- On Saturday April 20th, 2013; the day after the biggest manhunt in history shutdown the city of Boston, the Red Sox celebrated the subject's capture, the city's spirit, and the 101st anniversary of Fenway Park by inviting a very special guest to lead the crowd in the traditional 8th inning sing-a-long of "Sweet Caroline".
Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Neil Diamond - กีฬา
This was a National American moment.
Daniel E. Southard the New York Yankees played it at their next game at Fenway hung the Iconic B with the Yankees logo right after the bombing., it really was an American Moment all the Nation could share in, baseball gotta love it he game

11/1/2024 will be my father n step mothers 50th! They fell in love to his songs! To this day they still dance when they hear one of them! He's 93, she's 88! Yes, health issues, but they remember n dance!! Thank you Mr Diamond!

Being of Irish heritage but born and raised in the American Southwest, I felt right at home at Fenway Park with all my fellow Micks.
I wonder what that feels like to Neil, to have a song so immortalized and beloved. So cool!

Good job filming the surrounding crowd as well. I recently discovered this song by watching it performed by the bands of Her Majesty's Royal Marines and now I've been looking through various performances that I can find on YT.

I grew up in NY a diehard Yankee fan, when my daughter was 12 and of course a Yank, we went to see them play the Sox at Fenway for a playoff game. It was the game the yank's won by 10 runs. I was worried because my daughter was head to toe decked out in Yankee colors. We had standing room tickets and I was amazed how great the Sox fans treated my child. 2 fellas seated in front of us offered my child their seats and I almost cried, they were clearly long time Sox fans and had never seen their team win a series. I returned the favor by wearing a Red Sox cap during their run to the title some years later and I like to think my last name which means fortunate in Italian helped them just a bit, Godbless the folks of Boston and this great country. 💖
Despite living in California when he was younger, my 5 year-old son became a lifelong Red Sox fan after I brought him a red Sox cap after a business trip to Boston.
He's now 24 and still roots for the Sox when they're not playing the Mariners.

This song is super popular in America. Neil Diamond is American musician w/ a huge library of commercial hits after all. Not like he was a 1 hit wonder & somehow his 1 hit just resonated more in the UK. This song is beloved on both sides of the pond.
