Professional sewist here. Excellent work for your first project! Next time, try this: Put your dominant hand behind the presser foot. Keep your other hand at least 3" in front of it. Stretch the fabric away from the foot in both directions, as you run it through the machine. So you're pulling the fabric taut as it's being stitched. On expensive industrial machines, there's a feature that does this for you called a "differential feed," but on a domestic machine, you have to DiY. Keep making!
