  • This month's Evening with the Merciful Jesus was recorded at the Shrine. Please tune in at 7:00 p.m. on our Facebook page ( / li.. ) or TH-cam Channel ( • "Trust" - Fr. Gabriel ... ).
Our culture has been termed the post-Christian, post-truth, and post-human civilization, making the task of evangelization more challenging than in previous generations. The question stands, “How can we recreate a climate in which truth can be received?” Dr. David C. Schindler from the John Paul II Institute on Marriage and Family Studies gave the presentation “Fides et Ratio and the New Evangelization: John Paul II’s Response to the Modern Crisis of Meaning”. St. John Paul II’s encyclical offers answers to this question and provides the foundation, groundwork and spirit for the New Evangelization.

"Fides et Ratio" is my favourite of all St. JPII's encyclicals. It continues to have profound relevancy for today's society, helping us to understand many societal problems.

Peter Lombard it’s a great one indeed, though we are equally partial to all 14 of his encyclicals.

Fantastic! With great hope perhaps " The Acting Person' will be explained to me the same way Fides et Ratio was.

Should be labeled D. C. Schindler, not D. L. Schindler--though both men, son and father, are great!
