this honestly made me feel so much better about uni, im year 12 but i've been around to look at unis and have felt really scared by the whole thing but knowing that you and probably else was feeling that way about uni makes me feel better about going bc everyone's going to be in the same boat, good luck with second year!!
Exactly!!! And no need to stress, you've got this xx
I'M a chinese uni sophomore student and ready to get my master degree in UK. I might give you some information or advice from the aspect of chinese uni life. And i wish I could make friend with you
Also freshers week was definitely NOT my best week of my life, I am not into heavy drinking or clubbing at all and I just hated the expectation for students to do this. However, I am starting to enjoy it a bit more and do daytime activities x
I am in love with your calm voice😍
I will hopefully be starting university next year so I really appreciate the fact that you took the time to break down your thoughts and opinions on the whole uni experience
This is really helpful! I'm starting at Edinburgh uni in September and I was feeling a bit stressed but this has really eased my anxiety. 😊
I finished my first year in 2006 (17 years ago, omg!). In 2018, I graduated from the university with a PhD degree. Good luck with your studies! Greetings to the UK!
The amount of productivity that you maintain despite of all the stress is just wow. you really deserve commendation. Amazing you are

Once again, thank you for your vlogs Emma! They've really helped me keep on top of revising.
As someone who has just finished second year in mechanical engineering (University of Galway), I would say that doing consistent but not excessive (or crammed) Study is the key to academic success. Make sure to look over the lecture notes/material after EVERY lecture - it saves a lot of time and makes sure that you’ve learned the material. You could also look up techniques such as active recall or spaced repetition to further improve the efficiency of your study time.
With regards to settling in - there’s no need to be nervous or to plan everything down to the minutiae, since everyone is in the same boat and circumstances rarely go exactly as planned. Enjoy your time and good luck!
Hope that helps. Best of luck!
@@lordsauron4556 Do you think TCD, UCD, UCC or DCU are better? Why'd you pick NUG over alternatives and how's your experience so far? My biggest question is how's the cost of living, tuition and accommodation since Dublin clearly has major issues in that regard. Also did you get any scholarships? Any reply would be appreciated, thanks.
ty for this! hoping to start at edinburgh this september and i'm also coming from quite far away - 8 hours away driving - and this video was a massive help x
eek I’m starting in September too! what are you studying?

ngl one of my flatmates was horrid he would never clean the kitchen after he cooks, never washes up, smokes w££d in his room so the corridors would stink. we had a groupchat and we would all tell him to clean up but he always ignored us, he would steal people's food, ingriendients, cutlery and so much more worse stuff ugh im so happy to be done with 1st year and living with him
that's such a nightmare I'm so sorry!! At least it's all over now xo
would love a video specifically for edinburgh!! im only doing gcses atm but im already looking at unis.
I love your videos
thank you!!
Can you make a video on personal statements when applying to university?
Hi emma
Anyone here thinking of commuting to Edinburgh, or have done before? Any advice would be appreciated!
Salute and good luck to you.Kisses, hugs and I love to you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤.
Hey for accommodation at Edinburgh, is it for the full academic year or just during term times? Like, would you be kicked out at the end of each term?
Hii ❤

was it hard to get into your university?
Don't spend your first years student grant on nights out 😂

Hey! I am starting Edi Uni in September and everyone seems to have a gold wristband... Is this a scam or legit? It seems slightly dodgy but I am not sure! This video is really helpful, so thank you!!
I was in your position last year not knowing whether to buy one or not.. never did and I was very glad. All my friends who bought one never used it and regret it so I honestly wouldn’t bother! xx however if you feel more comfortable getting one then do it !
@@emmaxolouise Thank you for replying! I think I will also give it a miss then, not worth spending £25 on :)
Lovely sensible advice from a grounded young lady!

i'm so excited and nervous to start Uni thanks so much for this video🥰. Thankfully i am hoping for an ensuite. Not sure what i'm going to do for freshers since my local nightclub to my uni has closed down 🥲 Luckily my Uni is only an hour away from Home so i can go home if i want to 🥰 My worry isn't going out clubbing its afterwards when i crave takeaways which is where my money ends up going 😂
haha! I always just end up snacking in my flat as not many places are open in edi. And best of luck xxx
This really made my day and helped me so much, even when I'm not in university. thanks emma 🤍
