 27 minutes long.
you gotta bring plasmo back! please!
HAHAHA CORRIDOOOR OWNAGE!!!!
Thats the spirit!:)
Or on a bluray.
Coredor used to scare the s**t out of me!
more please
@MynameisElliott
"chunky blob"
He is good deep down though.
Plasmo died on impact.
Fingers crossed;)
Schroedingers Cat. Look into it.
the same happened to me!
