The S23U and the S23 series are all Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 only. The S22U are either Exynos or Snapdragon, depending on where you are. So S23U will be the preferred choice over the S22U!
I upgraded from s22 ultra to s23u and I’m speaking for myself only, the upgrade was worth every single penny especially when you have a great trade in deal from Samsung or your carrier.Snapdragon 8 gen 2 is really powerful and power efficient which means much better battery life.People are just looking at the hardware similarities but internally, the s23u is a much better phone
I mean, I got a refurbished S22 ultra for about $650, and its only gone down in price where I live to about $540. While an S23 Ultra is about $800. Personally for the few upgrades you get, it's not really worth the extra $200 just to have a bit better battery, slightly better performance and a tiny bit better camera setup. But I mean if you have the money go for it :P
@ the battery isn’t slightly better but a lot better i can confirm that and the performance also is also much better.I wouldn’t say the same thing about the s23u and s24u but comparing it to the s22u,it’s a major improvement. The internal upgrade is significantly better and noticeable
Congrats! U bought the same phone 😂. I have both, & they're not far different..u wont be gaming long hours anyway, unless ur a kid. S23u heats up too in games. S22u 8gen1 when heating up aftr long gaming, a lil break & ur fine. No issues. Heck even iphones heat up. They're almost same.
@@hiddenaxies4953 do you own the phone?apparently reading is difficult for some people. If you think there is no major difference between both s22u and s23u,you’re delusional.I mentionned the reasons why the s23u is much better but I wouldn’t say the same thing between the s23u and s24u
I’m still rocking the S2 two ultra and it’s the best phone I’ve ever owned. It still works exactly the same as it did the day I got it and my girl has the S 24 ultra and I honestly don’t see no difference if anything mine looks more futuristic than hers does.
You dont see a difference because youre not using it and also it probably looks more futuristic because of the curved screen but some ppl prefer flat display
The difference in soc and optimization are the biggest differences. I recently switched from the 22u to the 23u and yes im a power user. The 22u had a crazy heating issues plus the battery life could not get me from 9am to 6pm at alll (it dies at like 12-3pm ). The 23 is just way better in those 2 aspects, it barely heats up (and i play fortnite on it☠️) and the battery gets me my 9 to 6 with 15% left too. Glad i upgraded as a power user.
Happy for you, you'll soon regret with a mistake update that is to come and they'll regret why they have made the S22 ultra more optimized than other phones.
@derricknyakundi1985 Samsung isn't going to do that sir. Remember the 22u has 2 different soc's. Why would they waste time and resources optimising an older phone especially when they'll have to do it twice, when all the newer phones have way more efficient chips and just need it to be done once. And in the chance that they will. I doubt it'll be as good as the 23u or 24u. It'll probably just add the screen on time by 30min to an hour.
I mean if you use a 45W charger you go from 0 - 100% in about an hour or so, so just bring the charger with you, or use a power bank that supports 45W then its ezpz, but still its super annoying
Will you do a z fold 2 video please? I'd love to hear your take on Z fold 2 in 2024. I just purchased mine secondhanded. I'm surprised at how tough this phone is.
Honestly i just sold my s23ultra and kept my 22 ultra everything you said in the video is right battery power is better in s23ultra but the quality build in the s23ultra is trash , i know some are getting mad please take of the case of the device and press the back and watch the dust in the corner disappear, that means the glow already failing that's mean is not not water resistant anymore. I went to samsung stores and i checked all the mall all the s23 ultra display phones, the back already pealing the s22 ultra is older and that don't happen to it , that was my only problem and i don't want to keep a phone for 600 USD AND MORE ,and in less then a year is already need to get open and re glowed again .my advice to anyone skip the s23 ultra and go s24 ultra if you want to save 22 ultra .
I have the ultra s22,s23,s24.. S22u 8gen1 doesn't heat up like bfore. It's well-optimized now. They almost have the cameras with 10x zoom. If u have s22u & want to upgrade, better wait the s25.
I wish Samsung would support these phones longer 😢 they're both very powerful & beautiful devices. They deserve more years of support. Hopefully, Samsung will copy that after iPhone?
my gf has S22U I have S23U they're basically the same lol, I prefer the flat Display there's nothing in real world thats different really, mine is just louder by a lot through the speakers the pictures are the same but the video is better other than that ain't missing much, I use my iphone for video anyway
Considering how cheap s22u now, get it. Dont believe about overheating..i also have s24u, the 10x optical zoom on s22u is insane. U wil not experience heating unless ur gaming for long hrs like a kid 😂. But u can easily game on the s22u. Updates still available til 2026 & more.

I miss the design of the 21 ultra. The curves made it so easy to hold in one hand
Watching on s22 ultra. I'll wait for s25 or s26 ultra

Yes and S23 Ultra have much better sound production, speakers then S22 Ultra.

How is this not abtop channel. ? You do real world testing and application on your devices.
Please keep up the great work.
Appreciate it!
Upgrading, I enjoy the better screen, speaker(s) and battery life. Luckily, the upgrade was only $200 or so last year.
Nice. S23 Ultra all the way. 💯
s23 snapdragon 8 gen 2 is incredible.
Me in my s21 5g with Exynos 2100 lol

Curved display looks good indeed, but you always feels worried about it to break on the sides also no screen protector works properly

hey what is Screen on time of s22 ultra ? (of normal usage like social media + camera) . Thankyou

@PrimyFritzellz i had one but stopping what your doing to find a plug and charge gets frustrating quickk
Awesome comparison I have the fold 4 , like the folds but miss ultra cameras
S22ultra
Thankyou for the review !!
Is your s22 ultra exynos or snapdragon?
How would flat sides make it harder to hold? The edge curve gives you more touch rejection
I don't know if it's a great idea but can you also include in your images how much you zoomed or cropped?
Was actually debating between these two..The chip is definitely going to be a major factor when I decide to make a purchase.
THANK YOU!

Bulshit
There is a big difference in performance and sound, especially with games the S23 Ultra much better 😈👍🏻
Let's see s22u vs s23u vs s24u
Can you please do A55 vs S23 Ultra ? (midrange vs Flagship)
You mean budget vs flagship?
You do a comparison on the Samsung Galaxy A55 vs. the A35.
A55 not in usa
How about year of update software s23ultra? Until 2027 right? Is it still worth to buy in late 2024?
Yes.

Glad I could help!
S23 ultra is better than s22 ultra
Ohh, you forgot about the SD card on the S22 ultra. Game changer.
No SD card slot on s22 Ultra
Last Ultra phone with SD Card was S20 Note Ultra.
I think you got that mixed up with the S20 note Ultra.
In my display is every bit as good as the S 24 ultra
Watching this because I’m saving up for the s22 ultra
Considering how cheap s22u now, get it. Dont believe about overheating..i also have s24u, the 10x optical zoom on s22u is insane. U wil not experience heating unless ur gaming for long hrs like a kid 😂. But u can easily game on the s22u. Updates still available til 2026 & more.
@ how is the camera quality compared to the iPhone 13 Pro Max? That’s the phone in switching from because I’m done with apple
First
