The dumpling called 鍋貼 (guo tie) or kue tie... the one u guys eat , is Shandong province version.. im chinese indonesian, 2nd generation.. the best one is just cross the street , name of the shop is "Shandong Kuotie 68". Their late father came directly from shandong. To me, best type of noodle is la mian..

I’m Chinese Indonesia and grew up in that town and many hakka people there. My Dad hakka from Singkawang. In front of temple actually you should try the best Soto Tangkar (sold until afternoon) and Nasi ulam (sold till night). Kamsia 🙏for introducing Indonesia to the world.

Glodok/Kota is a universe in itself. Many Jakartans - esp the middle class - are not interested to explore it. Dunno now, but back then, my goodness. The night clubs, the old Chinese houses, the not halal Chinese foods, the Chinese herbal shop and its shinshe. And, the old institution such as Cafe Batavia.
