I had some fence posts and bushes to pull up. I watched about a dozens videos with people using the farm Jack so I went harbor freight and bought one for $110. Plus tax. I was surprised when I pulled my first post the main shaft bent a little, so I moved on to the bushes. After a couple attempts the shaft was not only bent but twisted also. They must be using softer metal than before. I can’t imagine a average sized man at 70 years old could do such damage. I am returning it.
I removed huge oak stumps by digging around the base until you get to main root. Have a sharp axe and cut it through. Requires labor but better then being lazy and trying to burn it out. If you are financially able rent a stump grinder takes very little work.
You could also build an aclove under the stump, fill it with red hot charcoals and let it burn the stump above. Follow basic fire safety with a bucket of water on standby.
Always handy to have a reciprocating saw with limbing blade on hand to saw some of those pesky roots but not required in this removal. Blades are cheap as you are cutting in the earth.
' nice idea... better use a pair of block woods 4X4 plus 8 foots height little higher... lite duty chain on both block woods as /-\ and pair of block square bases on the ground

love that you gave a price breakdown,
Put a board under the jack next time you pull a stump out
Interesting that just the farm jack at harbor freight now cost 100 bucks.
That same jack is now, $100!

No need to step the jack down like that, there is a release lever that will allow it to free-fall.
Today's price on lumber probably increased the price of that contraption ten fold.
Great guide!!

Thanks for the video, it was very informative.
Great video
What would be the most size pullable with this
Depends on what tree's stump you're pulling, as soon as the roots differ.
Good job. Thank you.
My chain keeps falling off the jack
Great Job!!!
Now its all 50% more expensive in 2023
Or wrap the chain around your truck hitch and SLOWLY ease out the stump.
Хотел делать металлическую опору. Спасибо за идею.
Good ))
👏👏👏💡🙏
Became 'AKA' Stump puller
Harbor freight Jack 94$
You can buy the actual Hi-Lift brand for about $20 more than that Harbor Freight garbage. Stop being cheap.
what would we do without a woman's advice?..
