Para los que comentan en contra del nombre del volcán, los españoles fundaron Osorno en 1558 como fuerte y ruta de aprovisionamiento hacía Chiloe. Por lo cual el nombre del volcan se debe al poblado más cercano en existencia en aquella época. Llanquihue y todos sus poblados no existían.

Amazing shots Texa! I'm visiting Chile myself in January and want to bring my drone. It's my understanding that tourists need to apply for a license to fly but I don't speak Spanish and am having trouble navigating the govt websites. If it's not too much trouble, could you point me to the documentation you filed in order to fly in Chile? Any other issues crossing through customs I should know about? TEXAGONIA porque osorno es una cuidad del sur de chile pero no esta no cerca del volcan, yo igual tengo esa duda del porque se llama asi, de echo lo mismo con el volcan calbuco calbuco es una cuidad pero no esta ni cerca del volcan

Correcto. Puede ser que les llamaron esas ciudades para honrar la belleza de los volcanes. Pero tampoco Osorno es lejos del volcán. 25 minutos de auto... Calbuco... sí es lejos de su volcán...

raul galleguillos Se llama Osorno por una razon muy sencilla. Osorno fue fundada en 1558 por los españoles , como punto aprovisionamiento en la ruta del camino real hacia Chiloe en el siglo XVII. Puerto Montt, Puerto Varas , Llanquihue , Frutillar no existían. Se le da el nombre por el poblado mas cercano que había en esa época. Lo mismo sucede en el nombre del volcan Calbuco.

Desafortunadamente muchos documentalistas se confunden por las palabras y si tiene que informar sobre la provincia de Osorno le incorporan imágenes del volcán Osorno que está en la provincia de Llanquihue; y si informan sobre la comuna de Calbuco incorporan imágenes del volcán Calbuco que queda en la cercanía de Puerto Varas.
