- KEYDIY KD-X2 Setup Quick Demo, looking at the tool and how to get it working, showing some of the functions and how to clone a chip as well as generate a remote using the tool. We bought this too because it is capable of generating proximity remotes, which have now been added to the DIY range. The new remotes are very important for locksmiths to increase our profits by using non-genuine remotes, this is also true for the super chips that save money over using Silca GTI chips that are more expensive. What cars do you use it on daily?
I use this machine, hasn't let me down, apart from the odd id46 on board remote that didn't program correctly.
however there is so much that the tool does such as testing ignition coils, testing remote frequencies etc.
there are two types of standard remotes, kdn and kdnb, the kdn is just a remote with no onboard chip, the n series have a built in id46 chip which some vehicles need in order to program a remote.
with the n series you can also do a wireless generation without the need for the cable, you will need a battery in the remote though.
if I get something like a ford or old style opel/vauxhall i usually use the mvp Pro to learn the remote and chip to the car, then I would either heat shrink or glue the chip to the pcb of the key diy remote.
all in all its a great bit of kit. I use it weekly and keep it in a dslr camera bag along with a jma trs 5000evo.

Use this every day in the UK, a great tool for loads of remote keys, generates Citroen and Peugeot well and even the keyless fords and such

I was told to use the keydiy for remotes and key tool max for transponders.
Both are excellent.
Thats what we do most the time, KeyDiy is good, they just had an update too. but my tool is faulty, 3 months in and its faulty battery. Nothing seems to work this week..

I've just started using the xtool and the second car I've done have wiped out the keys and they won't add them in via the obd instructions. It's making me regret jumping into auto tbh. 3 cars and 3 problems.

@@renegadecampervan5017 you can never have enough tools! I do odometer calibration and I’ve got hextag, vvdi prog, r270, CGDI CGPRO, Digiprog3 and I have Autel IM608. I’m now looking into this KEYDIY, and the VVDI key tool max.
I have the VVDI key tool max and the KD-X2 and find I use both but I seem to use the vvdi key tool max more also vvdi have the super chip that covers nearly all the chips you need .
But the KD-X2 you can share remotes that you copy to other people where I can't do that with the vvdi key tool max.
What do you mean you can share remotes that you copy to other people?
@@lukeh7854 on KD-X2 you can share to friends remotes you clone or copy so if you copy a remote you have that is not in KD-X2 you can share it with work mates or friends
I have it in the but don't know how to use it except checking frequencies for keys,can someone teach me more about it
Thank you for watching the video. If I put in the smart chip PCB, is it just copied? If so, do you have to press the buttons one by one to copy? After all, you are copying a frequency, right?

I have vvdi xhorse but I am think of getting keydiy. I have 2015 Civic USA that I need a universal key for but xhorse does not carry a wireless type universal flip key but it looks like KEYDIY have them.
Loved the video just doing keys for myself and my family already purchased a xhorse machine was able to generate a key and the remote but was unable to get the remote to be recognised by the car so was now looking at this keyDIY box and came across your site and video does this
Machine connect the remote to work with the car or is there another way to join the remote to work with the car it's s Peugeot 407 coupé if this just conects to the car oris there something I am not doing correct can't find any news on the subject thanks John

Can this do Super chips
Is it compatible with a dodge adventure 10?
The latest and greated (as at 2020-12) is the XHorse Mini Key Tool, or XHorse Key Tool Max.
KD-X2 can't do ID8C, and can't do Toyota H.
Both of these are done (clone & generate) on the XHorse XT27 all-in-one chip.
ID4D & ID46 are also on the XT27 chip.
KeyDIY is unfortunately lagging behind XHorse, just as HandyBaby lags behind KeyDIY.
This is true, I should of got the VVDI
it is true that its behide when it comes to transponder chips but when it comes to remotes its pretty good the id48 clone is good. generate smart and online remotes mint
@@Jackcc5 I find the xhorse a nightmare when programming ID48 chips. I'm often forced to wait over two hours to clone id48 chips when I could easily be working on another job. The xhorse also seems to have constant problems cloning remotes as well. A very expensive paper weight in my opinion.

Your error could be caused by the programmer laying on the new universal remote.

Hi, I think anyone that enjoys playing with transponders keys and working out what works what.. is a little mad. The world is such a nice place and so many nice things to do with your time.. So to answer your questions. It's not mad its crazy "Key Crazy " and I'm not the only one!!
