      at 3:23, only the magnitude of the transfer function is considered. Therefore, if you have a+jb then its magnitude will be sqrt (a^2 + b^2).
      Similarly, here it is 1 / sqrt ( 1 + (wRC)^2).
      I hope it will clear your doubt.
