    For the answer to the question at 1 min mark I had tetanus, simply because it was the only disease that do not affect respiratory system.

    • @nursing2nurture

      Lagranarob - Good observation, but that’s not the case here! :)

    • @Cardenaslga
      @Cardenaslga 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      nursing2nurture my question would be then, how do you know which of both correct answers would you chose?

    • @nursing2nurture
      @nursing2nurture  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@Cardenaslga My best advice would be to remember that the TEAS exam is a critical thinking test, so answers aren't always that black and white. Though you had a good answer, the TEAS expects you to know the difference between bacterial diseases & viruses, and how they affect hosts. However, that question isn't on the science portion of the TEAS right now. But if it comes back by the time you take your exam, keep what I said in mind. I know you'll do great!!

    • @Cardenaslga
      @Cardenaslga 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      nursing2nurture also expects you to know which system is affected by what diseases, in this case, luck would decide which was the right answer...

    • @nursing2nurture
      @nursing2nurture  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Cardenaslga Not necessarily! The TEAS exam isn't going to ask you "which organ system does this disease affect?" Knowing HOW a disease affects a system is more important when studying for the TEAS exam. Furthermore, these questions are not an exact replica of the teas exam, these are just questions based off of the ATI TEAS manual. Take care :)

    HI! thank you so much for these practice questions! I wanted to point out the question regarding neurons where synapse is the answer. The questions asks, "Which structure allows neurons to send messages..." However a synapse isn't necessarily a structure. Therefore one could argue that Axon is the answer.

    • @nursing2nurture
      @nursing2nurture  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Tiffany, the synapse is most certainly a structure. For something to be considered a structure in biology, there has to be “an arrangement or organization of parts to form an organ, organ system, or living thing”. Not only does the synapse help to properly arrange the nervous system, but it also helps to organize neuronal firing. The synapse also has its own sub-structures, the presynaptic & postsynaptic membranes, and the synaptic cleft. :)

    Thank you for making this! I would just like to point out a minor technicality (when people test their knowledge they get very particular..lol)...Bile is not an enzyme nor does bile juice contain any digestive enzymes however, in the question about enzymes and where they're produced, answer E (Liver; Bile) is still the only logical answer because the others are all wrong and at least we know that bile is produced in the liver even though it's not an enzyme. That said, if someone saw that and then had a question on the TEAS about whether or not bile was an enzyme, and they remembered this, and chose "yes", they would be wrong.

      Rachelle Colas Hi Rachelle! Some tips:
      1. Practice time management before taking the exam. A lot of students know the material, but they run out of time during the exam.
      2. I would suggest buying a TEAS manual. It doesn’t have to be the ATI version. I’ve heard great things about the mometrix TEAS manual.
      3. Quiz yourself, and when you do time yourself.
      4. For the science portion, make sure you know the difference between negative & positive feedback.
      5. The test is very long, eat breakfast the morning of the exam, and get a full night of rest.
      6. Also, another very important tip... never give up!
      Best wishes to you on your nursing journey!
