You’re my favourite youtube channel currently. I find your information much more useful than the oatmeal out there and your personality adds some entertainment to otherwise dry subject. You have made me realize Atomic is my favourite ski brand, I have atomic hawx boots and for years I daily drove narrow Atomic Vantages. Bought the skis on clearance and always assumed there was better but they were a great value. Looking back it’s amazing how good the vantage were. Mine were on the the short side for me, but still were fun to carve and chase kids through the trees. On the rare occasion there was deep snow in Ontario/Quebec I wished I had something wider but they always made it down even if my legs were on fire. I did learn the hard way that they were not sufficient for trees at Jay Peak. Watching your accounts of the Maverick they feel like the spiritual successor to the Vantage. Other channels gave me the impression that Mavericks were good but there is better out there. Now I just need to find Maverick 88 on sale and retire the QST 98 I picked up on marketplace last year to my powder skis. I hope you keep it up as I relate to your perspective and enjoy the videos (mostly the critical ones lol). Thanks Elliot.
I have a pair of these and they’re great. You can’t push on them too hard in firmer conditions, but they’ll hold if you ski with more thought to your timing. Not exactly a charger but a super fun ski.
I love the idea that there's a kind of skier out there that still has never quite been properly catered to by existing ski designs, and that this might be the perfect ski for them. There are probably folks out there who think that skiing isn't for them because they don't identify with the types of skiers that exist in our lexicon. "Surfer" doesn't quite fit into the Jibber or Cruiser archetype. I really appreciate Elliott's ability to articulate the kind of skier who might love a ski that he himself may not instinctively gravitate toward.
Elliott, I'm not a stranger to Meier Custom Skis having lived in CO for many years. I see them periodically in the lift line and they look really pretty. I have been wanting to make a custom pair of skis for a long time. I have been entertaining the idea of making a pair with Wagner in southern CO or maybe Meier. What you're saying about these, sure has my attention. Do they have any options for titanal in their skis? I figure that might help them hold that edge and line on that CO hard-packed powder.
great to see you on some US skis! once again asking for a moment comparison, they do some local demos in NV and UT through the website. Id love to see how they compare to more general brands
Nice review! Like trying to ski couloirs on the K2 Seth Pistol. Terrifying! They just did not grip after a jump turn. The skis had a very cool British flag on the base though, which totally made up for it.
Is it just me or around 3 mins, the right side of the tip seems to not be a straight diagonal line, rather flared in some way? It's quite noticeable in the yellow semicircle/blue outline section. Is this intentional - looks like a defect? Unless they sent you blemishes or seconds to review.
I just purchased a pair with custom graphics on your review ,i did give a shout out for your review
Oh awesome, thanks for the shout out, it helps when they know that kind of stuff.
Hope you love them

Big Shout Out to the team over at Meier Skis for letting me review these skis!

Totally agree

Love this channel! Elliott has a way of explaining skis in a way that I'm confident I can buy without a demo. Good stuff!
I appreciate that!
Great review. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Meier is doing cool stuff! I do like the relaxing cruise style but I ski eastern boilerplate to frequently. Keep up the great reviews!

I'm not sure I would reach out to the guys over at Meier about that, you might check out the Wrangler's as well.
Important comment on the lack of underfoot edge control on hard pack conditions.
Thanks!
Thanks Phillip! Appreciate it

Yo Salomon. Lend our boy some of your skis for a test!!
Both my Stormriders have a 19m turn radius at 177.. What I find is the longer the turn radius the more stable the ski is..

Where are you skiing?
Bogus Basin, in Idaho

I don't think I see it, is that just the golfball shape he was describing?
its just the yellow giving the illusion i think
