Before the TCU kickoff Utah fans were saying “we should win this, TCU is 1 of the bottom tier schools in the conference.”
After the game the realization hit hard that we are 1 of the bottom tier schools in the conference. Utah football is not in a good place right now😢

Iowa State and Utah are complete opposites. Iowa State is humble and wins, Utah is arrogant and loses. Utah put all their faith in one player to win. Iowa State has 7 injured LBs and still has an awesome defense.

This problem should have been obvious from backup QB play and offensive inconsistency last season. If no other QB than Rising can run your offensive effectively you have program level issues on the offensive side of the ball.

The Pac12 was not good when utah won the league. USC was (still is) nowhere to be found; Washington was not good either; Oregon was competitive against utah, but nowhere near as strong as they are this year. Pac12 arrogantly refused to acknowledge it, but the league hasn't been relevant for several decades not.

Yeah, the big 12 has been a real powerhouse… Oklahoma has literally lost every New Year’s six bowl game. Texas has sucked for 20 years. Utah is now two and one against big 12 schools. I’m not understanding the logic. We have lost to two PAC 12 schools that we traditionally stomp. We suck this year… Hard to figure it out. But it’s the truth. Doesn’t mean you can go back in time and say we sucked in years past because that’s just not true

I don't feel bad for Utah at all. They come in here acting like the new Texas and you're going to get put in your place. This is a good league with good teams and you're seeing it.

Most BYU fans are still experiencing battered fan syndrome, so they're a little slow to get onboard this year. Being a BYU fan myself, I've shed most of that and have diceided to ride the wave with the team. Who knows, maybe we're building towards something more than just a "special season" - something lasting.

  • @big12plus
    @big12plus 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

What was that saying before the season started?!? Wasn't it something like, "Utah will own the B12 & is a lock for the CFP for the B12"? Guess they don't practice, "next man up". Welcome to the B12 Utah. Now you know how Texas felt 15 of the last 16 years. EMAW

Sorry, John… but this is a very opinion-driven take, and your facts are just not correct. No offense to Iowa State, but their record was 7-6, 4-8, and 7-6 in 2021, 2022, 2023 respectively. K-state is more comparable to Utah, but also had a recent losing season in 2020 (4-6) and went 8-5 the next year… followed by two solid 10-4 and 9-4 season in 2022, and 2023. Since 2018, Utah has gone 9-5, 11-3, 3-2 (COVID year), 10-4, 10-4, and 8-5. Since 2014, Utah is top 20 in win percentage and doesn’t have a losing season during that time. Furthermore, Utah’s win percentage is top 20 this century. In the “new B12,” only TCU has slightly more wins since 2000. Nobody is denying Utah isn’t performing well this year for various reasons, but there is still lots of football left to be played before we get a clear picture. But, the negative generalization of Utah and its fandom is getting old and tired. Believe it not, I’m happy for the success of other B12 schools this year-it’s overall great for conference competitiveness. Utah will figure out their issues as they have done for a long time.

Very well said! The narrative is super tired. Believe it or not we are happy to be here and we fit in very well in this conference. I root for every big 12 team now. We know that the big 12 is a step down from the Big Ten and the SEC, and that’s just fine. Especially if we at the very least get an automatic bid. Then we’ve got a shot every year!

As a fan of BYU since 78 it is absolutely PRICELESS to enjoy seeing who the Utes really are, just another run of the mill PAC12 South team.
If you want to see the truth about the PAC12 South, look no further than USC losing to Maryland.
All of this is so much more enjoyable as BYU is competitive at the Power 4 level in its second year, something UTAH took almost 10 years to accomplish despite having the recruiting advantage of being in a Power conference all those years.
The Holy War will still be a hard out for whichever team wins. Can’t wait for the bye week and the game.
Hope BYU takes care of business at UCF so our undefeated record is still on the line November 9th.

This is such a strange comment because two of our three losses have come to PAC 12 doormats. The issue is a Utah issue, not that the big 12 is amazing! But keep telling yourself that!

You are acting like a clown… I get that you need to be sensational. Are you telling me that if Kansas State was invited to the Big Ten you wouldn’t want to go? Obviously Utah would’ve wanted to go and get $100 million a year. Obviously Utah would’ve wanted to go to the big 12 and play national brands weekend and week out. Is it because that’s where we think we belong, no… Did we wanna go? Yes! Just like any of the rest of the big 12 teams!
As Utah fans, we didn’t think we were on the same level as Oregon, USC, Washington etc. But we loved playing and beating those teams. It’s the same way with Texas and OU. I’m sure you guys loved to play those teams because they are National brands that Garner a ton of respect even when it’s not warranted.
We have now lost to exactly ONE big 12 team. And two PAC 12 teams that we stomped on a regular basis. WE ARE TERRIBLE RIGHT NOW. THERE IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING GOING ON IN SALT LAKE CITY.
Do you really think it was just Utah fans that thought they had a very good shot at winning the big 12? They were favored by pretty much every national pundit and media.
I know you are a big 12 Homer, and I’m actually thrilled to be in the big 12. I think we fit very well here and we will be extremely loyal to this conference. I know it’s fun to pile on right now because some Utah fans were being idiots. But you’re alienating the fan base of one of the better programs in your conference. Right now we suck for some reason but to say we’re not on the level of Oklahoma State who is 0 in 4 in conference play??? Weird!

Let me clear something up for you John. It's not that the B12 is good, it's that Utah fell apart this year. Evidence of the B12s weakness is that a perennial bottom feeder like BYU who would regularly lose to fcs teams is now leading the Conference. Utah only has one Legacy B12 loss, you can't count UA and ASU They're from that weak PAC12 as you like to say. As for our record with USC, we've won the last four and beat Oregon twice in 2021 to win the CCG, so quit twisting the truth in an attempt to diminish our record. The truth be known we'll never recover from this. We will no longer be getting the same level of recruits who wanted the Chance to play USC, UCLA Oregon and UW. The B12 no longer have that Caliber of teams and Utah will suffer for it. The whole of the B12 is relegated to mediocracy without big names and markets.
