12 Cathedrals? Romanesque? Of course there are 12 romanesque churches in Cologne: collegiate churches, abbey churches and Parish churches. But here is only one cathedral and it's gothic. 1:58 : That's Landshut, not Cologne. 2:14 : That's Düsseldorf. 5:32 : That's Hohe Straße, not Schildergasse. 6:57 : Definitely not a Cologne church.
For those commenting on the pronunciation of both the English and German words, I think the narration might have been done by AI. I predict we humans will be speaking the AI dialect because the next generation of humans won't know any better. In fact, I'll start saying "Romynesk" instead of "Roman-esque" next time the word comes up in conversation.😀
Just came back from Cologne for an exhibition at the Cologne Fair. It was a nice relaxed city & I’m happy to see residents & not just tourists even in the city center. But not my favorite city to be honest. There’s really nothing else to see than the Cologne Cathedral & Hohenzollern Bridge. In terms of chocolate factory, I prefer the ones in Belgium. And for some reason, I had a hard time making friends with Germans. At first I thought maybe because I’m Asian? But when I went to Belgium, it’s totally different. Belgians are much friendlier. I don’t think it’s because of language barrier because both are bilingual in English. In terms of shopping district, I’ve seen a lot better in other cities in Europe. If it’s not because of the trade fair, I won’t be staying for 3 days. A day trip or an overnight stay would be enough for Cologne. But I enjoyed walking & biking around. But again, not as much when I did in Belgium (especially Ghent) & Amsterdam.
You came in the wrong season, come when it's carnival season, everyone is friendly..LOL..Of course you can't compare Cologne to Amsterdam. or Ghent or Brussels and so on. Btw. there is a lot to see in Cologne. The Roman Germanic Museum, admire Fine Art at the Wallraf-Richartz & Ludwig Museums, the roman ancient site near the Town Hall, numerous parks, the vibrant Belgian Quarter, the Cologne Cable Car, dinner cruise on the rhine river and what not. I'm also Asian, and I made a lot of friends in Cologne.
They did not mention the nightlife. Music traditional, classical, opera, ballet, theater. Modern electronic music and nightclubs. Watching thousands of people traveling into Koeln HBF from surrounding cities from Frankfurt to Muenster. Aachen to Wuppertal. Koeln at night is an entertainment magnet. There are a lot of creative people who are based in Koeln

@jamesford9648 You raise an interesting point. However, I disagree with your assertion that there is no validity in pronouncing a foreign word within the context of the language being spoken.
If you decide to go, here's some advice. For God's sake, don't drink their local beer there ("Kölsch"). This is not beer, but a beer substitute. Germans make excellent beer - with the exception of Cologne
terrible AI content again, bring back the count on the dislikes so we have some way to skip a poor-quality video like this before wasting time watching it.
Its a disgrace there is so many beggara, homelessness and alcoholics everywhere in Koln. The city stinks like urine especially near the railway station.
I've been living in Köln for just over two years now, am I just desensitized to the smell of urine, because this city doesn't smell like piss. Maybe I'm just not visiting the Hauptbahnhof enough

Cologne cathedral was the most beautiful structure I have ever seen in my life.
Germany looks an amazing Country

Great video, pity that flying a drone now in Köln is difficult, it gives so much more punch to a video !
Thanks for watching. 💕
After visiting Cologne one should then visit the nearby lesser known German city of Aftershaven
Great video!!!
The Cologne cathedral is not Romanesque LOL wtf
Yes bad start.
Must be Gothic.
❤❤❤❤

Helpful video but the music is really distracting. Way to loud.
Anyone know what the music is in the background??

@@NiberspaceThanks, you certainly didn't let me down
What you show as "Schildergasse" is actually the "Hohe Strasse"
Beautiful Germany
Hahaha the monkey in the zoo did the old scratch and sniff. My highlight of this video
So no art works? no painting?

Good video, but you really need to pronounce Rhein/Rhine correctly!
So what? I'm German and do not think that this comment is necessary!

What alternatives do you recommend in Cologne?
Thank you in advance.
@@luke_carter Drink a proper Kölsch, one of the best beers in Germany. Go for Mühlen, Päffgen or Reisdorff Kölsch
Please use narrators that can pronounce the German AND English words correctly! Jeez. Almost embarrassed for this person.
You shouldn’t promote a zoo, due to the sad state of locked up animals
I'd be fine not visiting yet another church in Europe.

Do Bremen-Bremerhaven! 🥺🙏
Lazy video. Could have at least googled some of the pronunciations
Why is it necessary ? shame on you just for 1 point you call the whole video " Lazy"
