Scripture: Philippians 3:3; 1 Corinthians 1
1. Many Christians say they have faith in Jesus, but their confidence is in man, in famous preachers and teachers, or in themselves, esp. if they are successful.
2. God is the one who chose us, who drew us to Jesus, who saved us, and gave us His Spirit. We owe everything we have to Him!
3. Therefore, we should have no confidence in ourselves or other men, but in God alone.
4. We must also look to God for wisdom to live the Christian life. His wisdom is considered foolishness by the world, yet it is so much better than the world’s wisdom.
5. Unless we live out of God’s wisdom and Spirit, we cannot produce lasting spiritual fruit.
6. God has chosen us, set us apart, and redeemed us. He did this because of Christ! We cannot boast in ourselves, only in Christ Jesus.
