For people curious, here’s the song’s meaning: Evans says, "Music producer Phil Spector was said to have hidden his wife Ronnie's shoes so that she couldn't run away. He was rumored to have threatened his wife with a glass casket he kept in the house, saying that he would display her corpse in it if she attempted to escape. Spector was simultaneously writing and producing trite, catchy, pop songs for teens. Pop music, by definition, is so ubiquitous and easily consumed that it can be hastily digested as banal or innocuous. When taking Spector's abusive, possessive behavior into account, the lyrics of '60s pop songs can begin to feel dark, insincere, and even sinister. I found a lot of common themes in pop from that era. One recurring theme was that of women being dependent upon a man or relationship to feel valuable and loved. Phil Spector is rumored to have forced his wife to watch Citizen Kane in the hopes that she would realize she'd be nothing without him. To me, the dichotomy between the Spectors' relationship and the music they created offers the following beautiful, albeit tragic, illustration: All the quaint, romantic notions of love that '60s pop music has given us, do not adequately prepare hearts and minds for the often brutal reality of human relationships. Roar is a Phoenix, Arizona, hard rock band formed by Owen Evans in the late 2000s. In 2016, Evans started moonlighting as the touring drummer for fellow Arizona-based folk-punk band AJJ, but he continued to release records as Roar. "Christmas Kids" is a track from Roar's 2010 debut EP, I Can't Handle Change. The song is about producer Phil Spector's abusive relationship with his wife Ronnie Spector. Phil Spector was a music producer who was known for his innovative "Wall of Sound" production technique that was popular in the 1960s. He was married to Veronica "Ronnie" Bennett, who was the lead singer of the girl group, The Ronettes, between 1968 and 1974. According to Ronnie, Phil Spector was controlling and jealous, and he would often physically and emotionally abuse her. She described incidents where he would pull her hair, hit her, and even threaten her with a gun. She also said he would isolate her from her friends and family and force her to stay at home and not work on music. Appearing unsightly With devils inside me If you ever try to leave me, I'll find you, Ronnie "Phil Spector was said to have hidden his wife Ronnie's shoes so that she couldn't run away," Evans detailed to The Phoenix New Times. "He was rumored to have threatened his wife with a glass casket he kept in the house, saying that he would display her corpse in it if she attempted to escape. Spector was simultaneously writing and producing trite, catchy, pop songs for teens." The title refers to the twins Louis and Gary Spector that Phil reportedly coerced Ronnie into adopting one Christmas in an attempt to revive their marriage. The Christmas kids were nothing but a gift And love is a tower where all of us can live Ronnie eventually filed for divorce from Phil Spector, citing irreconcilable differences. The singer later wrote in her 1990 memoir Be My Baby that she feared for her life during their marriage, and her mother helped her to escape from him. Louis and Gary Spector also accused their adopted father of engaging in likewise behavior towards them.

Meaning behind this song - trigger warning This is about phill spector and ronnie. To sum it up phill was abusive to Ronnie and basically locked her in the house to prevent her from cheating. He adopted twins on Christmas as a gift to Ronnie and she didn’t like this very much. Phill was a big music artist, he worked with the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and the ronnets (sorry if I spelt that wrong) which was the band that Ronnie was in. Ronnie and her band were also so popular they got the chance to work with the other bands I previously mentioned. After Phill and Ronnie married, he cut ronnie’s communication with those bands because they had men in them. With the children, phill used to lock them in rooms and left a bucket for them to use as a toilet. I hope that the children are doing well, that phill sector rots in h3ll even though I don’t believe it, and r.i.p Ronnie.
Appearing unsightly
With devils inside me
If you ever try to leave me, I'll find you, Ronnie
"Phil Spector was said to have hidden his wife Ronnie's shoes so that she couldn't run away," Evans detailed to The Phoenix New Times. "He was rumored to have threatened his wife with a glass casket he kept in the house, saying that he would display her corpse in it if she attempted to escape. Spector was simultaneously writing and producing trite, catchy, pop songs for teens."
The title refers to the twins Louis and Gary Spector that Phil reportedly coerced Ronnie into adopting one Christmas in an attempt to revive their marriage.
The Christmas kids were nothing but a gift
And love is a tower where all of us can live
Ronnie eventually filed for divorce from Phil Spector, citing irreconcilable differences. The singer later wrote in her 1990 memoir Be My Baby that she feared for her life during their marriage, and her mother helped her to escape from him. Louis and Gary Spector also accused their adopted father of engaging in likewise behavior towards them.

Meaning behind this song - trigger warning
This is about phill spector and ronnie.
Lyrics ☆
Ronnette, my dear, don't ever disappear
Do what you want as long as you stay here
I need you now, I love you so much, more than you could know
The Christmas kids were nothing but a gift
And love is a tower where all of us can live
You'll change your name, or change your mind
And leave this f☆cked up place behind
But I'll know, I'll know
I'll know, I'll know
I'll know, I'll know
I'll know, I'll know
Appearing unsightly, with devils inside me
If you ever try to leave me, I'll find you, Ronnie
If you ever try to leave me, I'll find you, Ronnie
If you ever try to leave me, I'll find you, Ronnie
If you ever try to leave me, I'll find you, Ronnie
I'm leaving, Phil, I'm leaving now
I'm going to escape, but you won't know how
Or where to find me when I'm gone
I'll drink myself to death insi-i-i-i-i-i-ide this prison cell, thi-is prison cell
So, get me out of here
Get me out of here
Get me out of here
Get me out of here
You'll change your name, or change your mind
And leave this fucked up place behind
But I'll know, I'll know
I'll know, I'll know
I'll know, I'll know
I'll know, I'll know
