MTV music generator gang! People will never know what the struggle was getting a sample on the memory card 😅 My Timeline - MTV music generator - Cool edit pro - FL studio 2 - 20 (tried cubase, protools, reason, studio one in-between) - ableton (current) Added some lawless boxes like SP404 and MPC live 2 but still in the box with ableton 99% of the time. I appreciate and love all software and hardware and it's been one hell of a journey for me and I hope the same for you all as well.
I feel what you're saying about the Triton, it's impossible to talk about dissecting music from the 2000s without mentioning something like the Triton or Motif. It's like discussing the 80's and not crossing topics talking about the Juno 60, Prophet, Oberheim OB-X or DX-7 keys wise, or the Kawai R50, 808, 707, etc drums wise because that's what everybody was using.
I started messing around with DAWs in like 2009/2010. Played around with Reason 5, Ableton, Studio One, FL, Cubase and Pro Tools. Settled on Ableton and been on Ableton ever since.
80's Baby here: Started with FL 5, switched to Reason, then ditched them for the MPC One. In the 2000's the big dawgs crushed the Triton, Motif, and Fantom boards.
YYOOOOOO MTV Music Generator what lit!!! I went from that to FL Studio 3. Then on to Protools, Reason, and Logic Pro. I started out on analog though. MPC, patch bays, DAT, ADAT, Mini-Disks, Floppy disks... all that shit lol! Its crazy how much things have changed over the last 20+ years I've been doing music!
I started making beats with a Casio and a 4 track tascam cassette porta lol. Then I messed around on MTV music generator and FL in the begining wasn't nothing really just a simple little sequencer as I remember. It didn't get pretty fair until idk FL 3. I produce on a Maschine and Studio One now. I'm thinking about getting a MPC as well try it out. You use both Ave?? What's your opinion?
Tony Traxx longtime Ave channel viewer transitioned to hoodhandyman .Your intro was spot on.Tim Va Stand up ! don't care about no FL studio. They are two entirely different style producers. But I disagree with you 3:37 saying theres not alot you can do on a mpc 2000xl but i agree with what you said immediately after. Propellerhead Reason Gang! Bad and Bougee is not a classic but the beat slaps.
Bad and boujee is a classic to me personally. It came out the year I graduated high school. Made sum great memories to that song. I understand the older crowd not regarding it as a classic tho.
@@smoothsavage2870 Lol... I wish I knew he didn't do all the tracks by himself earlier in my life. Taking full credit on all the tracks is wild. Music business is messy work in my opinion.
According to Suno, in his new capacity as a strategic advisor, Timbaland will be taking an active role and will support the company with day-to-day product development and strategic creative direction “in order to ensure new generative music tools will meet the needs of both established and emerging artists”. Suno’s official announcement added that “this partnership places Timbaland on the ground floor of what has all the makings of the next music industry revolution.”
hip hop e jay, mtv gen, fl , live, cool edit , reaper made it possible for real. equipment was so expensive. if you had a setup back then you were like a god. picture a bunch of young dreamers just hanging around wishing to get on the machines or dare get recorded. fast forward to today and we have more than we could ever imagine and it is overwhelming. i think this is why the minimal standalone workflow is back in demand. we're missing that working with the scraps feeling that hip hop is built on.
Man I started waaaaaaay back with Hip-Hop eJay, then later Fruity Loops 2.5, then Reason 2.5 etc, all the way full circle to NI Maschine. What y'all know about THAT shit.
I know for me, I will never be at a level of Timbo or Metro, and I realize it is better to be true self then compromise, I do not wan to sound like someone else whose sound is already used, I am always looking to get better in my craft and learn even from the pros, just not sound like them or others...I need to be able to stand out among the millions sounding the same.
I started making midi files with cakewalk, switched to impulse tracker, then acid pro, & now it's MPC Gang all day. 3.0 but need a 2nd MPC to keep 2.0 at hand too. 😂
MTV Music Generator gang for sure. Spent many hours making all sorts of weird stuff on that thing. Sadly only 10 of my songs have survived from that time.
My first computer was an IBM clone! With a Hercules graphics card, and a 2MB hard drive. It was 1986. Before floppy disks were plastic. 🤣🤣 I learned how to program single high-pitched notes from a DOS prompt.
The first time I heard pony on the radio was like 3am in 1996 and my reaction was WTF is thst a frog? He made beats thst sounded nothing like the charts then became hits. Back then being "different" was praised now if somebody is different it is looked at as different because not as good as current. That's thevchange from mid 90s to current best production
@@AveMcree was it really?. I had e mu mp7 the purple unit I just knew that his sound was different while nowadays different is looked at as not as good as. I think it started in the Rocbattle forum days when people started having same sound as each other with just different tags where there wasn't differentvsound from different beatmakers like guys people were doing karaoke versions of popular beats or cover versions of beats to sell leases and the trend has stayed
MTV music gen on ps1 had a slight latency in the loop. MG2 for ps2? Funk flex’s intro 😂😂 I still have ps memory cards packed with beats. That was 26 ish years ago
RMS started doing my joints on hip hop ejay. Techno EJ ay.. then I bought two technique turntables SL drive. Three channel scratch curve pain mixer and then I realized I had lyrics then I realized I could make beats be an artist record video music and still have all these ideas
The first laptop was a stolen fbi/nsa piece bought from Somali or Ethiopian cat. It still has black and white screen...didn't make music with it lol....ah the late 90s early 2ks....
Born in 89. I grew up with Timbaland's music as a kid in the 90s/early 2000s. Now im enjoying Metro's music. This is wild lol.
I was born in 91 and fk with them both as a middle aged adult myself

I still use MTV music generator I use it to build loops for older vibes then flip them. I like going back to the old stuff
How many of you made your best track with the "Baby I love you" call and response pair of samples?
The warm sound of the ASR-10 and MPC 3000/2000 is something special 😉
Music is a time capsule, fans of those songs make them “classics”.
Timbaland and Nas masterclass is the most motivational hiphop series I have ever watched!
MTV music generator in the building. I had it on PlayStation and PC
I like reason back in the day because everything would get saved in the file. Wouldn't have to make sure you had a plugin in a certain folder.

It sounds like Tim is referencing 21 Savage- Redrum in the beginning and Metro didn’t produce that song , but he rode with it lol
Started on a Roland JS-30 with a Zoom RT-123 drum machine and a Tascam 4 track. Then Fruity Loops 1 and Rebirth.
i was using mtv music generator on my ps2 😂
that was the worst version. my best friend was mad af when he copped it lol

I don't think Bad and Boujee is a classic. It's a hit... but that's MY opinion.🤷🏾♂ "Pony" is a classic. "One in a Million" is a classic
hannah montana is a classic
You’re right
Classics tend to be memorable hit songs. Bad and Boujee is that lol. Pony and One In A Million are also hits. That's what made them classics.
