      @29:00 you can see the output line from the pump has a copper crush washer to prevent leaks but he failed to use one with the input water line. No wonder customers keep having them leak, there’s not enough torque on the threads and Teflon tape to seal out water. If he added that crush washer with his adaptor, there would never be a problem. @coffeehaus

    Let me add a thumbs up for the Moccamaster coffee maker. I have had one for almost 30 years (yes they have been making them for at least that long - and they don't look much different today from the one I bought long ago - the mark of a great design and quality manufacturing) and it has never failed me. It continues to make great coffee. All I've done is clean it and descale it from time to time.

    • @oficina_moomoo
      @oficina_moomoo ปีที่แล้ว

      I think for most, this is a better machine than the decent. Not to mention it is a lot better looking. The decent is very cool and one of the best at certain things but it does not look the part which if I am gonna have it in my kitchen and look at it the whole time the LMLM is the winner everytime. However would have gone single dose grinder, easier to explain to someone “weight 18 grams and then grind it” instead of grind by time which always changes way too much

    • @pantac4493
      @pantac4493 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@oficina_moomoo yeah although you could crank out more coffee with it being timed but this isn’t a cafe and I don’t find the trade off enough for the trouble you get with adjusting the grind compared to a single dose grinder. I measure out my coffee every day for a single doser, it’s not that hard for the convenience of adjustment and not wasting so much coffee to pinpoint a time

    • @MattM-24
      @MattM-24 ปีที่แล้ว

      I own a Decent, it's definitely a better machine in regards to coffee quality. But I'm not sure there's a better machine for this use case than the Linea Mini. I think the biggest selling point to the Decent here would be the Stop At Weight, which would control the output for the user, but idk if it's enough.
      Also I'm surprised they didn't go with a Grind By Weight grinder

    Although Matt is open to this idea of adding this coffee machine (which I think is awesome), the thing I noticed in this video as well as one he did in Seattle at the expensive car storage place, is that Matt really doesn't understand why people enjoy coffee outside of Folger's or Maxwell or McDonalds i.e. drinking coffee as a means to an end to get a caffeine kick (we do it btw bc it tastes extremely good to us). Maybe it has to do with being Midwestern or living in the South. This is a core cultural aspect of many countries to deeply enjoy coffee, here's quite a few to mention: Italy, France, England, Australia, South Africa, Korea, Japan, many parts of Africa, South East Asia, South America, etc. all deeply enjoy high quality coffee because people from all over the world love coffee that isn't instant coffee. I like that he's pretty open minded, but he kept prodding with questions on why someone would even bother doing this in the first place. I wish Luke from Coffeehaus, could first explain why people drink coffee like this as opposed to the standard instant diner coffee, as well as the explanation for the basic methods of coffee consumption, WHY is there espresso, WHY is there pour over, WHY is there french press. Maybe something that associates to some on this channel, is the idea of drinking something other than bud light. Imagine you meet a guy who legitimately only drinks budweiser or bud light, may be some people like draft beers or craft beers or some people like more expensive whiskeys (I'm sure plenty of southerners would have other drinks to drink other than a basic bud light, given the rich history of making bourbons, moonshine and so on). Maybe some people like detailing their cars rather than driving to the car wash to get their car all scratched up. Maybe some people like coffee a lot more than Matt would know. Food for thought...

      Great to hear about adding one in the future. No denying which machine wins in replicating the cafe style of espresso drink. My perspective was from the mindset that most people will just want to “push” a button and have the machine produce a flat white or similar drink with minimal effort or time to learn using the machine…I would rather push a button and get a drink that is close enough vs. having to watch tutorials on making the same coffee drink. Like you mentioned, the milk steaming has a learning curve too. Anyways, your experience in this arena is impressive and above my knowledge, but always great to have different perspectives.

      Kinda, sorta, maybe. I believe the thinking is, "Just tell me what to buy." The value is not having to go down the rabbit hole. Especially for something that one doesn't have a passion for. I'm about 99% positive that I can't taste the difference between two really good brews. But I'm betting I could taste the difference between this setup and something my 75-year-old mom makes every morning.

      Using the grinder that times the output and not weight doesn’t make sense to me. There are grinders that have very little retention and when you pre-measured the bean weight, that’s the weight you get on the output. That makes adjustments to grind size 100x easier than this. Instead of them filling the hopper they could weigh out the amount they need for a single dose and adjust for retention if there’s any

    Hahaha, have been using my Chinese made Breville for just over a decade. Most Breville machines are under $1k, so I guess they’re junk. But the thing is, they make excellent cups of coffee … and it’s reliably consistent.
    It’s not really the machine that makes a great cup of coffee, it’s the person preparing it. A bad barista can still make a crap cup of Joe on an $8k espresso machine, while an excellent barista can make a wonderful cup of coffee with a simple $30 French press.
    You want a great cup of coffee, have someone who knows their stuff make one for you. If not, learn how to do it yourself. This thing spending gobs of money (for no reason) on certain things is pure silly. Nobody will ever taste the difference between a $500 machine or a $5k machine. I promise you.
