thanks Brandon, if I have plan drawn in mm (say a rectangle 5mm*5mm), and I want to make it 5meter*5meter, should I answer yes to scale after I change unit from mm to meter?

Thanks for this video but the architectural option is not available in drawing units drop down menu in autocad architecture 2025? The only options are feet, inches, meters, etc... the architectural is not present!

This is the first time I have heard of dwg units. I'll have to watch the video several times to understand them and how they affect my drawing and why I would change anything.
It seems like this could really confuse a project if someone used this dwg command and changed something.

Definitely agree! It's confusing that they can be controlled from two different commands and yes typically I won't change them.
But have run into times when working in metric (Canada) and been confused as to why drawings from consultants or architects weren't overlaying with my site plans. That's why I like to share this command/tip, to help if the issues arises. Turned out that their drawings were all set to feet. This command helped fix the scaling issues when xrefing the drawings in, but at the same time, it shouldn't be an issue we even need to deal with.

I have multiple blocks in the drawing, but their units are different, and we couldn't change their units with the dwgunits command can we change all these blocks' units at one time?

Need some assitance. I have a drawing from a surveyor in decimal. I imported the drawing into my template and trying to draw a line but it is off by a scale of 12 and I cannot seem to correct the issue. My Units are set to Engineering and inches. I have tried multiple combinations in dwgunits with no sucess.

Heeelpp Brandon! My line work isn't visible after I switch units using the dwgunits command. The line work is still there and visible when I hover over it but disappears after the fact.

Hello friends when I used - DWGUNITS command in AutoCAD to convert from decemal feet to meter,
The result is 10 ft radius circle, became 0.01 meter radius circle, instead of 3.05 meter radius. I need help please..

Running a few tests with R2022, it looks like the DWGUNITS command (which I can't find in "Help") does the same as a SOME items in UNITS. The major difference is that DWGUNITS can precisely scale and entire drawing so the drawing acts as if it was totally redrawn from scratch in the newly specified unit assumption. Is this right?
I wonder if each command (UNITS or -UNITS, and DWGUNITS) was coded by two separate people, totally independent of each other.

    • @Cadintentions

I wonder that too, or maybe it's a legacy/holdover command from way back.
It's weird that units are controlled from different commands, and that they can be set differently.

Hi Brandon . Having an issue with the units I just can't seem to fix. No matter what I set my units to the number I enter in to draw is always inches but measures in feet. So say I type in 24 it turns out to be 2 feet. How can I type in 24 and it be 24 feet?

Have you checked your dimension units?

    • @joesouthwood4317
      @joesouthwood4317 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@BY-hw6om I figured it out. I thought I should be able to type in a number a it be in feet instead of inches. apparently you have to put in the abbreviation for feet.

mine is not changing, I change the units in both places, but still when I dimension objects, it still gives me in the previous unit, which is Inches.
