- Step by Step instructions on how to trace and sew the pattern pieces to make a Waldorf style doll
In this video series we are making a Sami doll (cloth doll, Waldorf style doll) from scratch. The doll pattern is available for a boy doll or a girl doll. The boy and girl dolls are identical when it comes to the making of the body and hair, but I included an extra wig making method for the boy doll and the clothes are different. What is the main fabric of the doll called.
Hi +runyika! It is a thick cotton knit fabric by De Witte Engel. If you look up De Witte Engel or 'doll skin fabric' on google or Etsy you will be able to choose from a few different links/ sellers.
i love your videos. thank you for sharing with us ❤️ but i dont understand the bottom part from the belly. i dont know how i should make the pattern for this part. all the other parts are easy. but i want my doll to be able to sit. so i need a butt 🙂 do you have an answer for me?
Hi pez! It should all be shown in the video series and explained in the PDF file when you purchase the pattern. You fold over the bottom part of the back part of the torso piece, trace the dart lines onto it, sew along the darts, cut off the extra fabric on the front torso piece, place it, right sides facing, onto the front piece of the torso fabric and sew them together along the vertical side edges. The darts will form the bum :)

Can you tell us how to make the doll stand on its own
Hi Pas! This particular doll is meant to be a sitting doll. If you want her to stand you'll have to prop her up on a stand or place her against a wall, provided the legs are stuffed firmly enough. I also have a pattern for a standing doll: th-cam.com/video/WlGfXiiS7CI/w-d-xo.html
