PBs banned in Northern Ireland but no hope of that happening anytime soon in southern Ireland because the justice ministers husband works directly for a corporation that makes them.
Like you, I cannot see how such a proposed trial of puberty blockers would pass ethics considerations. It's just not possible not to be causing serious harms.
We do have Joanne Olson Kennedy’s $9 million dollar study. If she’s still not publishing it others have to assume puberty blockers are at best ineffective. She’s had her chance: loads of money and a study designed by herself/her chosen team. I rest my case !
I thought biomedical trials/experiments did not use humans as subjects/participants, unless they were fully informed and consenting adults. It is surely self-evident that children cannot be used in such trials.
Yes, but a parent or a legal representive can give consent if the child is under 16 (and agreement of only _one_ parent is required, which is wild initself). Over 16 is presumed to be able to give consent themselves. 🙄
To add: This is good _sometimes_ . If the child is terminally ill and the there's new experimental treatments, these are often given under a clinical trial setting. CT in children is also needed to develop age-specific effective treatments. But how anyone could ethically approve PB for further CT's at this point is beyond me. One would think the circumstances should have to be extreme..
I'm feeling really cheerful after hearing this, I'm beginning to think there's a real possibility that the ban on puberty blockers is going to be permanent, that big sick knot I have in my stomach because of what's been done to who knows how many children is starting to unravel.
Your work in this fight is impressive. More power to your elbow❤
This is excellent. I hope Wes Streeting takes notice.

No need for any more studies. All the facts are known.
Agreed. ❤️🇬🇧❌❌
SCIENCE! 😂

That's very well written.

This is shocking.

Is it true that those kids who are already on the hormone blockers are allowed to continue to damage their health? IF so, it`s still not a big win.
Can't quite believe any of this 😓
