i'm sorry to comment on such an old video, but how will i know when a word is being used as a modal particle? :) thank you for all of your effort, alain
Is particles a part of speech? And is particles a category? If so, are prepositions and conjunctions particles in Dutch? If particles is a category, Can you tell me how many things are in that category?
Yes, particles are part of speech and a category of words, but prepositions and conjunctions aren't particles. I think I covered most of the particles in the video. More info: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modal_particle
The intro is the comedic relief I needed after a long day of learning Dutch.
"ga maar" can be used as motivation/encouragement as in, "ga maar, je gaat het leuk vinden!" mean something like "yeah, let's go, you'll like it!"

❤❤❤
Geweldig 🤩
Hi Alain, would you make an video about "namelijk' . It is very hard to understand it.
Hm, well, it's 'namely', 'because' or 'indeed' in English. Türkçe 'yani' ya da 'özellikle' ya da 'elbette.' Yardim ettim mi?
@@LearnDutchwithAlain Thank you. But mostly it doesnt take these meanings. So I translate in my mind by disregarding it.
Kunt u een video maken over het verschil tussen lettergrepen en klankgroepen, en welke zouden wij gebruiken om woorden goed uit te spreken en lezen
Bedankt voor de video Alain :)
Graag gedaan :)
