'Horse dead, CROW fat'...not 'cow' fat! This is an error that got inserted and adopted in somewhere along the line!
Crow, the scavenger, benefits from the death of horse. One outcome is the result of another! So if one gets oneself in a situation, for example, there is going to be a contingent outcome! So, often seen as a warning!
I very much enjoyed listening to your beautiful conversation...tinted with humor, wisdom, and innocence!!
I relate so well...as I have nephews and nieces in London...generations down from the Windrush saga!!
So very well done! I'm very proud of you young ladies!!...and to your parents who seem to have done such a great job bringing you up, kudos!!😂❤
'Puss n dawg doan hav d same luck' means consequences and or opportunities are different for different persons. A particular person may get an opportunity from an action and another individual gets a negative consequence for the same action. One has to know their 'place' in society to determine if an action could result in an opportunity or a negative consequence for him.
Same luck doesn't sound like different consequences
This is too crazy! You ladies are so young, but saying everything that I grew up hearing from my grandmother and I am a lot older. I am up at midnight in the USA lmao about these things you are saying. I came across an IG clip of Kyra's standup comedy and can't stop watching her, leading to this video.
Love to listen to you two lovely young ladies. You have me laughing

It's your party, you can be late. It's a sign of being the boss, being late gets you attention, it's a level of importance having your guests waiting to see you arrive and of course to exhibit your birthday fit...being fashionably late
This is nice, I'm subscribing now!!😂😂😂
OMGGGG.....My first time on your channel and I'm in stitches (if you know what I mean)...HAHAHAA....MI BADDDIEEEEE!!! One thing though, I believe our upbringing made us strong..."There's some method to their madness"....LOL. Thanks for the laugh...I'm going to share it with my Mom and Aunt...lol
'Drangcro' (johncrow) is a vulture/crow that feeds on carrion. It is used to degrade/belittle someone who does any negative act to another. Eg. A person who cheats in a game could be called a 'drangcro' as well as a person disrespects you etc
I love your spelling!! Now THAT is being Jamaican!!!😂
That's 'dem duty drankro alright!!😂😂😂
Cool to hereabout commonalities amongst the culture! Chill interview!
Sounds exactly like my family! Too funny 😅 and wouldn't change anything about them 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🏴
Hi Young ladies, I enjoyed watching you two talked about your relationship with your parents and grandparents. I use to lived in the UK, but now live in the USA. Anyway, you said you did not know what a johncrow is? Well, it is a bird. It is vultures. Jamaicans called them johncrow.
Vultures and Scavenger bird u know yeah man ..
It's called a pet name. 🤣
I overstand with choosing licks over lectures… 😂😂😂
Some people get so flustered over corporal punishment …. Meanwhile in my home… we choose that over no TV. 😂😂😂
4:29 I’m not Jamaican but, I’ve got an aunty Cat who’s name is Veronica because she’s got cat eyes… I’ve called her aunty Cat since I was like 13😩 guys, the confusion and utter disbelief 😩
The name thing so real… old ppl change their name and everyone calls them by that…
My older cousin got a lot of old Jamaican sayings. Sometimes when I go to her house she says a new one.
This was very funny! Very similar to having a Kenyan upbringing 😂
You get your nickname based off your occupation your looks
Jamaica Proverbs- there is a book
Enjoy your show girl
This is funny😂😂😂😂
Listen I learned all my grandfather's and uncle and aunts real names at the funeral. They said today we lay Andrew to rest I said na bredda a Reggie we a bury... no his real name is Andrew. Honestly I think it's a way to avoid tyranny and Babylon cause they will never have your real govvy
This is a all night party yea.😂😂😂
This is so funny stop 😭
As an African I can relate so much 😂🙌🏾
It means if somebody a job for example that that doesn't mean you're going to be good at that job and if you do something wrong and you get away with it it does not mean the next person will get away with it that's what it means Pus
this is so funny 😁😂😀
I’m scared to send this to my mum. She won’t accept she did any of this.
Its a caribean thing. U never get called your goverment name by family. And also never outside the house. Where im from u get a nick name appointed and for certain family members. They get a specific name lets say the oldest sistrr gets a specifik name. And lets say if u got your dads name your called Juni which is short for junior. I was in my teens when i found out why i everyones aunt had the same name come to find out its a cultural thing for Caribbean folks shout out to Curaçao 🇨🇼
Sooo funny the both of you come back nuh
Pus and dog dont have the same luck some one do some bad and getaway with it you do it and get in trouble
Think what you should have do is invite a person who live in Jamaica to help u understand some of the stuff
This is very funny
Cyaan nyam a ppl yawd belly will run.
You ladies have me laughing, I’m Jamaican and I was raised by my grandmother. She died at the age 96. I used those same words to my kids and they used them to their kids today. Horse dead and cow get fat means. You’re talking a lot of bull sh*t. I don’t have the time for. I enjoyed the show and also subscribe. Thank you ladies you brought tears to my eyes when I remembered my grandmother.
Horse dead and cow fat😂 I remember saying this to my non Jamaican friend and she was like “what the hell”
But it just means that the person has an excuse or story for everything.
Jan crow is a vulture
Many of us have heard it said this way, true! '...dont tell me no horse dead, cow fat!'...meaning 'dont tell me no foolishness'.😅
Actually, my Friend, it is not 'horse dead, cow fat'. There is little sense to that, really. People who did not understand the intent of the maxim, mistook the word 'crow' (johncrow... the vulture) for cow.
When horse...or any animal dies, it's a feast for johncrow! He gets fattened up!!
So its, 'Horse dead CROW fat!'....crow gets fat as a result of the demise of horse.
It can then have several shades of meaning; usually a warning to avoid a particular outcome!😊
John crow 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
John crow 😂😂😂 that's not it 😂😂😂
John Crown is a bird scavenger
John crow is a bird/ vulture
My dad used to nickname me ratbag or monkey.
My mum was like to me the other day girl where you going with your bambam there 😅 in other words you gained weight 😂 yes mum I have thanks for mentioning it to me
I used to live at home with my headphones on .... my mum be like you not hear me call you from earlier I could drop and be calling you and you not hear me cause you have them blasted things stuck to your blasted head 😅
Or I've been on this earth 73 years and I have seen it all heard it all you can't tell me nothing 😅
A johncrow is a vulture so basically they mean your low of the low since vulture always eats the left over rotten meat and considered low of the low. Puss and dawg nuh have the same luck means I can do something and get away with it but you may not
low of the lowest man 🤣🤣
You are the lady who do the Jamaica 🇯🇲 comedy ❤
We built England yeah?
John crow in a bird..call vulture, feast upon dead animals or bodies
For instance yellow man
Yes we need a dictionary.
'Jankro' is a buzzard; the scavenger of the sky that only eats dead animals
Jankroo = John Crow or vulture, nice way of calling a person a parasite. Quite the insult
Hawse dead n cow fat means gibberish/nonsense
Why did I think it was Horse head and cow foot but we just talk bad. I might nees to revoke my citizenship lmao
@@paul-juniorblack6151Really bro? Smh. I'm revoking it bro.
Horse dead and Crow fat is not gibberish. A Crow (John Crow) is a buzzard that feeds on dead animals. If the horse dies, the Crow will have a lot to eat and get fat - not gibberish.
Jonkro meaning is a vulture a bird of prey 🦅 in Jamaica
Nick name can be evrything
Horse dead and cow fat would mean me nu waa hear nu foolishness, depends on the context you use it
Don’t licki licki. “ to this day ppl in northern western culture, get a little offended. All the more I don’t want to eat from ppl. I won’t eat it. 😑… also speak proper English, which as a black person living in the united state, when I attended high school a few of my then peers I’ve encountered, asked me “are you trying to be white?”… what?!
Listen man, Johncrow is a Vultures Scavenger bired that feet on dead Animal or even humans if there body is laying in an outdoor area. when Jamaican say u a johncrow they basically saying you are low low low, lowest of low level comparison to the Johncrow scavenger bird
What about “don’t tek notin from anybaddy, don’t fine nutten an bring it ear, don’t barrow nutten fram nobaddy!! “
That prevented us from stealing. No strange things coming in this house.
Horse dead and cow fat-you talking unnecessary things/foolishness.
I’m sorry Sinéad is an Irish name
Sinead you are a great interviewer❤
You both marinade well together, the banter is true and heartfelt 😊
